Book by Kate to come out in November...
|
So i'm watching that OMG! Sextuplets! on WeTV....i much rather watch the Gosselins!!
P.S. OTW, I can totally see where you are going w/ Joel. |

And did anyone see Kate on Dlisted.com yesterday? She made Hot Slut of the Week. I'm so not kidding! Quote:
I guess TPTB at Dlisted.com don't watch the show. Kate had the twins via chocha, but the sextuplets were delivered c-section! |
I watched this for the first time last night. Yes, Kate is a shrew to Jon(who reminds me of an Asian Jack Black) but he puts up with it. I do like the way she's kind of sarcastic and snarky about the kids' foibles and personality traits, as I've heard enough "my baybeeeez are PERFECT" to last me a lifetime.
|
I got hooked on this show a few months ago, and I love it! Jon and Kate are definitely not perfect. She is a total control freak who needs to calm down and Jon could be a little more assertive.
But I've read some of those bloggers and people on those message boards and I swear they act like Jon and Kate are the anti-Christ! I just don't see that at all. I don't agree with everything they do and say, but we all know that the producers are out to make interesting TV and the editing reflects that! The editing also reflects that Jon and Kate love their children. When I watch it, I see a happy, affectionate family who just happen to be HUGE. By the amounts of hugs and kisses I see, those kids are obviously loved and cherished by many people--not just the parents. I ADORE Leah and Aaden....I swear I could just put them in my pocket and run off with them. Alexis too, if we could bring her screaming down a few decibels! ;) |

When you compare them now to the first two specials, I think Jon's gotten more assertive. He may very well be the quiet punching bag because he knows that the opposite will just make the situation more difficult. Some of these JK8 message boards are ridiculous. Several viewers have said that Beth and Aunt Jodi will no longer be on the show because of Kate. Whether or not there's any truth to it, I don't know...but these viewers are scary and obviously have too much time on their hands. I can't wait to see the episode where Jon cooks Korean food to teach his kids about their heritage! I don't know how cooking for them teaches them anything about their heritage, but it should be interesting. One whiff of the kim chee and I'm sure Kate will be going ballistic! |

I don't think one meal will make much of an impact as far as their Korean heritage, but food is an important and strong part of a culture, so if it is part of an on-going effort it could be meaningful. When I was stuck up in New Jersey nothing was as evocative of home as food. |
I just saw the golf outing episode and I thought it was SO CUTE that the boys all got their own clubs and stuff (even if they only actually played a little bit).
|
a family just came into my library - daddy and 2 sets of twins... so cute but i know it has to be HELL in that house. LOL. the boys looked to be about 6 and the girls were 3 or 4. soooo cute! but i was glad when they left.
|
I was flipping through my DVR's Scheduled Recordings and it looks like there will be new episodes on Sunday and Monday.
The Sunday episode is Gosselin Movie night, I think. Are you freaking kidding me? We're gonna watch them watch a movie? Monday is Girls' Day Out. Kate takes all 5 girls to a paint it pottery store. This one should be interesting. Messy and breakable stuff! Let the meltdown begin! |

Okay, I thought it was pretty pathetic to ride on JK8's success to market TLC's new show "The Singing Office". For the past few days now they've been running those JK8 Music Video commercials, but you had to watch "The Singing Office" in order to see it.
JK8 even had an hour-long episode last night...and they're having another one tonight. I'm glad that the entire show wasn't about movie night. I couldn't help but laugh when they said they were watching Planet Earth. Somehow I just knew that "survival of the fittest" was going to happen at one point, and the kids might have a hard time with animals killing animals. Too bad Kate assigned an animal to each kid. It wasn't too pretty when Alexis the Lion killed and ate Aaden the Monkey. |

I just thought it was cute when Collin said, "see you gotta stay with your brothers and sisters Aaden" and then Alexis went to kiss Aaden! lol. The quote i still laugh at was the golf episode when Collin says "look daddy, i'm holding my big stick." I just thought of this thread and the whole which one's gay comments. lol. |

There are a lot of inconsistencies within this person's story though that makes me think its more BS than truth. |

If Aunt Jodi's not on the show, the fact that she doesn't want to be on it anymore is more believable than the crap that gets thrown out on that blog! With last night's episode, someone even suggested that Jon's having an extra martial affair with his personal trainer! |

I really don't get why people hate them so much, you'd think they were Heidi and Spencer or something. They're just regular people to me. Nothing about them seems as heinous and outrageous as people make them out to be.

