Thank you :)

Big hugs to you. You really don't have to be the strong one. Nobody has to be the strong one. You can all be a wreck together. It's ok to be a wreck. It's ok to be in "oh shit my mother has cancer" mode. Put it all in God's hands. You'll be in my prayers. |

My church music director died a few days ago, and very few people could make the funeral due to the Iago storm. Please pray for peace for my home congregation.
He was the inspiration for my becoming a church music major, and he encouraged me to get more musically involved in college. My heart is broken. |

Mr. LP has a pretty decent lead on a job. It's not a teaching position, but it's related to education. I really hope he gets this because A) it could be the start of an entirely new career path in a field that he's been considering for the past several months B) if he does decide he wants to get into teaching later on, he'll be networking with TONS of educators in this new position, so hopefully that would help him find a job later. Also, he seems legitimately intrigued and excited about this opportunity, which I haven't seen from him in a long time. That makes me happy :)
It would also be great so we can start saving up a bit more money for a house within the next few years. Anywho, prayers & kind thoughts would be appreciated! |
My SiL (brothers wife, the ones who got married last summer?) is pregnant, and could use your prayers. She's only 29 weeks and is in full labor and is 7 cm dilated, the magnesium and steroids didn't stop her labor. So all 3 of them could use some prayers right now!

AEPhi Alum,
From one AEPhi to another.....My thoughts are with you. My mom also had esophageal cancer. She was 76 and did not have surgery. Radiation and oral chemo. I am thinking of you. Feel free to pm me if I can help. |
clarinette, lovespink, and IrishLake, prayers headed your way.
camom, thank you for your well wishes. :) My mother had her first chemo treatment today. It seems that the treatment went as well as can be expected. She's in good hands - her oncologist trained at NYU (where my dad went to med school) and Memorial Sloan-Kettering (where my mom practiced for a few years). My mother has put the kibosh on surgery. She's seen the surgery from the anesthesiologist's side, and she doesn't want to experience it from the patient's side - she'd rather die. But we're hopeful that the chemo and whatever other treatment the oncologist suggests will get her through. We will just have to take it one day at a time... |
Praying for you!

A group of friends and I attended the Oakland Art Murmur event last night where there was an altercation, and gunshots were fired killing a young man and wounding others. My group stayed behind for a while because two of my friends are nurses and helped out until the ambulances got there. Even though I didn't know the young man, I am reeling from the pointless loss of life that occurred right in front of me; I hope that you will join me in praying for him and his family. He was a brother/son/friend, any other relationship you can think of to someone else and I am sure that he is being missed and mourned this morning.

My mom was admitted to the hospital today.
Her birthday is in a week. I hope she makes it. :( |
