Yes, the fact that he voted for Jill, and that she got ousted instead of Marty. Marty is like the teflon don, overbloated ego, irritating, everybody knows he should go, but he just keeps sticking around. Maybe the edit is worse than he is, but I can't stand him, he's reaching Naonka dislike for me and that's saying alot.
I think Fabio/Jud is actually alot smarter than he's coming off, and it could totally be on purpose. When Jeff asked him if he knew what Freudian was, he gave a quick and intelligent answer - unlike the couple on the amazing race - London is a country. I think he's putting on a persona, and it's working for him. Maybe that's how he is in life, maybe just for the show - who knows. Isn't he also an Abercrombie model? dumb, blonde surfer dude who models for A&F, perfect under the radar but pretty to look at. I'd keep him around. |
I really couldn't believe Marty gave the idol to Sash. That seemed like one of the dumbest moves ever. Is Marty going to turn into the guy that everybody wants to take to the final since he is so disliked that it would be easier to win against him?
I also think Jud "Fabio" (cracks me up that everybody is calling him that!) is smarter than he's letting on. I really dislike Brenda. Really. Dislike. Brenda. She's just as arrogant as Marty. I think she'll be getting hers soon. |

I think it's only a matter of time (and a short one, at that) before Brenda aims for Sash, and vice versa. Sash certainly had a poorly timed Freudian slip at TC.
Marty made a move that I can't understand and I have to attribute it to lack of food or some such thing. He must have been lightheaded and weak at the time. The first five minutes after the merge will be the most interesting moments on this whole season, IMO. |
Nay...OMGWTFBBQ? That's all I have to say about that.
Meanwhile, I knew Chase was from Fairview, NC...but I failed to realize that it's like 10 min. from my house. (I never go that direction) That's kinda cool. |
I was pretty surprised by last night's vote. I didn't remember Alina being on the outs so much. What did she do (prior to her association with a thief) to earn so many votes?
And UGH! at Nay's attitude and behavior. I hate that the show is designed in a way that makes it attractive for good players to take bad players to the final. SHE STOLE YOUR FOOD AND COOKING SUPPLIES, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. VOTE HER THE EFF OFF! I loved the way Fabio handled the confrontation, though. I'm pretty disappointed with the way things are looking, honestly. I'm not impressed with many of the players who are left (although Jane impresses me a bit more each week). I'd really like to see Marty and Nay go home soon. Unfortunately, I don't think that'll happen. I want to post my picks for the final three, but it seems like every time I do that, the players I pick are the next to go home. Oooh, I know... Final three: Nay, Marty and Dan. :D |

I laughed when Marty went on yet another one of his rants (seriously, what is Dr. Strategy thinking?) and said something about "Miss Jane" being from South Carolina. Them's fighting words. And what's "South Dakota Word of Honor." Okay, is nobody out there thinking? Nay? Stealing food? Really? Brenda, Sash and company? Why, why, why do they keep voting off someone other than Marty? They deserve anything that happens to them for not voting him off last week or the week before, or at least this week. Jane? Yes, she's right about Marty, but her insistence on voting for him regardless of what her alliance is doing isn't smart. And Jud? Okay, you like having Marty around camp. (I'm not sure why, except that he's an improvement on NaOnka.) That's not why you lobby not to to vote him out. (Can I hope that was just a line he fed Alina?) It just makes my head hurt. Where's Shii Ann when we need her: "Stupid, stupid people." And Sydney, Alina's problem was that she was aligned with Kelly B in the original La Flor tribe, putting her outside the controlling alliance. That, plus she thought strategically, making her a threat. Meanwhile, I was so hoping that someone would suggest that the new tribe -- a merge of La Flor and Espada -- be named Florada. |
I never thought I would say this, but I want Russell back! He may have played a villian, but at least there was some strategy going on. Brenda is probably the most strategic one out there...and that's not saying much for them. Marty has good strategic ideas, but I wouldn't call him a good strategic player because he can't keep his mouth shut and keeps tipping his hand. And speaking of tipping hands, while it was entertaining to watch Jane whip everyone's tails in the challenge, I think it was foolish for her to do. Anything that calls attention to a particular strength you have in this game is not a good idea at this point.

