Exactly. But she posted it on the internet. Why I'm not allowed to present to her my opinion, based on the facts I've been given, is beyond me.

You're allowed to do anything you want. Whether your opinion is justifiable based upon the 'facts,' is debatable.

You’re suggesting that the "facts" she stated aren’t true. If that’s the case, that’s her problem. I’m only giving my opinion based on what she’s told us, and I don’t think my analysis of the presented situation is completely outlandish and laughable, as you seemed to imply.

I am amazed as to how much some of you folks can glean from a couple of posts on the internet from a person you don't know and about a person you don't know. Truly amazing.

Happens on GC all the time. Why is this thread any different?

Oh, but you are. The only thing is on greekchat it all depends on who you are. Remember, greekchatters respond to usernames not the posts.

I agree with you 100%.

You're totally making a big deal out of nothing. Who cares if it's debatable, just respond to the OP. Geez.

I debated whether it was getting ridiculous just responding to this crap.. but what the hell. It's GC.

I suggested that the facts could be wrong, but that they absolutely were incomplete -- that you internet relationship experts are reaching completely indefensible positions based on no facts.

For example, she says that she's known this guy since the seventh grade or whatever. From that, you are able to somehow reach the conclusion you did. That's just amazing.

I can understand the personal advice that some are giving, i.e., that virginity is somehow between you and your God and whatnot, or that the decision to give up one's virginity is important. That's fine. Otherwise, you're just being absurd.

ASTalumna06 12-22-2008 06:44 PM

Thank you to those who believe the analysis of my analysis is getting out of hand.

Basically, all I'm saying is that the whole situation is ridiculous, whether she's known this kid for 6 years or not. IMO (based on what she's said), he's a 20-year-old who wants some sex. If she wants to wait for "the one", I would suggest she wait until the kid at least asks her out. If she just wants some sex, go for it. The end.

And I definitely need to try that cliff-jumping Christmas sweater thing.

Kevin 12-22-2008 06:46 PM

lol.. why not? Message boards are places where disagreement is encouraged so long as it's reasonable.

Now, I think some folks here are being completely unreasonable by posting unjustifiable opinions.

They're still free to disagree with me, but that doesn't stop me from loling at them projecting their own issues.

Agreed that someone running to GC over this issue is utterly ridiculous though. I think I've been clear on that from the get go.

DrPhil 12-22-2008 07:01 PM

:)

Dramatic posts on GC are a main stay. I LOL at them, especially the ones in response to the man who didn't speak English and was wearing some sorority hat. But I mostly blame the people who keep bringing their stories, questions and concerns to GC.

Isn't this the part where SHEETCAKE runs in with a "Congrats on losing/keeping your virginity" cake?

Nope, you're not the only one thinking this. I agree with you. Based on the OP, this "Chris" dude just sounds like he wants sex which to me is only a physical connection, and that to me is lame. If the joker doesn't want not only a physical connection, but also a spiritual, mental and emotional connection with this young lady, then she shouldn't even get involved with him. Since our sexuality is who we are, then that means (as people) we are made with a mind, heart and spirit, not just a body. When the physical part of it is lined up with the other three, then, that, to me reflects balance and integrity. That's what it boils down to, balance and integrity....IMO.

But yeah, I agree here. He just wants the nookie and not the woman.

Do they make those? I mean as long as it doesn't say Adolf Hitler, I guess it's fair game, but still....

And I will donate my whole year's salary to PB's cause of choice if he can go a week without using the word "joker". We've had this talk, boy. http://thesaurus.reference.com/
