As for me, first choice would have to be Kappa Sigma's star and crescent. I've always thought that was a cool design. Runners up would be Sigma Chi, ATO, Delta Psi*, Sigma Nu and Sig Ep. On the distaff side, I'd have to go with Pi Phi or SAI. Quote:
* Since it may not be as familiar as the others, this is the badge of Delta Psi (St. Anthony Hall): http://www.fraternaltreasure.com/cat...75_28677_1.jpg |

I already said the two badges I'd get in the Badge Trends thread- two toned GPhiB or the 4 pearl ADPi. The rest of my badge lusts are special badges so I'd be up a creek! What I'd give to be a Theta and have a Dyer badge encrusted in pearls (sorry Maria, I know you like it plain!) or an Alpha Phi with a Lazy Phi badge in pearls! I think I could settle for one of those vintage Kappa badges with the filigree in white gold with little fleur de lis on the ward. Well, there are two other modern badges that would do...the Zeta badge in pearls with turquoise points and an AXiD badge in double blue.

/lane swerve In The Netherlands most student groups/fraternities/sororities (not GLOs because of lack of Greek letters but much the same in most ways) wear neckties (the men) and cravats (the women) mostly in the same ways North American GLOs wear their pins. The ties and cravats are given to each initiate and may be passed down through generations if family members decide to join the same group. There are special fabrics to commemorate special occasions and sometimes special ties/cravats for ritual or officers. Officers usually wear neck badges that belong to the group and are passed on from year to year. In some cases the badges are as old as the groups, which means they can date back to the early 1800's. /end lane swerve |
^^^^ So . . . . how about some pictures of the ties/cravats?
(Maybe it belongs more in the Badge Trends thread.) |

I love the badges that are "things", so I really do love my KKG key. But other than that, DG's anchor would probably be my first choice. I've always lived near the ocean and it reminds me of my Dad (who loves to sail), plus it's just so pretty!
I also love AChiO's lyre and Theta's kite, especially with the Dyer (Dwyer?) points. Even though they aren't "things", there's something about the ZTA and Phi Mu badges that I really like! Maybe the symmetry? And I think the sphinx on the Phi Sigma Sigma badge is neat. |

I am in love with this sapphire ZTA badge:

If I was a Pi Phi I'd snap up one of those arrow badges with garnet and aquamarine stones...it's so beautiful! Plus, Pi Phi was the other house I preffed at when I went thru rush, so I feel a kinship! :)

I absolutely love my ASA ruby and pearl badge with pearl guard. But if I had to choose a badge:
http://www.pernese.net/centbadge.jpg I think the newest Theta Phi Alpha badge is so pretty. Plus, my grandma was a Theta Phi Alpha. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GIUPzilnKS...600/TBadge.jpg There's something really simple and beautiful about the newest ADPi badge. The sapphires look really pretty with the diamonds on the polished badge. |

As Odd as it may seem, I have belonged to THREE Fraternity's.:)
1. Alpha Phi Omega and have an all Pearled Badge. 2. Beta Chi, the Local that I founded. Nothing but a plain Badge. 3. Lambda Chi Alpha, White Gold with Eleven Sapphires in the Lambda. Original one. Over the years I have worn three Badges. 1. White Gold, 8 Diamonds in the Lambda with 3 Sapphires. 2. Current,m Yellow Gold, with Three Rubies and Eight Opals with a special L X Guard of which I think there may be only two! |
