I think I paid $2.64 the other day, on Memorial Day, actually and I figured it was high because of the holiday, but I believe it has gone up since then.
ETA: I read that yahoo article too, and thought of GC as I read it! |
Dear Fuel companies:
You should offer a deal where we can buy gas at $x.xx per gallon on a decling blanace type card, so we can "lock in" a price and we'd always buy from you and you'd have the money regardless. Say you buy 100 gallons at $2.00 a gallon, you'd have $200 sold and we'd get 100 gallons. Think how you'd promote brand loyalty and help people who want to take road trips, commute, or are moving as they can prepay for fuel and stick to a budget. Colleges and Universities offer this and it has yet to be overly problematic. If you see this idea and would like to market it, PM me so I don't come and sue you later. Keep on truckin', VandalSquirrel |
Calm down people, so far, your fill up has changed at most $10 per tank of gas, that's not that huge of a deal.

I paid $2.98 yesterday. Anyone dealing with prices over $3.00? Somehow I just didn't notice it soaring back up this time. Not sure how that happened!
$50 to fill up. Boo. |
It was 3.19 here for a while. Dipped back down to about 3.05 in the last week. Thank god I drive a Civic.
|
$3.15 here. Definitely glad I drive a Corolla that's really good on gas. Yesterday I used a lot more than usual to get to school which really sucked because now I'm down to just under half a tank again and need to go spend another $20 because I don't like it to get under a quarter of a tank in the cold weather and snow.
|
We pay $8,07 per gallon..
(1,65 euro per liter) yeah... I'll take the bus |
It's around $3.09 for cash, $3.15 for credit. I think they were afraid to up the prices during the big oil spill so they're doing it now.
|
When I drove out to Chicago for Christmas week, I was shocked to see that EVERY gas station in Ohio had their regular gas at $2.99 or lower; the minute you crossed a state border (Indiana, West VIrginia, Illinois, or Pennsylvania), the least expensive was $3.09. How does Ohio do it?
|
^^^They don't. I haven't seen gas under 3 in a few weeks.

It may be cheaper, but marginally. The tax difference is something like 6 or 7 cents a gallon.
|
This past weekend our area was still under $3.00 Tuesday it was 3.06. This morning was $3.10 and this afternoon I paid $3.29 at that same station.
I recognize, and am grateful, that our region of the country is not as expensive as others. But seriously? Almost 20 cents in just a few hours? |
Yesterday it was $3.29, today it was $3.39. I was grumbling when I paid $3.14 this past weekend! I'm sure glad I did it now!
