I'd think a long time before I posted the sorority that you have had such mixed feelings about.
You are probably where you were meant to be and will know that before the year is out. |
right i didn't want to reveal it in such controversy. i just want to be honest. i didn't have the perfect recruitment and i am working through that and trying to make the best of it

disclaimer: i have decided to pledge eyeliner and truly try to make the best of it. for whatever reason there are always things in life that do not go our way and it does not make sense to not try and improve what we get. the additional comments i make are concerns i can not help but having. expressing them and talking them out helps me get through things. some of you may suggest forget about it and move on. i am not that type of person. i need to release before i heal (to be hokey)
that is true although i do feel as if i am able to tell where i am liked and not. it was pretty obvious that i knew mascara would drop me after the third day.i could tell. obviously i will never know for sure, but i am fairly confident that if i listed blush first i would have gotten a bid another thing that concerns me is the dues. all but eyeliner are about 2500 a year while eyeliner is 1500 a year. i don't like that because obviously everything we are doing is less extravagant |
sometimes the difference in dues can be what is included in the dues. for instance, the higher dues might include all t-shirts, all parties, retreats, formal and semi-formal, while your chapter might have the members pay separately for those things. that could be a benefit-if you aren't going to attend the formal, you're not paying for it. don't hesitate to ask the treasurer to explain what your dues cover-or you can wait-i'll bet she is scheduled to speak at one of your new member meetings.

that is true, i will definitely ask
|
Also, a difference in cost may have to do with the NATIONAL fees of the sorority. If Blush's National charges higher National dues, pledging fees, initation fees, etc. than Eyeliner, their overall costs are going to be higher.
Also, what FSUZeta says is true. There were chapters with dues LOWER than ours who had ALOT of social events because they didn't include it in the price and asked girls to pay out of pocket for them. |
I can't believe you're complaining because your dues are too LOW.

That's a first. |
I think the complaint is about being nickeled and dimed to death.

hey guys just a quick update. things are going better. all the girls are so nice and we have a mixer tonight. something bad happened where someone said something to me about how i didn't belong in that chapter because of their rep and i basically told him off
|
Good for you! To hades with haters....
You can do big things in your new chapter - get involved, be a good sister, be a leader!! |
lol i actually asked one of the seniors when/how i could be an officer and she jokingly said "trying to take over all ready, eh?"
