Like lots of foods, not all fondants are created equal. I have had some very bad fondant icings and some very good ones.

Mandarin Oranges. I love all oranges except these. I have no idea why they creep me out, but I literally get the heeby-jeebies!

Peach cobbler and lemon chiffon...I want to like them both, but I just don't and would definitely not waste my dessert calories on them.

I don't like Mandarin oranges, either, but I think it's because they're soaked in syrup. I'm a fan of regular oranges.

Plain boiled okra! If it's in a Gumbo its great. If it's in a Curry its excellent. If it is fried it is OK. If it is just boiled and served plain I could never deal with the taste or the texture. Most guys don't like boiled okra and then I found out why. Few years ago a bunch of us were sitting around the UC drinking coffee and discussing whatever came to mind. One of the girls commented that she really liked Okra and was raised on boiled okra when she was growing up in Alabama. Another girl said, ''you can't be serious, boiled okra tastes like a BJ''! The guys just stared and the first girl got this horrified look and said, ''Oh mah gawd, you are right. I never thought of that. Ah think I'm gonna lose my lunch''.
We just couldn't stop laughing. After that boiled okra just wasn't on the suggestion list at the UC cafeteria.

I know lots of people hate steamed okra, but I love it.

I've never liked oranges. And as far as I'm concerned, orange juice = medicine.

I agree. I think a lot of foods out of their "natural" element are nasty.

I like carrots but dislike carrot cake.
I like fruit but dislike fruitcake.

Exception. I love bananas. I love banana pudding. :D

This is one of the least classy things you've ever posted. Makes me want to re-consider calling you pretentious.

Nope, nevermind. Still pretentious.

you and I are so much alike. I love bananas and banana pudding, too. Fruit cake is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever tried. I think giving someone a fruit cake as a gift any time of year is an insult, unless the person you're giving it to likes it with you having knowledge of it. Other than that, it's totally a slap in the face. lol

Fruitcake is just nasty.

I will never forget when I was a child that my mother would make these gross fruitcake cookies at Christmas. I cried and cried because she wanted me to leave them for Santa one year. I was afraid he wouldn't bring me any presents if I left him gross cookies. I believe she found some Oreos in the cupboard to placate me.

ETA: I would kill for some of my Grandma's banana pudding. She made it by layering vanilla wafers with sliced bananas and pouring this hot sauce over the whole thing. It was awesome. All pudding-based banana puddings, while good, pale in comparison.

Hilarious! I think it would be hilarious to see the look on someone's face if they got a fruit cake for a gift. I mean, I never understood why anyone would give out something that disgusting. They're not only disgusting to eat, they smell really bad, too. lol

Store-bought fruitcake is nasty. My mother's homemade fruitcake, on the other hand, was awesome.

As for bananas, I like them okay, but I just can't stand banana pudding, or anything else banana-flavored for that matter.
