Oh btw, swag wag is something I just made up right then so don't worry about that one...jus know when its time to get fresh, we get fresh |
^^^That whole comment and the "Swag Wag."
So, young man, what do you plan on studying when you get to college? |

If you feel comfortable, post the essay so we can see. |

Where should I post it, and you design cars? That must be a sweet career huh, and yeah it's so demanding that people that already go to UA are like, you're worried about Pledging and you should be worried about sleeping and I'm like it cant be that demanding can it |
Quote:
Nope. Believe me, you won't get a lot of sleep preparing for any design field. It's very competitive, and from what I hear, architecture is very demanding. Are you passionate about it? If you're passionate about it, you won't let the fact that it's demanding stop you. I'm about to go to bed, but I'll look forward to reading your essay. Stick with it, you'll get there. |
Quote:
Sorry for the disrespect, transportation is definitely more than just cars. And I'll have to deal with the reality that I won't get much sleep, but i dont get much now either. And I plan to pursue it with everything I've got, but at the same time I'm passionate about pledging, I know most people tell me its to early to be thinking about a Frat, but I think it's probably the perfect time. I'm not taking my ship off of any road!! |
My Essay on Diversity
Well here it is PB, tell me what you think about it.
Diversity A student should be prepared for the real world once he or she graduates from college. Diversity plays a major role in preparing anyone for what it is like in the real world. On the campus there will be students of different religious backgrounds, cultures, race, and sexual orientation. Most student have not be introduced completely to this new factor of diversity. By having a diverse population at the university; however, students will have better understanding of how life is away from the comfort of their own community is. Another key importance of diversity is that it will allow students to experience new things. Most students, before they go to college, have the same experiences just about every week: they associate with the same people, do the same things, and meet virtually no one new in their hometowns. With the diverse population at the University of Arkansas, however, students will be able to experience the joys from the lives of their fellow students, and possibly find some new interests as well as become friends with people. Meeting new people will help students establish a network around school which may even prove valuable after they have graduated from the university. Respectively, it is also important to realize that certain lifestyles are not for everyone; diversity comes with a lot of different things such as: activities, attire, beliefs, political views and so on. Most students have only been exposed to one type of environment throughout their high school year which, consequently, causes them to have trouble excepting people who are not within the boundaries of their environment. As a result of a diverse population at the university, students will not only learn how to handle situations with which they are not comfortable but will also learn how to live, interact, and accept people who they may not completely understand or agree with, all in a positive, constructive way. The University of Arkansas’ diverse population is important because it serves as a tool to mold young minds into accepting others for who they are and also teaches students not to judge someone based on the color of their skin, their beliefs, their style of dressing, nor anything else. Without diversity students at the university would miss out on an important lesson in life. |
^^^That's excellent! :) When do you have to send it in? I like your siggy too. Just make sure, now, and especially when you get to college, that you stand firm by it. Don't fall into peer presure. If you live your life according to what's inline with your convictions rather than what's socially acceptable, you'll be surprised how far you can go, and how much respect you will continue to get.
Be cool. |
^^^I've already sent it, and yeah I've stuck by my beliefs so far, and never buckle under peer pressure. It is important to live your life for yourself and no one else. People ask me why I decided to stay in Arkansas when I got a 28 on my ACT and could go to a bunch of places on a full ride, and I tell me all the time, it was my dream to go to UA and pursue Architecture, not to go to some other college to pursue Architecture, and besides...its cheaper than going out of state and any extra scholarship money I get is mine...XD
But yeah, I've read plenty of quotes that are great, I like that one a lot..and I read Invictus, its wonderuful. |
*Sorry for the crash, but University of Arkansas, huh??!! Although I was never a Razorback (uh, seriously GO BEARS!), AR is home & I'm a University of Central AR alumna. I'll have to look this young man up one day when I'm home & let you all know if this young joker really has swag like he thinks he does*:D
ETA: I think Iota Tau is back too as of Dec. 08... |

lol--your secret's safe with me (especially since I know a few Iota Tau Nupes :)).
I'm sure PB & the other guys in this forum will get you in order before you hit campus. What's taking you to UCA? I'm in Houston right now. I'll be home May 9th for UCA's graduation. |

ETA: And other general info, like when it was founded, where, why it was changed from KANu to KAPsi, stuff like that |

