Will someone post a picture of a mom haircut? Cause I hear people talking about them all the time, but I don't really know what one looks like. :) I need to make sure I don't accidentally get one.

Short and "easy to manage." It's the look of giving up on trying to look good because you only have time for the kids.

Don't be that girl who:

- can't respect other people's relationships
- fishes for compliments so much that it's borderline annoying
- hates on other females b/c of their own insecurities

Don't be that girl who is rabidly on the Husband Hunt:
  • Stalks every guy in the bar who's known to be currently or recently single
  • Cries if she sees an ex (even if they went out on one date) and his new girlfriend in the bar
  • Gets mad when "less desirable" people get into relationships
  • Gets upset when the guy she's been passive-aggresively flirting with goes home with another girl
  • Gets upset when the guy she's been passive-aggressively flirting with talks to another girl

This isn't a composite sketch of several people, either. This is ONE person who's done all of this stuff within the past 6-8 weeks or so. She insisted that 2009 would be "her year"--the year she met the guy she was going to marry. Well, we're halfway through August and it's not looking too good for her.

Yeah . . . "Ultimatum Girl" is a crappy trope by itself, but I think the "Long-Term Relationship Ultimatum Girl" is the worst of the bunch. Sounds like you have the worst possible case on your hands - good luck with that. I'd set her up with some douchey lawyer you know, just to shut her up, then watch her life deteriorate into shambles.

Once she hits bottom, maybe . . . MAYBE she'll get her shit back together. Maybe.

This reminds me of one of my friends at happy hour a few months ago. She's one of those "hubby hunt" types. I had just found out that one of our college major friends had gotten engaged:

Me: Oh you know, Friend got engaged over the weekend.
Her: WHAT?
Other Friend: Yeah, boyfriend proposed. So happy for them.
Her: That's SO unfair.
Other Friend: What's unfair?
Her: Seriously? Mutual friend is a size 18 with cankles and gets engaged and I'm STILL single?
Me: Um, ok then.

So apparently, anyone who is larger than she is, should not be getting a bf, getting engaged, or married before her.

Okay, that's a little extreme, but let's be real--It's difficult not to feel some kinda way when you're single and "that girl" is getting married. Not the one Violet's talking about, but "that girl" who's so catty and self-absorbed no one can stand to be around her or the one who screws any male with a pulse or the one who doesn't bathe for a week at a time. Though it's kinda tacky to say it out loud, when THOSE girls get engaged, everybody wonders. Just sayin'.

What you need to ask yourself is.. would you want the guy who wants "that girl"?

dont be that girl...........

-who cant stand that other women are confident, sexy, and comfortable in their own skin......even if they arent a size 6
- thinks that every guy is "mr right" and would "never hurt you".........a little commen sense can prevent A LOT of heart ache
- has to match her purse, with her shoes, with her top!
- who looks down on women who dont want to be married by the time their 25 with 4 kids a house and a dog....we dont all want to be super mom

It's okay to be upset in the situation where you run into an ex and his new girl someplace, especially if you're single. But crying in the bar? It wasn't even as if she ran into them at Pottery Barn alone or something. This was at the bar with all of us there for moral support.
