I have fallen out of touch with a friend from high school. She goes to Morehead State in Kentuky. I wonder if she is still in her sorority. Does anybody know anything about recruitment there? Quota? What each sorority got?

MIT Results

According to an article in the September 7, 2007 online issue of The Tech, the student paper, Panhellenic says that results at MIT are

Alpha Chi Omega - 40
Alpha Epsilon Phi - 1
Alpha Phi - 39
Kappa Alpha Theta - 44
Sigma Kappa - 39

Total bids - 163
All bids issued were accepted.

cuteASAbug 09-07-2007 03:31 PM

Did AEPhi not participate in recruitment? Why did they only give out one bid?

I'm certain they "gave out" more bids -- that means only one was accepted.

cuteASAbug 09-07-2007 03:36 PM

It says that all bids issued were accepted.

Yes...all of the PNMs who matched accepted their bids.

Can someone else explain this?? I'm struggling to clarify. :)

so then wouldn't it mean that AEPhi only gave out one bid?

It usually means that, well, let's say they had 23 at their pref party and quota was 39. They could have pledged 23 if all of those PNMs had accepted a "bid" from them. Instead, only one of the 23 did.

Purely a hypothetical explanation -- I have no idea of the numbers at MIT!
