Thanks for noticing.

And thanks for using this most random "no" opportunity to speak out about my username. LOL. You no longer have to hold it in. I see your dumbass didn't say anything to the other person who replied "no." Dumbass.

I knew you would hate that. :)

I think it was the 1980s when I first noticed people sporting the playboy bunny and then it being associated with Kappa. I think my memory is correct. I always hated it. It's an unnecessary and stupid reference.

I read years ago where playboy was either suing or called for a cease and desist on the use of the playboy bunny in reference to Kappa. Kappa started telling members to stop getting things with the logo and burn the things they already have. LOL. The good thing is that was never an official animal or symbol.

/of course you know much more about this than I do

With that said, I love everything about Delta's colors and official and unofficial symbols. What I sometimes don't like is how some (licensed and unlicensed) vendors put it together and how some Deltas of all ages choose to display it. But, I have no real complaints as long as they are not violating Protocol and Traditions.

We've only got the one color, and I've never been a red girl. I can deal, and I adore our unofficial mascot (yep, the panda is actually unofficial believe it or not). I do have a problem whenever our red is paired with black, because I am not a fan of my alma mater in any capacity and refuse to wear red and black in any combination. I also don't mind shirts in different colors either. A few years back we had an adorable chocolate brown and pink letter shirt available and loved that. I'm sure for some groups anything but their stated colors are a no-no, but I'm glad that's not the case for us!

I just don't think we need to be THAT feminist that we can't have a male mascot. Besides, are teddy bears actually gendered?

Couldn't Al be short for Allison? LOL Is that seriously why they changed it? I mean, Phi Mu and ADPi both have boy lions.

I actually bought a red dress with a white cardigan this weekend. As soon as I saw it together, I had to have it! All I could think about was how great an outfit it would be for my alumnae group's installation ceremony!

Of course, red & white are easy colors to put together. I plan on using them as my wedding colors. And, since I've joined Alpha Gam, there's going to be some buff in there as well. I'm planning on a bouquet of red roses with a single white rose and single buff rose. (Though, I probably need to be engaged firsts )

I do wish SAI had a mascot, but I guess it doesn't really suit us. I love our Pan Pipes symbol, but only because I know what it stands for. I don't have Pipes of Pan hanging all over my house.

I love the AGD armorial bearings and colors. I actually did a cross stitch of it. I think they look great together (though, a little christmas themed looking). I don't wear them often but think they look great as a decorative theme.

Does ADPi's lion have a name?

I know at least one of our chapters that says our colors are Red and Black! Drives me nuts. I guess Cardinal isn't good enough. Anyway. I used to hate the sheaf of wheat. Thought the pledge pin was so ugly. It has grown on me over the years. Now that I have a vintage pledge pin, I know that part of the problem is the cheap-o pins we use now that don't really look like a sheaf but more like a mushroom.

Bored today or something? If you want to troll DrPhil you're really going to have to do better than this.

You aren't a fan of your alma mater? Why is that? Where did you go to school? Clearly, I'm no good with figuring this stuff out based on colors. I always thought Ole Miss was black and red but, I could be wrong. Did you have an unhappy experience, while in college? That just interested me and I wondered because I rarely ever hear someone who went Greek say that they don't care for their alma mater (or they hated college).

LOL. als463 is so cute.

I was looking for appliances and was reminded of this awesomeness:

http://products.geappliances.com/App...ku=JES0734PMRR

http://products.geappliances.com/App...Sku=DMR04GAZRR

It clearly isn't impossible to find good (and licensed) Delta items. :p

Wait, really? Why would you want a fridge with letters on it?

What does this have to do with feminism at all?

Alpha Gam's Skiouros (Squirrel) is a male.

Those look like dorm room fridges and microwaves. I think that type of thing would be super popular among undergrads. And perhaps folks that are allowed to have minifridges in their offices.

When I was selecting dining room furniture for one of our chapters, the interior designer recommended a dining chair with a back that looked like a lyre. Although that campus did not have a chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, I told her we simply could not have 200 Alpha Chi Omega chairs. She thought I was nuts because it wasn't actually a lyre design - just looked like one. Funny thing is, later our International Executive Director came to approve my choices. The designer showed her that chair as an option, and the first thing the Executive Director said was, "well those remind me of Alpha Chi Omega. What else do you have?" No disprespect to AXO, but some symbols are so closely related to another GLO that you just can't use them!

One year we had a red-headed chapter president. During rush we had a "red dress day"- she hated it because it clashed with her hair.

I always loved the red, but sometimes I wished we had a second color that we could use, just as an accent or something. I love the panda bear, but if you want "panda" jewlery, it can get hard- it is either painted or if you just want silver or gold, then it becomes a generic bear. And wheat stuff can be hard to find!
