For what it's worth, I counted 25 on the ADPi site. I've been away from Pitt for a while now - is this Spring Recruitment, as in addition to the Fall Recruitment? How did the other chapters do?

And while I'm interrogating you ;) what's Total now?

A photo on the Kappa chapter of Theta Phi Alpha's Instagram account shows 24 new members. :)

Edit: The Theta Phi Alpha National Office Twitter account confirms this.

I believe that they now require a certain amount of college credit to rush now - the equivalent of the first freshman semester. Thus, spring rush is going to be more predominate.

Was total raised higher to accommodate the closure of Tri Delta there?

I do not know total but I do know this was an interesting year at Pitt. They switched to deferred recruitment, but of instead of having a lull in 2015 and just start in spring 2016, they decided to have two formal recruitment periods. This new one with the new rules.

I certainly hope not. There were some chapters with 20+ spaces to fill. I think they just have a high transfer/ withdraw rate that affects the groups. They could have greatly benefitted from resetting total this semester before informal recruitment. When 6 out of 7 groups are COBing and some need 20+......

I agree about West Georgia. And this is like the 2nd or 3rd year in a row that every/almost every group is taking spring new members. Not that that is a bad thing, per se, but has to be exhausting nonetheless. If anything it seems they would benefit from total being lowered, like average chapter size -5% or something.

ETA: I thought total was supposed to be reset each semester now...? Like the first week of the non-primary recruitment period or something?

It just really depends on the vibe of the school. I can see some schools having a "not wanting to be left out" of informal rush mentality. Others (and I would fit into this category) hated rush enough that keeping it to once a year would be worth it. If they dropped total, the more struggling chapter would really benefit since they would likely pick up some of those girls who are going to the more competitive chapters who then wouldn't qualify to take girls through informal.

It sounds like they are figuring total based on the largest chapter instead of the average chapter. That really isn't helpful.

Does anyone have numbers for the chapters at University of Richmond?

Alpha Gamma Delta at The Ohio State University welcomed 62 new members home at bid night tonight, per Instagram. Congratulations to all! :)
