On one side of the family, they're always posting "Inspirations of the Day," even though my heathen ass is more pious than all of theirs combined. I saw this on my cousin's page. This wasn't him, but a friend. See if you can decipher this:

"well hit dat nail rite on da head cuz there r times i am not myself u no sumtimes i just feel da pressures of da world & its xpectations squeezing da breath outta me den theres dem confused days da single parent blues days & den da awww man back n da days days but with all dat bein said i still try to maintain my sanity with keeping a strong base faithfully & spiritually"

Worse yet, people are liking it! I can't even understand it to determine if I like it or not.

My best shot at a translation:

Well, hit that nail right on the head, (be)cause there are times I am not myself. You know, sometimes I just feel the pressures of the world and its expectations squeezing the breath out of me. Then, there's (those) confused days, the single parent blues days, and then the, "Aww man, back in the day..." days. But with all that being said, I still try to maintain my sanity with keeping a strong base faithfully & spiritually.

Precisely, old chum. There are times when I no longer feel as if I am truly myself. The incredible pressures from society's expectations are like an inescapable grip squeezing the very air from my lungs. Some days I feel confused, some days I feel like singing the blues due to being an unmarried parent with a child, other days I reminisce upon happier times. However, despite these trials and tribulations, I manage to maintain a sense of mental stability due to the strong faith and spiritual background I have developed over the years.

/my interpretive translation.

"it would be nice if people could mind their own business"

followed 7 minutes later by

"It's great when you discover who your real friends are."

Ugh do not fight on facebook. Grow. Up.

I know that this is an old thread, but I could not resist responding. This is in regards to content and language. One of my facebook friends posted this last year on his status:
"Hey facebook, what it do?" Ya boy need a dependan to carry on my taxes. Hit me up on my inbox and let's do this."

Speechless! Why in the world would anyone get on a social networking site asking to assist him in defrauding the IRS???

I am so damn tired of seeing people using "should of" instead of the contraction-should've!!!!

I went to college with a lot of people who did this. I felt the same way.

I came across this gem about Grey's Anatomy and decided to share. It's actually one of the better ones that have come across my screen today: "Omg! Season 5 finale...best ever! I was not expecting it to b george! Genious writers! Omg phenominal!"

There were some doozies that I had to block from my news feed. It's not bad grammar TMI. I just can't bring my self to repost the atrocities.

This isn't necessarily a complaint on bad grammar, but on FB grammar Nazis (lol)

I have someone on my feeds who is an English teacher and who will get on people's FB statuses to correct their grammar. BUUUUUUT she is constantly misspelling things on her FB statuses and when people correct her she throws a fit. Soooo you can do it to us, but we can't do it back to you. I call BS on that, and it's annoying---"oh it's cause I was typing too fast."

Actually, she should have said "typing too quickly." LOL!!! That's super lame, though.

lol! I didn't even engage it, some of her other FB friends did though. Like apparently it's ok for her to make a mistake and not be corrected, but it's not ok for us. It's annoying.

I put up a status about something being "funnier" and she was like "noo, it's MORE FUN." I just told her regardless, I think it's "funnier" so that is the way I'm going to say it, I don't care if it's wrong. Pretty sure I was right though---funny, funnier, funniest.
