Kenley's dress has a lot of tulle, while McQueen's dress has just one layer that has a scallopped edge.
Kenley's dress has an even hemline, while McQueen's has an angle. That, and the fit of the top is quite different. Kenley did take quite a risk, but I would not go as far as to say that she plagiarized. |

I thought you'd all love to hear that Suede made an appearance at the KSU Homecoming parade this weekend! In addition, he also hung out at the School of Fashion's Alumni Association tent before the game. |

Because while it was airing it was fashion week and it wasn't really happening at the same time...so thus...they had 3 decoys because on TV that was who had not yet been eliminated. I was bummed about Jerrell. I liked him and a lot of his stuff. Some was overdone, but honestly, he won the challenge before so I think it was bullshit that he didn't get to be in the top 3. Kenley is a bitch, and she totally ripped off McQueen. She's ripped off others all season and said crap like, "I don't pay attention to fashion." Bitch please, that is your JOB. If you're in the fashion industry, you know what the big names are doing. |

I agree it was b.s. that Kenley said she wasn't familiar with the Alexander McQueen dress, but in her defense, I liked her take on it much better.
I was so disappointed in Korto's wedding dress. Also, the awful chunky necklaces and the bouquet that looked like a dead corn cob didn't help matters. I liked Jerrell all season, but his bridal looks were a mess. I had to laugh about Michael Kors saying his bride looked like she had a flower pot growing out of her head. |
My impressions of the runway show:
Kenley: The only piece I liked was that tan dress, with the flowers flowing in one direction. Some of her pieces were tacky, and very retro (and not in a good way). Korto: Amazing! I loved how she had very similar designs, but each was tweaked in a different way. And I loved her use of color. I'm glad she didn't show the wedding dress she made and changed it! That white one was gorgeous, and should have been the one she showed in the first place. Leanne: This was really good, but I didn't like that she used only 3 colors. I understand it was about waves and such, but she could have used purples and other color palettes. |
Some thoughts while I'm catching a few minutes of the debate:
I loved Korto's collection. I found myself saying "I want that" at several points during her show. Leanne's things were great too. I didn't love every single thing, but it was all so well constructed. As far as Kenley, alot of it reminded me of 80's (especially the dresses with the poofy sleeves). Some of those patterns were not cute at all, just loud. I'm pulling for Korto. We shall see how this turns out. |

Ahahaha, again Kenley ripped off ideas from another designer, and again she didn't know! I don't agree with the judges decision though. I think Korto should have won. Leanne's show was as strong as Korto. I don't think she can pull of a 40 piece show and have variety. |
There were a few pieces of Kenley's I liked: The straight black one with the high collar was fabulous. I also loved her first dress and the cute bridesmaid dress. BUT, there were several that looked cheap. such as the ones with the strange collars (awful green)
Korto had also some wonderful looks. I absolutely loved her final look and her use of green and the beading. I though the same as Nina...that her looks would look great on all body-types, which is important. Leanne is the bomb! Gorgeous and cohesive collection and I don't agree that she is a one-trick pony. I just don't want her to get into the Calvin Klein boring color palette, that always turned me off from his designs. I look for good things out of this designer, and am sure that the judges made the right choice. How much does anyone want to bet that Kenley will blame her loss on Tim Gunn? |

They did say she knocked off Balenciaga's handpainted designs, and I will say that I would much rather wear the Balenciaga ones, they look so much more "elegant." http://www.bravotv.com/widgets/bin/g...y_final_13.jpghttp://www.lestyleblog.com/wp-conten...balenciaga.jpg Balenciaga designs--Spring '08 |
Kenley's collection was aight, but not great. Her colors were too much for me.
Korto's collection was lovely - the color palette was great and the clothes fit so well. Leanne's collection was divine (didn't one of the judges call it that?) - so well constructed and I could see wearing a lot of those clothes. And I like that she's from the Pacific NW :) Sidenote - did anyone notice some of the runway models were from previous cycles of ANTM? I was excited to see them in the "real world" working as models. |
KORTO WAS ROBBED!!! her edited wedding dress was fantastic. enough with the pleats/waves already! from what I understand leannes use of pants (varied bottoms) pulled the tide in her favor... whatever.
|
From my non-professional standpoint, I though Korto was the best, too.
|
I thought Korto should have won also. I would buy any of the clothes in her line. Personally, I thought Leannes, although expertly constructed, were boring as all get out. A few too many waves for my taste!
|
^^^Agreed. Korto was robbed. Leanne's wasn't bad, but it didn't really show variety (even though we do know she's capable of it). She should have known better as a designer. Also, I think Kenley should have been booted in favor of Jarell. We all knew she wasn't going to win. Whether is was her attitude or her "knock offs", she always brings herself down.
|
I did really love Leanne's blue long dress. It just looked amazing walking down the runway. I also really loved Korto's long green dress. I liked what Korto added at the last minute to the collection. It was definitely better than her wedding dress. I did like some of Kenley's collection, but not all of it. I hope for Kenley's sake, she'll see herself on the show and learn from it. I still have hope she can be a more humble girl...
|
From a fashion standpoint, I thought Leanne's was the best. From a consumer-wearability standpoint, Korto was the clear winner. When I was a size 4 and could wear anything, I would wear any of Leanne's pieces. I'm no longer a 4 and would prefer to wear Korto's.
However, then judges are choosing the best designer. Thus, Leanne clearly was the best designer. |
I definitely liked Leanne's collection best. But Korto's was very good as well. And I only liked one of Kenley's outfits- the cream dress with the line of flowers on front.
It has been the second time that one of Kenley's outfit resemble somebody else's. This is pushing it. Her collection and fashions overall remind me of Betsey Johnson. Leanne and Korto kept a limited range of colors. Some of their pieces were better than others. I think Leanne did have a small edge- but had Korto won, I would not have been tremendously upset. |
I thought all three collections were fantastic. I loved Kenley's "Alice in Wonderland" theme, her bridesmaid dress fit in perfectly with the rest of her dresses, and her pieces were constructed and fit perfectly. I've liked most of Korto's stuff all season; she's very consistent and her clothes have an ethnic, sophisticated feel to them. Loved her green asymmetric halter dress. But the thing about fashion is, it's hard not to do something that someone else has done before. That's why they chose LeAnne; not only were her clothes beautiful and perfectly constructed, they were really unique and special.
|
^^ ok, I begrudgingly accept your explanation of why leanne's collection won.
