I lost $50 on WVU but FSU won 69-0 so I'm ecstatic!

amycat412 09-07-2008 03:26 AM

I was 14-2 today. Lost the So Car- Vandy and BC- GA Tech games

As a Pirate alum I have to say I hope they can keep it going! They didn't get the job done last year! I'll be at the game so I'm hoping for something good!

kstar 09-07-2008 04:27 PM

OU is 2 and 0.

"hung half a hundred" each game. What a way to start the year.

Is that against the spread?

If so, impressive.

AGDLynn 09-13-2008 07:24 PM

GOOOO DAWGS!!!

WOOF WOOF!

SthrnZeta 09-13-2008 07:48 PM

Gooooooo Georgia Bulldogs!!!

That was a close game and it was a little nerve-wracking but I really hope that this will be Georgia's year. 3-0 baby!!

And if anyone knows where I can get cheap tickets to the Georgia/Alabama game, PM me please!!!

pinksirfidel 09-13-2008 09:12 PM

Is anyone watching the game tonight? Ohio State is actually playing against some competition for once! GO USC (and I can't stand USC)! :)

CrackerBarrel 09-14-2008 12:19 AM

S.Car is a lot better than they've been getting credit for. They probably should have won today, but the ball coach doesn't have the talent he needs (no one will ever turn So. Car. around). Looking a lot like things are falling in place for Georgia/Florida winner to play USC.

What is gonna be interesting is if USC/OU/SEC champ are all undefeated. I think the SEC champ gets benefit of the doubt there for having produced the last 2 champs though.

jojapeach 09-14-2008 05:36 PM

GOOOOOOOO DAWGS! SIC 'EM!

Another victory :) , but I saw the #3 ranking coming. *sigh* I pray that our momentum is kept up next weekend. The Sun Devils may be out for blood after last night's loss to UNLV.

AOII_LB93 09-14-2008 05:45 PM

I hate to say it, but GO U$C. They wiped the floor with Ohio State.

But honestly, who outside the Big Ten hasn't?

To me more than proving that USC is really good (they are pretty good though, lol), that proved that OSU can't handle speed and has done nothing to change that fact. (I guess they're just content to mop up the other slow teams in the BigTen and get blown away everytime they step out of conference.)

I think even with Wells they're a slightly worse team this year than the versions that lost to Florida and LSU, but you would think at some point they would learn their lesson and start trying to figure out how to deal with speed on defense and a spread offense.

Y'all actually look really good this year, but I do think Ohio States problem in nonconference games is that they have put in a system that only works against teams that don't recruit for speed (which has been good in the Big10, although Illinois is making them have to deal with the spread and this year you all seem to have an offense that could give them trouble).

ZetaGirl22 09-16-2008 02:24 AM

none of the above.................MARYLAND (REALLY, almost ridiculously dreaming, I know :) )

I had to vote for Michigan. I think my family might murder me if I didn't.

My actual bet is USC and Ohio State but shhhhh... the walls have ears...

School loyalty is fine. My issue is the fact that Michigan is even in the poll. But it's all in fun, right?

I so envy the Dawg fans in Tempe.

Bama Georgia this weekend should be one of the best games this year.

jojapeach 09-23-2008 11:54 AM

^^^ I KNOW!!! I won't be at the game, but I'll be wearing black for the blackout. GO DAWGS!!!

AGDLynn 09-23-2008 02:07 PM

Yea, we're going away for the weekend, borrowing a friend's vacation house. He said he'd try to remember to bring the satellite box:confused: oh well, I'll find a sports bar:D

KSigkid 09-23-2008 04:43 PM

UConn is 3-0 now; not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but as someone who went to an undergrad with no football team, I'm pretty excited.

Benzgirl 09-27-2008 04:11 PM

Ole Miss beat the Gators. Guess UGa will be on top again as long as they get by Bama

AGDee 09-27-2008 11:09 PM

I can't believe Michigan pulled it out, but they did. Fun fourth quarter, though tough on the blood pressure!

nittanyalum 09-27-2008 11:22 PM

Penn State > Oregon State > USC

So... Penn State will be ranked #1, now, right? ;)

PhiGam 09-28-2008 03:14 AM

Florida loses, Miami loses, FSU wins, and I win $250 because of Texas, FSU, and Alabama... what a GREAT Saturday.

My rankings:

1. Alabama
2. Oklahoma
3. Missouri
4. Penn State
5. Texas

Considering that 4 of the top 10 ranked teams including 1, 3 :( , and 4 all lost in one single weekend, I'm not willing to try to guess what kind of damage this weekend did to the rankings to be announced today. The fact that 6 of the top 20 lost, it's like some just crapped all over the rankings.

I'd love to say Oklahoma will be #1 and Alabama will enter the Top 5, but this season is unpredictable and so are the polls. The only thing I'm sure of is that somehow, someway, the USC Trojans will probably still be in the Top 10 despite losing to an unranked team since they're so beloved by the media. Somehow, UGA may slide out of the Top 10 although we were beat by the #8 team.

I think it's the shock to my Bulldawg system over such a disappointing loss that's making me sound pessimistic. I have to say Bama did a great job, and UGA was less than great. :(

But this crazy season ain't over yet.... My BCS championship dreams aren't over, and no over Bulldawgs should be either.

KSigkid 09-28-2008 09:10 AM

Hopefully UConn breaks into the Top 25. They're 5-0, and although none of their wins have been all that impressive, I'm hoping it's enough.

That, and Donald Brown is ridiculous.

LSU won so why would they drop lower than last week. I don't think Penn State is gonna be there yet...maybe #6.

Benzgirl 09-28-2008 11:26 AM

I think Oklahoma will move to #1.

AGDee, I agree with you. I thought Wisconsin had it in the bag.
I couldn't believe the UGA/Bama game. That was after I watched UofM/Wisconsin and OleMiss/Florida.

What a day for games! That is what I love about college football. "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings".

CrackerBarrel 09-28-2008 12:04 PM

1. OU
2. Bama
3. LSU
4. Mizzou
5. Penn State

IMO at least.

I think that Saban has enough enemies to see Bama stay a little lower. My guess is
1. Oklahoma
2. Mizzou
3. LSU
4. Bama
5. Texas

But these rankings effing reek, stink, and more.... I can't believe I was so right about what would happen between UGA and USC.

BTW, I agreed with your earlier post on why you love college football so much. This is exciting and completely unpredictable stuff!

However, Ole Miss has a lot more games to win before they even enter the Top 25. They've done well this season, but they've got far to go in the SEC.

Bama played a very impressive game against UGA. I'm surprised they outranked LSU but not disappointed or infuriated. I can live with #2 for Bama if they haven't trailed any opponents at all this season. Not. EVER in '08.
