I was so legitimately puzzled at being considered rude here.

I thought that your post was fine.

Regarding recs, I agree that 2-3 *quality* recs for each chapter at all three universities would be the ideal. By quality I mean that the recommender knows the daughter personally and can give a rounded picture of her.

The OP might also consider telling her daughter to leave the DZ legacy status off of the general application form for recruitment (on the campuses that have DZ chapters.) DZ will already know her legacy status through the recs. No other chapter needs to know.

You know, I was literally thinking about this today. I need to find out if there is a real word for the person after "ditto" to use.

On another website I've used, they started using "tritto," but I'm not sure if it's a legitimate word. I actually doubt that it is.

Not a word per se - but on the urbandictionary "me three" since 2006

Visiting Chapter Houses

To go way back to the beginning of this thread (skipping over the tumult and the storm): I think it is a GREAT idea to visit your chapter houses when you and your daughter go on campus visits. She is no longer regarding college as some place her parents were but as some place that she is going to be -- and, similarly, Greek life as not just what mom did but what she might do. The collegiate members will undoubtedly be tickled pink (or is that pink and green?) that both an alumna and a pnm/legacy are visiting. They darn well better receive you cordially!

As I posted on another GC forum, a month ago I returned to my college campus for the first time in many years. I visited both my dorm room and my chapter house (now occupied by a fraternity), and drove past the places I had summertime apartments. Ah, the memories!
