I may have said this before, but I never got the garter thing for a prom. What is really going on?

heehee its the only other POPULAR night girls lose their virginity lol! i guess they feel they should include something that would be on their wedding day!

Think they designed these *cough* dresses, themselves? They are obviously "custom" constructed.

No way I would be involved in my daughters wearing something like these!

I was wondering that too. They all look "home constructed" so I'm wondering if they design them as well (future contestants on Project Runway). Some are better than others, some make me shudder.

LOL, I thought the same thing. All of the garters, stretch marks, bullet wounds, and Sha-nay-nay hair styles look a mess. I just drop my mouth in awe each time I see a new set of pictures. It get's worse each time.

If my daughter even thought about it, she'd be going to prom in a nun's habit.
These proms look like B.A.P.S. Junior edition.

The phrase that starts all of this nonsense:

"Girl, I can make you a dress!"

People get so worried that they're gonna get to prom and someone else will be wearing the same thing, they just went out of control with their need to be unique. Foolishness. Awful looking dresses with no lining and piss-poor construction. I have a young relative (in-law, but still...) who wore a prom dress like those in the pics - criss-crossed ribbon, satin (of course) and more skin than the law allowed. Her mom and grandmother thought it was the cutest/sexiest thing. The pic is still on the family's mantle and her prom was two or three years ago. Of course, looking at her life now, prom probably was her shining moment. Shame.

I would guess that this is the case for most of the people pictured recently in this thread. After prom, their life is probably all down hill.........

YES! These are the pics I attempted to post, but I did it wrong, and when I tried from photobucket, I couldn't enlarge them. Anyway...

As I'm looking at the fourth pic (the couple has red/white on, and the "guy" has on a top hat), it appears that the "male" may be a female. Look at the little bulge in the jacket and it appears that "he" has titays. Hmmmmm..... http://greek9.com/forum/Smileys/default/thinking.gif Maybe I'm looking too hard at the photo.

RedefinedDiva 06-28-2008 11:35 PM

^^ Yes, it's a girl. I didn't even bother pointing that out because so much more is wrong with these photos.... LOL!

AlphaFrog 06-30-2008 05:41 AM

You know, the top red & white couple (the one where the guy is actually a guy) isn't so terrible. Tacky? Absolutely, but at least they're covered and somewhat appropriate.
