At my sister's wedding, my cousin (about age 18) caught the bouquet and the crowd would NOT stop yelling till she gave it to her mother.

Wow, that was def some good advertising. ;) I had fun in that blog, the pix are gorgeous!

I haven't seen a bouquet toss in my area for a while. We did the anniversary dance and gave my bouquet to the bride of the couple who was married the longest. It was my great aunt and uncle for 54 years. She talked about it until she died and her DIL told me how happy she was every time I saw her even at her funeral. I'm glad I made her day. We kept Andy's boutonnier and my garter and put them in our memory box.

I did go to 2 weddings where the bouquet fell on the floor and nobody actually wanted to pick it up. I kind of felt bad about those.

Reminds me of my friends' wedding photos. They were recently married in Newport, RI, and the pictures are amazing! Especially the last two with the Newport bridge and a beautiful sunset as the backdrop.

I just ordered these shoes for my wedding...in silver!

I'm a little nervous about ordering shoes online before trying them on. I really hope they fit right and are comfortable!

Did your friends get married on the Fort Adams grounds? I love Rhode Island!

Okay, about the shoes: you all realize that those 4" stilettos are going to feel like 6" AAAAAA by the third or fourth hour you have them on, on what should be the happiest day of your life, don't you? That your weird Uncle Wally is going to get drunk and throw up on them, and that your klutzy pre-pubescent nieces are going to spill punch on them? And that, when they hurt badly enough that you just have to throw them off while you're dancing, you'll probably break a window? Just sayin'

^^^LOL

I was measured for my dress in 1 3/4 in. kitten heels knowing that I'm not a heels person and anything more than that would be torture. However, I'm having a HORRIBLE time finding anything that height in ivory. It seems like everything is ~3 in+.

My wedding shoes were champagne, and just a kitten heel. I originally was going for white or silver, but I happened to try these on and they looked nice with my skin tone. They were A Touch of Nina.

christiangirl 07-19-2011 12:25 AM

I think I'll do the really cute high shoe for the wedding because, I don't have to worry about comfy shoes when I'm going to be barefoot anyway. Whenever there's a dance floor, my shoes come off. :o

^^ Looking for the LOVE button!

Although, getting married in Chicago in December does NOT lend to sandals! I have decided to get those custom insets for whichever shoe I pick, though. Orthodics?

WCsweet<3 08-16-2011 06:07 PM

Continuing on the blue shoes idea.

Somebody find me some awesome shoes for my wedding please. No more than a 3" heel (preferably 2.5" or less) and a fun color because my dress is short. I like the color of these but not the style of the bow. I'm open to a pink, blue, green or gold.

joliebelle 09-27-2011 09:25 PM

one

two

three (heel is 3.5, but they're adorable)

four

five

six

Thank you all! I have some good ideas. The heel height restriction is due to the fact that the Conservinator and I are close in height and I don't want to dominate over him in all our pictures. :)

Another thing we have in common! I am wearing the smallest possible heel so I can maintain our 0.25 inch difference in height.

I think I found my shoes - for the ceremony. Think slippers for the reception!

They have about a 2" heel, and are whiter than they look here.
