While reading through our magazine archives I stumbled upon an article that's useful as the dates are not listed by the university.

The Eta Beta chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority was installed at Bradley university on November 12, 2000. It is still presently active.

EDIT:

Beta Phi- West Virginia University was closed by Winter 2002, which is the beginning of the year in our calendar, so it is ambiguous if it was closed in 2001 or 2002. But it was functioning around Fall 2001.

Sigma Xi- Bethany College in West Virginia relinquished its charter March 8, 2002 due to low membership.

Zeta Phi- Pittsburg State University in Kansas was colonized in April 1997 and relinquished its charter on May 6, 2001 due to low membership.

Gamma Omicron- Slippery Rock State University in Pennsylvania was closed in 1999 for hazing.

Beta Kappa- University of Tennessee- Chattanooga was recolonized in 1999.

Not numbers, put an article about Vanderbilt changing their process.

"In past years, potential new members (PNMs) rushed in what was known as the “10-7-5-3” format. They visited all ten of the sorority houses on the Display Round, seven houses on Philanthropy Round, five houses on Entertainment Round, and three on Preference Night.
This year, they are switching to a 10-8-5-2 format. The PNMs will still visit all ten houses on Display Round, but will return now to a maximum of eight houses on Philanthropy Round. They will visit five houses on Entertainment, just like they did in past years, but will only go to a maximum of two on Preference Night."

Ok I got bored yesterday (office closed due to flooding rains) so I decided to research the dates that had question marks. I researched a lot more than I got answers for, but here is what I was able to find (in state order, as they appear in the beginning of the thread):

(Source: chapter website)

University of Cincinnati - Sigma Delta Tau - closed 2002 or later (based on linked source which stipulates their house was occupied until that date)
(Source: UC Library Archives)

Wittenberg University - Delta Zeta - early 1990s (based on alumnae comments on the announcement that they would be presenting this week for expansion)

Oregon
Oregon State - Pi Beta Phi - at least 1982
(source: article on historical buildings citing that year as one their house was added. Not the firmest, I know).

Pennsylvania
Gettysburg College - Alpha Xi Delta - closed 1999
(source: 'Weekly Gettysburgian' Article)

Lehigh University - Delta Zeta - 1995/96
(Source: article in "The Morning Call" archives)

University of Pennsylvania (source: articles from "the daily Pennsylvanian")
- Pi Beta Phi - closed 2000 - Article
- Phi Sigma Sigma - 1926-2002, 2004-2010 - Article

I apologize if there are any typographical errors, I'm doing this from my phone which is not the easiest!

I was at Tarleton when ASA colonized in Fall 1988; installed 1991, closed in 1993.

temp closed--spam protection

irishpipes 11-09-2015 02:54 PM

I get the closing for spam protection, but I can't edit anymore. The edit button is gone. Will that be returning?

carnation 11-09-2015 03:56 PM

The edit button should still be there! I can see it when I'm on under moe's name.

irishpipes 11-09-2015 04:39 PM

It's back. I know LaneSig couldn't edit his colonies thread either. Weird.

ETA: I can edit these recent posts, but not the original ones on the first two pages - the ones I need to edit! The edit button has disappeared from those.

shellylou 11-15-2015 12:48 PM

Can't post on the extension/colony thread so posting here. Theta Phi Alpha has been invited to colonize at Hartwick College in New York.

AZTheta 11-15-2015 12:59 PM

Kappa Alpha Theta installed the Theta Lambda chapter at the University of Rochester on 11-14-15. No details on how many members were initiated.

AZTheta 11-17-2015 01:10 AM

^^^ I'd like to EDIT that and MOVE IT to LaneSig's thread but I cannot because THERE IS NO EDIT BUTTON.