And ditto on Marty as well -- I think he has good strategic ideas but terrible execution. We did see some strategy from NaOnkna last night, though, at least when she wasn't getting dirt in the flour. |
I just remembered something from last week that never came up: Jane eating that fish on the sly. If nothing has come of it yet, I doubt anything will...but I'm shocked that she actually got away with it. Now, there are two debates to be had here.
1. Did she deserve it? And 2. Whether she deserved it or not, was it worth the risk? 1. In my eyes as a viewer, she has been working her tail off while everyone else lazies around...she deserved it. But I doubt her tribemates would have felt that way. I would be interested to know their reactions when they saw it on TV. 2. I don't think it was worth the risk. While she is in the. majoriry alliance, she's obviously at the bottom, and people have shown that they will take out people in the bottom of their alliance over people outside their alliance for (perceived) slights. By the way, the alliances seem to me to be very blurry. I can't tell at this point who stands where...especially Chase, Fabio, Kelly and Holly. It would seem that they are with Brenda, Sash, Nay, and Jane, but that's really too many people to be defined as an alliance. Marty is obviously on the outs with everyone and Dan doesn't have a strategic bone in his body. I haven't got a clue about Benry, and actually had to go look him up to figure out who I was missing. |
I just read Jeff's blog here. His "discovery" about Nay is below:
"From a maturity point of view, Naonka is a seven-year-old. That’s it. That’s my big discovery. When dealing with Naonka you simply have to treat her as you would a first-grader. Think about it. She’s selfish. She’s a know-it-all. She’s defiant. She’s a rule tester. She denies everything and only apologizes when she is actually caught doing something. She behaves in every conceivable way as though she were seven years old. ... Even I have to admit…stealing the food was one of the most brazen things I’ve ever seen on our show. Outright crazy until you remember, she’s only seven." Can you imagine how angry she'll be at Jeff when she reads this? In response, I'm sure she'll do nothing but prove him right - I can see the tantrum already. I love that Jeff calls it like he sees it. I wonder... when he decides to retire, could anyone possibly convince him to be a contestant? |
^^^Oh God, I hope so. Although if he ended up on a tribe where even one of them didn't have rocks tor brains, he'd be the first to be voted out. Who wants to play pick-up ball against Michael Jordan?

As for the risk, it was risky. I had to assume she knew how long they would expect her to be gone (and that they never came looking for her, or much less came to help), and she knew that she could start a fire, cook a fish and extinguish the fire before anyone wondered where she was. She also must have felt secure that she could build a fire that wouldn't attract attention. I thought it was a great move, and I assume at this point no one knew until they saw it on TV. No one caught her, and they've moved to the other campsite, so how would they know unless she 'fessed up? I don't see that happening. As for the alliance(s), I really think it's another "onion alliance," with Brenda, Sash and NaOnka at the center and everyone else but Benry, Marty and maybe Dan layered on closer to or further from the center. The outer layers don't seem to be catching on to that, though. |
"You are a 100% Grade A dirt squirrel" LOL!

So much to say about last night's episode!
I'm happy with the vote, but I can't believe that, despite all her shenanigans, Nay is still around. Is it possible that she'll be taken to the final because everyone thinks she'll be easy to beat, just to win the whole thing because she's playing an open game? She's not trying to hide her true, no matter how unlikeable, personality. Still, I'm happy to see Marty go, so I won't complain. I wish they had shown the random selection of the two teams for the reward challenge. That would've been fun to watch. I was proud of the ladies for keeping up in the challenge as well as they did. Does anyone know what the previews are about? Did their camp catch on fire or something? If you know what happens, please pm me! |
