LOL @ smurfs....Is it cuz they're blue? I totally forgot about Fern Gully. I like the Dances With Wolves comparisons as well. Very fitting.

I feel like all Cameron films are overrated. Spielberg too.

AVATAR

It was interesting, visually stimulating, and very overrated.

The best part of the movie is the graphics. That is the only reason I eventually saw it.

Jodi Picoult-This is hard for me to admit because I've read most of her books. I think I keep reading her books, hoping and praying that the next will be different, but they aren't. EVERY book that I've read of hers has some sort of court battle in it. Her books are truly getting predictable, but I keep reading hoping that it will be different.

I like it better when it was called Dances With Wolves.

Black Eyed Peas was the bomb before Fergie.

Hey! Jurassic Park rocks.

I tried to watch Avatar a couple of times. I became bored very quickly each time. I'll have to take people's word for it.

It's pretty, but I wouldn't be entertained by it outside of a movie theater. But seeing it there in 3D, that was worth it. Stupid plots don't matter so much when everything is that stunning. (Well, for me anyway...I'm the kind of person that prefers movies for entertainment, not food for thought. If you're the food-for-thought type, you'll never be able to struggle through it.)

Yes, but PiKA2001 said Cameron and Spielburg.

Oh, I love movies for entertainment. But for me it's not entertaining if I don't care about the plot. It doesn't have to be a deep or thought-provoking plot, but it does need to be a decent story.

Meanwhile, also way overrated: 3D movies.

I might totally get yelled at but.....

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Now, I have seen them and I did enjoy them, but god almighty all the hype leading up to the movies and the crap I got from friends because I hadn't "seen" them yet. I was like "really, I don't want to". I didn't see the trilogy until after ROTK was released, so I wasn't one of those people who anxiously and impatiently waited for 2 years.

Shrek-I hated the first movie. To me it seemed like marketing was really trying to label it as a "kids" movie but when I saw it I was just disgusted. I loved Eddie Murphey in it but I was like "I will never let my child see this".

Cats-Everyone was like "OMG, Cats is sooo good! It is one of the best musicals! Andrew Lloyd Webber is awesome!" (which ALW is awesome but not because of Cats). Left at intermission. I had absolutely no clue what the hell was going on. I could barely make out the words that were being sung. I was just lost and bored.

Nirvana

Sorry, but I always thought Nirvana sucked. For me, Pearl Jam was the rock band of the 90s.
