Yup, I'm 30, spend all my time on a message board and I am STILL fabulous! Ask about me. By the way, you want me to just paypal you the two hundred bucks so you can stop crying about it? |
This isn't necessarily about me getting my money back, but also all of the other people who lost money to them as well.
I am assuming besides the time you spend on here, you spend some time at work as well. I don't know what your job is now, or how much money you had when you were in college...but I know that as a college student I am trying to help pay for college, rent, groceries, books, etc, while working at an internship, trying to make a little money by working part time, and worrying about my parents who are both not working. My dad is retired, and my mom has a vision disability that prevents her from working. We moved 3 years ago after my dad retired and our old house has been on the market for close to 4 years without selling, therefore my parents are trying to pay two mortgages, as well as help put me, their 7th child (5th to go to college), through college. My dad is in his late 60's and has been trying to find a job for the past few months because things are starting to get harder on our family. Unfortunately, many people do not want to hire someone who is almost 70 years old, so he is having a hard time finding employment. I am not by any means saying there are not people worse off financially than myself, but I am saying that $200 dollars which may not be a lot to some people, is a lot of money to me. Anyway, my point here is, yes you got over it. Maybe I should get over it too, but every time I see a story of someone else getting ripped off again by them, I can't help but get upset again. When I got ripped off I felt confused and hurt and until I found this thread I felt alone. Once I started noticing others were in the same situation as myself, I realized this was not just a one time occurrence, and I felt like something needed to be done about it. While you are 30 years old and have many experiences in life and I'm sure with different Greek clothing companies, I am only 20 and am new to the Greek community and am still learning and maturing. Maybe I am not handling this situation in quite the way you would have and maybe I am holding a grudge that you would have let go by this point. Maybe I am young and naive, and don't want to believe that companies can get away with taking advantage of so many people, and maybe I feel like somehow I can help others in my situation while also helping myself and preventing others from getting ripped off, which I guess is not the case. My intentions are not to "spam" the thread about how much I hate greekclothing.com, I just wanted to share my experience with others and see if there is anything that can be done about this situation. Senusret, I wasn't trying to judge or be offensive about your age or how often you post on the forum, I was just getting defensive because I guess I felt almost attacked by you, so I apologize. |

I don't see what does not line up. I was initiated during spring semester 2009 so I have only been in the sorority for almost a year. I am only an intern at IHQ and all interns are collegians. Anyway, thank you for accepting my apology. |
Sorry, the last part of the last post is to Senusret 1.

greek ave USED to be good
hey...just thought i would let you guys know...i used them over the summer and they worked great. when i decided to use them again in december, it has not gone well. they do not respond to email, phone lines dont work...something is going on with the company.
no matter what people say about previous positive experience, ignore it....they have CHANGED |
Here's the weird thing...I ordered from them two weeks ago and my order came in a little under a week. I had no problem with my experience...maybe they're subjective?
|
HA!
That's crazy. But I'm happy you got your stuff, especially during a busy time of year. |
They went bankrupt!
Or so I've been told. BaltoAlphaPsi told me that greekclothing.com went bankrupt and is now under new ownership or something along those lines. People who ordered after January 6th will get refunded and anyone before that has to dispute it with their credit card company. I wish I had the email to reference... :/ |
Unfortunately I hadn't seen this thread, so one of my sisters and I ordered from the website in the first week of February. We just got our stuff last week, finally! I know that shipping internationally takes time but it shouldn't take that long. While the quality is good, I would avoid it if there is any type of time constraint.

Here's the email I received:
Greekclothing.com LLC has gone bankrupt and was liquidated and is under new ownership. I’m sorry for the bad news but the company is undergoing new ownership and this process will take few months to have all the paperwork straightened out (we are still fulfilling recent orders). Our sincerest apologize. They were experiencing financial problems which obviously lead them to the bankruptcy. You will want to follow up with your credit card company and file a dispute for the charges. Sorry again for the bad news. The new owners have taken on all orders from January 7th 2010, forward and shipping in 7-10 days. Greekclothing.com greekom@greekave.com |

Does anyone know why they are still sending out emails with specials if they went bankrupt? Or why they are not responding to anything? |
Sorry for the swerve on this, and this may be redundant, but is there a reason that the Greek Clothing emblem in the upper left corner of their site looks like the Chi Omega crest? ::shrug::
|
I had orderd a bunch of stuff for brothers in my chapter on April 18th, its now May 21st and have yet to get an email about shipping, I have tried to contact them multiple times in the past 2 weeks, no replys. They do offer good deals, but should keep their estimated manufacturing times true and keep customers updated. I will never buy from them again!!