Here are some of the pictures of some of my designs (when I was in school) that I said I would post. I found some with the clay model ones too. I have more, but I posted what I thought were some of my best ones.
ETA: I took the the red Ford with the green interior rendering out (I never was a big fan of that one). I found more interior renderings that I wanted to post instead. |
^^^Oh those are pretty nice right there, diggin the color on that first one too!
ETA: I know this is pretty off topic but the guy down the street from me has a Chevy Nova, like a 73'. He got it for like $500, and he hasn't done anything with it yet, that's my freaking Dream Car and its just sitting there waiting to be restored, so if anyone knows anyone who has an only one that is wanting to be restored let me know cause my dad and I are totally up for it hehe |

When I was at that probate I saw a Soror carrying a cane, what Sorority is that? |
Quote:
The only sorority on my campus (CSU) that used canes were the SGRhos. |
Quote:
And oh, cause I saw her at the Probate and I was like what Sorority is that, and some girl tried to argue with me that SGRhos where the Kappas little sisters, I told her that the only D9 that are truly connected it Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta, and even though she knows that I know way more about the NPHC than she does she still kept trying to tell me I was wrong just cause she's already in college, and I'm like ok whatever, I told her they probably just party together at her campus or something and that they aren't actually connected as far as the actual organizations go |
Quote:
|
^^^I understand what you're saying completely bro, I dont know...I'm just really fascinated with KAPsi, and I read bout it as much as I read about Architecture. I probably should focus more on architecture but its like whenever I go to school and stuff all me and my friends ever talk about are Frats and what we want to pledge. But yeah, I know its going to be tough to do them both and right now I don't really know if I will be able to pull it off, but I know that when I get to college, regardless of how much I want to pledge Kappa, I'm going to be mainly focused on Architecture and being in that studio doing my work cause in the end that's the part that really matters the most.

The important thing is to make yourself eligible by having a firm g.p.a., and also allowing the BRUHS to know who you are without drawing unnecessary attention to yourself. Let them see that you are the young man who is active on campus, has a better than average g.p.a., and are willing to work for this organization. THEN, if you are chosen, you will have ample time to learn information. But good luck in your endeavors; you seem like you are well on your way. |
Quote:
ETA: JKenny, I'm not teasing you, but you said you read about Kappa as much as you do about architecture. To me, that's backwards, man. It should be the other way around. |
^^^I feel yah on dat KV, I try not to count my eggs before they hatch, lol my AP Lit teacher says never use cliches haha, well anyway I try not to be so sure of myself, however, my confidence in the things I do often cause me to end up in situations like that. I understand you completely though, PB has made me realize that Kappa will always be here
@PB: Yeah yeah, I know I talk about Kappa a lot on the forums and stuff, but its Greek Chat...I mean, I know that I'm coming off like all I do is read about Kappa but most of the stuff that I know about it I learned within the few days when I first heard about it. I have a knack for memorizing stuff, Soliliquies, Quotes, Poems, Random Lines out of books that I like, Dates, Names, just about anything that I find interesting I can recall in it conversation....and based on the topic that's what brings it out. My reputation on this forum unfortunately misrepresents me and I'll be trying to changing it, I know I talk a lot about Kappa and wanting to pledge and stuff, I'll stop sayin so much about it and just hold some general conversation from now on |
Quote:
Good luck man.:) |
^^^JK, I agree with PB. I mean, you seem like a cool young man, and TRUST, I usually do not carry on extensive conversations with forward aspirants. However, you seem sincere in your desires and at the same time young, and hopeful, but as you will learn, discretion is the KEY to Greek life. People will chat with you because you seem cool, not because you desire to be Greek. Just do you, and you'll be aight.
|
OK Bruhs....I'm finally back in action. GC has been giving me log in issues for the last month. I think the tech guy finally got it fixed.

Furthermore, I'd just like to say thanks, I've only been on here i dont know 2 weeks at the most and already I feel like there are people out there who want to see you succeed, I mean I dont even know you guys really, I know me and KV are basically from the Delta in a way, but yea its cool to meet people that you can chat with in a positive way even though you barely know them, too often on forums do I see people just going at it, to its nice to know that there are people who are actually cool to talk to. You guys really bring the following quote to life for me. All that I have seen has taught me to trust Him for all I have not seen--Emerson |
