While I agree that all of these groups, NPC/local/multicultural, have wonderful things to offer, I can still understand where you are coming from about wanting to be part of an NPC organization. I have loved my affliation with an organization that has such rich, longstanding tradition, which links me to literally hundreds of thousands of women across the country and internationally. I love the instant bond that you have with someone that you meet in the grocery store, in the airport, whatever who has something with your letters on it, and you can walk right up to them and instantly have something in common. I'm not trying to say anything against non-NPC GLO's, and I'm sure they have things to offer that I don't even have a clue about having never been a part of these organizations. I'm just saying that I understand Wishinhopin's desire to affiliate with an NPC org.
Stick with it - you have come so far!

HEADS UP

If you all do decide to go panhel, be prepared for some resistance from other sororities. Especially if you all have a weak or small greek system. An additional sorority within the same conference will definately cause more competition not only for them, but for your OWN organization. Do you think your organization can survive the competition? If you think so, go for it!!!

Yeah she can, and she DID. She wants NPC. And you left your org (lucky them) so how would know anything about how they work?

Because, Hello! I was in a similar situation.

I never said she didn't want NPC. I guess when you're no longer in your chapter I guess you won't know how they work either.

BACK ON TOPIC, NOW............

If you're going to contribute why don't you read the entire thread. (not being rude, it will help you in contributing) If you have been paying any attention, there is one NPC group on campus and two locals, NBO and Alpha Psi. Corina has done her homework alright, she's very prepared.

I apologize, I did read that, but I totally forgot it. I would delete my post but someone quoted it.

Oh my gosh, I don't check GC for one day and there's all this drama on the thread! I appreciate the warnings (on both ends) but I'm going into this with a positive attitude and I'm confident that we can do it. Of course I have my periods of feeling insecure, but ultimately, my own organization and the invaluable advice from everyone I've encountered (especially here!!) has left me with the strength to do this. So thank you all, I'll keep you posted as always!
love, Corina

Woah!

Woah ladies, ladies!
I'm SO sorry if my comment started of a little chat war  That was never my intent.
I just wanted to say that no matter what you are (local, NPC, MC, etc.) as long as you love your letters and your sisters, thats what matters most. I just didn't want ANYONE to loose site of that. To me, being Greek is amazing! Sorry if I started a riff for some of you guys :( Never ever my intent... I think we should wait to hear from WishinHopin....
WishinHopin - What's been going on the past few days????

Dionysus 04-07-2002 07:30 PM

No problem, wish.

LOL! Oh no, it wasn't your fault! That was directed towards me (something personal). Drama seems to follow me for some reason... matter of fact this is a BIG improvement (20 posts without flaming each other).
