I don't mean to spoil anyones appetite, but the worms I had mentioned before are ascarids which are found in cats and dogs, but it's just another species of Toxocara canis whos larvae can migrate in people. You also invite tapeworms and stomach worms if you continue to eat rare meat. Believe me, you'll know you've got them because depending on the parasite, you will have stomach inflamation which can result in vomiting, loss of appetite ect ect. I think you get the idea.

If you want to have these living inside of you, keep eating rare. Your intestines will make a great home for them...rent free.;)

Did a tour guide tell you this?

Raw Bay Scallops (right after you go scalloping and clean them)
Raw Shrimp
Raw Oysters (one of my favorites)
Raw Tuna (right after you catch it, cut one into chunks and eat it on the boat)
All sorts of other raw seafood, both stuff I've caught and wanted to try raw and sushi
Cow Tongue - excellent in burritos
Chitlins
Liver (beef and venison)
Chicken Livers
Squirrel (it IS good)
Pig Feet
Blood Sausages
All sorts of game birds (duck, geese, pheasant, quail, etc.)

And all sorts of other random seafood and game - if you're from down south they don't seem exotic though

ETA: I've also had "head cheese" and "brains & eggs". Don't know how I forgot two of the more odd things.

raw oysters
caviar
ceviche
tripe
foie gras
fried rattlesnake
venison
cow tongue-really good as fajitas
steak tartar(sp?)-can't bring myself to eat it anymore, although I used to love it!!!
chicken feet
pigs blood-never again. got one bite down, and no thank you!

Unless you eat spinach. Or lettuce. Or tomatoes. Or baby formula in China.

What's up with the Chinese baby formula?

SOPi_Jawbreaker 09-24-2008 02:08 PM

Turns out it's not made from 100% Chinese babies.

Serious question -does it matter if it's red squirrel or gray squirrel?

Well, I didn't know! Geez.

Buffalo, calamari, kangaroo and alligator (gator on a stick at a festival). I never ordered any of these, but I tasted a little of each (and spit them out before I gagged).

Some of your lists make mine look tame.

I've only had gray squirrel before (lot more of them down here). I would doubt whether it really matters much though.
