Hmm... y'all are talking about these pants like you wear them EVERYWHERE... on my campus I see NPC and NPHC sorority members alike wear them maybe once a week with their jerseys.. but not much outside of that.

I love them, especially on the floor of my room. Yeahhhhh.....
|
Um, I'll disregard that Nole. I have 9 pairs! Some are flared, some are bootcut, some are old...you get the idea...Anyways, I wear some of them to class, some of them to bars, some to the gym....go figure! I love them and I'll NEVER stop wearing them!

Yes Susan, keep wearing them for Fratty's of America.....
|
I would just like to chime in here with the male perspective. I think I speak for fraternity men everywhere when I say,
"We LOVE sorority pants!" Keep wearing them, ladies. We are huge fans. |
YEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This is so funny, I ran accross my first pair today in my closet. I was cleaning it out for the Goodwill drive we have during greek week.
I got them my freshman year at the limited. They are fabulous. They are made out of the best material, never wrinkle, if you spill(and you will) it dries in 15 min flat and they go with everything. I always called them my party pants. I know they are old and I haven't worn them in 2 years but it is kind of like throwing away the tiffany's box and pouch.....I can't bring myself to do it!!!!!!!!!! |
In my chapter we call them TABs (Tight Ass Booty-Pants). I don't wear them though. Call me weird, but I have issues wearing black pants. I just prefer khaki and grey.
|
I never heard them referred to as "sorority pants" before... lol. But I guess just about every sorority girl here has them too. I love mine!
|
Ive heard sorority pants, booty pants, black pants, hoochie pants etc. I bought my first pair in high school because i was a dance major (arts HS) and they were good for that. Got to college and wewent out on night. Swear to god every girl we saw was wearing them. I had no clue it was going to be an epidemic. But here at Michigan you "have" to have at least four pair.
1 for jogging 1 for working out 1 for wearing to class and 1 for going out. and they dont have to be boot cut. can be straught or flare and we wear them with anything from sneakers and sweatshirts to heels and backless. black zip boots too. |
Even in my high school they were called "sorority girl pants"...I think the term was coined from the girls who had older sisters that were in sororities. Anyway I got my first pair at Carson Pirie Scott for 20.00 (clearance) and it had the Currants brand label. Now that I'm more.."independent" i should say (coz of my part time job, lol)I get mine at Express..I did buy one each at victoriassecret.com and guess.com but only coz they were on sale. Im a person who likes to get the most out of her money (hey we're in college!)and I am a real sale hunter at the top brand name stores...so no one really knows how much (or less)I paid for my stuff until i tell them...a real fashion girl's secret =)

I only ever see people wearing them either to go out, or with a nice top for badge attire. I don't see people wearing casual shirts (like sweatshirts or t-shirts) with them.
|
Are these things still around?
|
Tailored black dress pants? Yes. I doubt they will ever go out of style if they are what I think. I get mine from Express.
