It was really quite random, neither the first nor the last time that I've donated. Every other time has been fine. So, while I am sure there are some people who will have problems each and every time they donate, it's also possible to have a one-off type of situation. If the first time I had donated had been the time I passed out, I doubt I'd be very keen on trying again! But, just wanted to throw it out there that just because you pass out once, doesn't mean you will pass out every time. :)

To be honest with you, I'm not even sure I weigh enough to donate blood. And again, I would do it if I didn't pass out or get sick every time I have blood drawn. I just don't do well with such things. Even if physically I was ok, mentally I can't handle it. I'm fine with shots.. but seeing, or even thinking about blood being drawn from my arm just knocks me out.

I will agree, though, that for some people, it's just a one time incident.

On the case of donating blood, I haven't in years because after several attempts I finally gave up. The line I use when needing to provide a blood sample is I'm a quart low. It just doesn't come out of me! They can't find a vein, it's a pain in the arse, I felt lousy after... But one of these days I'll do every preventive step and try again. I do think it's the easiest way to do something that virtually every person is going to need at one point in their life or another.

On the subject of food, one of my favorite guilty pleasures is cottage cheese and ranch dressing on saltines.

On hair, the only time in my life I wash my hair every day is when I'm doing heavy duty workouts on a daily basis. Sadly, I haven't needed to succumb to daily shampooing in awhile. I know! I know! I have to get back at it. Normally it's every other day, but I've been known to go 3 days. But by the end of that day I'm really feeling it, so ick.

I have always loved a bologna and peanut butter sandwich!
