I know this is an old thread but I have a question and a comment. Does UCSB have a large number of girls break rush? 27 seems like an awfully low quota for a campus with 11 chapters and 400 girls rushing. Also the number of bids for each house seem inconsistent with the quota. Was it just this year because of the computer malfunction?
On my campus juniors are free (they aren't counted in quota.) I guess I just always assumed that this was the way it was figured on all campuses. It always works well for us.

Yes, UCSB has a lot of women drop out of rush. This year they had more women register for rush than last year but quota was two lower and a lot less women joined (fewer houses made quota). This is not a computer malfunction problem. The scanner broke down in Fall 2000 rush as well.

There are a lot of reasons why retention of rushees is low, but Stephen, the new GA at UCSB is working hard to change things. We should all wish him the best of luck!

Sunny, we are still dying to know what happened!

look UCSB is a good school, you definitely dont need to go greek to make something of your life when you go to a school like that. She's already graduated from college and I dont know if we will ever know whether she got her COB or not, but come on ucsb not fsu or lsu, she'll get a really good job afterward.

People on the west coast don't join sororities/fraternities to get jobs. We can do that just fine on our own once we graduate. We join GLOs for other reasons.

thats exactly my point, schools in california are GOOD, most of them rank in the top 100. "Becca" is probably doing fine, but she got way too overconfident.