I was on jk8forum.com and I've since decided that I'm no longer going to post there. It's very rare that you'll find a fan of the show who's willing to post their thoughts among all the Kate haters. They say they welcome all opinions but that's total BS. You have to HATE Kate to be good with them. When presented with a dissenting opinion, it's simply because "I just don't understand because I'm not a parent."
I'm not pro-Kate at all. In fact, she annoys me like no other. Still, I watch the show because I think the twins and sextuplets are just so adorable and I enjoy watching them. I seriously doubt any parent would even welcome other people stepping in to tell them how to raise their kids...so I don't understand why they're so quick to criticize how Jon and Kate do it. I also don't understand why they still watch the show if they get that disgusted with Kate! jk8forum.com is just as bad as College Confidential, I tell you. |

Maybe "I'm not a mom" but I just don't see the stuff that Kate does that these people are criticizing. They say things like "they are poor examples for their kids and teaching them a sense of entitlement, and they are horrible parents for the way they yell at and abuse each other." Maybe these people have perfect marriages or something. She's a little weird about the kids getting dirty, but I think that has alot to do with the sheer amount of laundry she does on a regular basis. If I had to do 8 kids worth of laundry, I'd think twice about letting them do alot of messy things. |
Quote:
Somehow she doesn't have a problem with people suggesting Jon's flirting with his personal trainer or Alexis is gonna die from carbon monoxide poisoning because she's in the basement. Of course there's no inaccuracies and untruths there!!! Check out sanemomof6's posts. She's truly a gem. |
I checked out the jk8forum.com site, and WOW, those posters are INSANE!
|
LOL, I get the feeling some of you might have signed up for accounts and have started posting. ;)
|
I thin Kate does very well for having 8 kids...let me repeat that....8 kids........
Every mom has their melt downs!!!! I agree that Kate may sometimes take things a little too seriously, but she is just trying to be a good mom...seriously.... |
I've never realized how small a Dodge Sprinter was. My mom and I drove next to one today, and I just kept thinking "how did Jon and Kate put 8 car seats plus the twins in this?"
|
|
You know JK8's popularity is getting ridiculous when the lady interviewing you for a new job brings it up during your damn interview.
|
So, to celebrate the 6 pack's 4th Birthday, they went to a bakery 75 miles away from their house last night. Kate mentioned that the kids didn't want to do a carnival this year (much to HER dismay) and that they just wanted a fun family day. For some reason, I find that hard to believe.
I was really disappointed in her last night. The kids couldn't have a good time without hearing her complain about getting messy. Kudos to Jon and the bakery people for putting up with her! |
Kate was def the fun police in the bakery! Poor kids!!
I love love loved the "we have no talents so we'll put on a fashion show" episode as well. It made me want to play dress up again! |
Quote:
Also, I was upset that they didn't let the boys eat their cupcakes. Normally I am all in favor of rules like "don't eat your dinner, don't get your dessert" but come on! It was for their birthday...relax the rule just this once! |

While I do really enjoy the show, I am starting to wonder about adverse effects on the kids growing up. Kids are mean, but Moms are MUCH worse and kids hear the comments that other Moms make. I hope they can have a somewhat normal childhood. |

I can't wait to see the kids grow up. She'll have a ball dealing with discipline then! |
People tend to parent the way they were parented, even without meaning to. Kate is very rigid, and with 8 children, I can see why she would NEED to be, but its like she doesn't know how to relax rules at all.
|
did anyone catch monday's episode where jon cooked a traditional korean meal? that was a really good episode, its the first one where they have talked about race; i think it was cute and interesting when they were saying that the kids argue about who's the most asian in the house. i found it interesting especially because even at four years old they already have this rudimentary sense of their racial heritage even though they dont know what it means yet.

I was kinda hoping he'd do more than kim chee and bul go gi, but it was pretty impressive nonetheless. I had a feeling Jon had ties to Hawai'i because I could've sworn I heard him say some local words and phrases -- benjo, for example (meaning bathroom).
Fried rice is a staple here, especially when you've got leftover rice in the rice cooker and you don't want to throw it away. Just like Korean food, cooking fried rice is easy -- it's preparing it that's a pain in the ass. I was surprised the kids liked kim chee. I still hate it. That stuff stays in you for DAYS and the odor just leaves through your pores. The kids eating wasabi peas was classic! Their reactions were priceless! Methinks we'll be taking out Korean food tonight. |
I watched this show for the first time yesterday, and I liked it a lot! Super cute. I watched 2 or 3 episodes.
