If AmIBlue uses all of those emoticons, I'll have to post my next rule. No gooey buns. None.

Really tempted to emoticon here, but I'll resist.

The emoticons, gooey buns and sorority king are just too much for one evening .......

I agree with the toilet paper going OVER when I'm at home.... however, at work, or at any business that has the following kind of toilet paper dispenser, it must be UNDER!

http://www.mizozo.com/images/item_im.../14731_src.jpg

The reason is that these kinds of dispensers are designed to be pulled from under. If it's loaded improperly, with the paper coming from over, then you can't pull as much off as you need.... I get so frustrated at work when I get one friggin square at a time that I usually give up and pull a fresh roll off the back of the toilet and just get what I need.

I HATE those stupid dispensers.....

Y'all put the TP on the dispensers?

Fancy.

I use grocery bags too. I use them as lunch bags and as trash bags for the small wastebaskets. If they contained raw meat, I throw them away, but the ones that just had dry goods get repurposed. It's an environmental thing. I always forget to take my re-usable bags into the store and usually have more stuff than can fit in the ones I have anyway. I don't know where to put them in the cart while I'm loading the groceries. They end up buried under the food and then they aren't available to load groceries into. I deal with the guilt of this by repurposing the plastic bags. Besides, they charge ridiculous money for the special trash can bags. And the grocery bag ones have handles which help a) keep them from falling inside the wastebasket and b) make it easy to grab the bag out on trash day and tie it shut.

Oh, well. Back to blaming Michigan.

I use my directionals all the time and I'm in Michigan...

If I'm doing a favor for you, don't criticize my work through the process.

If you come to my house, hands off my V8.

Unwritten rule # 2020273485. It's generally known that, unless requested by the bride/groom, (ladies) don't wear 'white/off white/any variation of' to a wedding ~casual or formal. It's rude.

pinksequins 12-14-2013 09:59 AM

Hello, Pippa! And what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas. We could have a whole thread on Royal shenanigans rules.

I know, right? My dress was champagne but, it would be weird if anyone wore white.

.

If you live in CA, you don't use these bags at all. I have a plethora of reusable grocery bags to use when shopping. Some stores have plastic bags but give you a dirty look if you use them. Most stores charge you for using any bags that you don't bring. I just got back from my Radiology annual meeting, and I knew I'd become a Californian when I saw a stack of extra meeting bags with a sign "Take One" and I took 10. LOL. They may not be perfect for shopping, but they'll hold groceries.

MysticCat 12-14-2013 11:48 AM

On the Wal-Mart/grocery bags, it's simple recycling and not spending money unnecessarily.

Pardon this vent/

I wish this could become law but then that would be the type of government-run society that we don't want. PEOPLE...PLEASE...PUT...YOUR PHONES AND OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES AWAY! I hate seeing people sitting with each other and everyone is messing with an electronic device. Generally speaking and in societies in which this pertains, people are becoming more and more pathetic every day but we're too stupid to notice because we're so impressed with the technology. We have a generation of people in some societies who do not know life before the Internet and they speak and type coursework in text-language. Teachers and college professors (those who care) are having to buffer the effects of this brain attack. All of this is highlighted when I see groups of adults sitting together at restaurants and social events looking at their electronic devices. A quick look is fine if you have something you absolutely have to do right then and there. But a bunch of people not knowing how to talk face-to-face because they are talking to a damn screen all day? Please people...stop that mess. I have a rule with my friends (my family doesn't need it because all of us have low tolerance for technology, hate facebook, etc.) that we have to talk to each other when we are around each other. Put the damn phones away. I don't give a shit about your facebook, your twitter, your Instagram, whatever else, and don't you DARE take photos of yourself, us, or the food and post it on the Internet while we're sitting together at a restaurant or event. I hated and stayed away from photos before the Internet and definitely hate and stay away from photos now that people can't stop sharing their every breath with the Internet.

And speaking of, for the love of all that is holy, except for extenuating circumstances, it is corny as hell to text with someone who is sitting at the table. I was with a group last night and two of them started texting each other from across the table. I called them out because I could tell they were texting each other. Look, go sit beside each other or something. If you want to flirt, it is corny to need a text (a joking "you look sexy" text can be tolerated but a nonstop back and forth is corny). If you are talking negatively about the people at the table, fuck you, say it to our faces. We are RIGHT HERE. LOL.
