The church has actually followed through on things before. Including a sign saying "No Homo Mayor." These were also the church members who sent their kids to school with shirts saying "Islam is of the devil."

The church also lost its tax-exempt status at some point. IMO the guy probably would have gone through with it and is still being pressured to do so by his congregation otherwise he wouldn't be wavering back and forth.
