Stay encouraged Missam. This is the hardest thing I've had to do in my life, but it takes consistency and drive. Stay encouraged. ;)

I'm gonna try!

It's 12:43 and I really, really want that hot dog. :-(

How do you keep the nighttime cravings at bay? I've been drinking water but it doesn't help.

Missam05 06-25-2007 10:33 AM

Give in..

Maybe not a hot dog though. Keep it small and HEALTHY (as healthy as possible)

Make sure you're drinking water THROUGHOUT the day..not just when the craving comes

Agreed.

I'd have a hot dog but make it a good quality hot dog, watch my serving size, microwave it instead of frying it, few condiments, etc.

But then I actually like hot dogs eaten that way so YMMV.

I know that when I forbid myself something it makes me want it all the more. Having it but controlling portions is the key for me.

Ya know they say that if you crave something, you should wait like 15 or 20 min., busying yourself with something else, and if after 20 min, you still want it, then you should have it. But I agree..if you do have it, control the portion size.

One thing I've found that helps me with fighting certain cravings is having a handful of walnuts (and I'on like walnuts like that) and a glass of water, but something in walnuts makes you full....I got that from Dr. Oz (Oprah's Dr. :D)

Any of you ever notice that when you're really craving something and you get it, it's not worth the points? Last week, after my meeting, in celebration of my 10lb sticker, I decided to "treat" myself to Taco Cabana. I wrestled with this decision but gave in--I could have and should have had a v8.

Oh, and lovelyivy, what does YMMV mean?

I have had that happen, but rarely because my indulgences are all bought at Whole Foods. And there's nothing there that isn't ABSOLUTELY worth it.

YMMV = your milage may vary

I have taken to eating either light or FF hot dogs and I still fry them up but I use the FF cooking spray, they still taste just as good.

Missam05 06-25-2007 10:04 PM

Fried hot dogs...you talking about in a pan??

I still boil mine.

I had some vegetarian pizzas today (on whole wheat pitas) pretty good..hopefully I won't be snacking too much tonight.

kiml122 06-26-2007 05:10 AM

Yeah I boil mine most of the time as well, but sometimes I want that fried taste, and when I do I use the cooking spray.:)

I order FF pizza's and I put low calorie fixings on them and they are really good. If interested here is the website to order them.

I'm back from my disney trip of 8 days. I feared I would gain weight but I didn't. I actaully lost 4 pounds. Who loses weight on vacation? I'm sure it's cause I was only eating like twice a day. I suspect that I will gain 2 pounds this week. I'm working extra hard to try and avoid that.

With the 4 pounds lost, I reached my first goal weight of 185. I was 184.8 down from 202 in January on Sunday. Monday I was 185.8. Since I did male my goal, I went and got my treat...a bluetooth. woot woot.

M next goal for a treat is 170. I'm getting a really really nice digital camera.

My son says..."Is my mom hot or what?" LOL

As for the hot dogs. I like them but I am a freak about eating an undercooked hotdog. I boil mine for about 10 minutes, THEN I fry it using Pam spray as well.

Well now that wedding and graduation are a done deal now. I recently discovered that I gained 15lbs. :( I did begin to feel unhealthy and sluggish after a while.

On a good note, my job has a wellness program where I am given 3 admin hours per week to work out. The fitness facility is pretty decent and once I stick to a routine, those lbs will be gone in no time. So I am definitely motivated even though it sucks that I can't have Chipotle for a while.

I just got back from the scale -- I lost seven pounds since starting Extreme Fat Smash! I am on the 16th day.

I am now at 197.

I tried doing a search within this thread, but couldn't come up with anything. So please forgive me if I'm re-posting! :o

I was wondering if anyone has done the Abs Diet. I just bought the book yesterday and it sounds pretty good, but I'm wondering if it's one of those 'too good to be true' type deals.

I've gained weight since graduating, and while a good deal of it went to my hindparts (yay, I've got a cute bootay now! LOL) my tummy's got a pooch going on too.

The book says you can transform your body in 6 weeks. I'm trying to drop about 15-20 lbs if possible as well.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
