Fortunately, I did make it out to the local super-big-box-mart for groceries today. Now that I have 2 cases of Diet Coke on hand it's inevitable that either we'll get nothing (calling from 8-12" more here by Wednesday) OR we'll get so much that I'll run out again before we've dug back out.

Dont hurt yourself doing that! |
Ok, I'm from Michigan and I can only think of one time in my entire lifetime that we got as much snow in as short a time as you just did in the mid-Atlantic, so those who are saying that you are wimps are really just crazy. When we got the 24-30 inches on New Year's Day, 1999, it was a full two weeks before mail service was restored in some parts of the city of Detroit.
That said, we're expecting 6-10" from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning and the kids are COUNTING on a snow day. Honestly, I am too. I told the boss today that if we get that much, I will not be in, so it is now, technically a "scheduled" day off. I'm ready for a snow day. I need a break. Besides, I have my teenage boy here, ready to make some money. He made money on the duck thing already this week. I'm paying him to take the trash to the curb tomorrow because there is a TON of it and now he's going to make money on snow removal for me too. He'll be rich (and I'll be poor!) |
^^^ My next-door neighbor earned $400 this weekend by shoveling snow!

From your fingers to my ex-husband's eyes. If he's smart, he'll capitalize on this and make some money.

Here's a picture of George in the snow for you guys. And yes, school is canceled again today with another 10ish inches expected tonight so I won't be surprised if I'm not back until Monday... I actually want to go back to class! http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._4286381_n.jpg |

I've been very concerned about my friends who live in the DC area, but I called them all yesterday and they all assured me that they were fine and having fun with the kegs they were lucky enough to get prior to the storm. Well, one was pissed because everyone's getting days off but they were his original days off so he hasn't missed any work yet, but on the whole they're warm and happy - and I'm glad to hear it. |
Don't worry, I take very little she says as A) truthfull, B) reliable, or C) representative of anyone besides the crazies in her head lol

Sigh-looks like the "Son of Snowtorious B.I.G." will be upon us tonight and tomorrow. Although, some forecasts are now decreasing the amount of snow the greater DC area is supposed to get, instead of 12-18" now they are talking about "only" getting 10-15. Yippee.
