Did you know that you said that twice? That is symptomatic of very poor short-term memory. How old are you? If you are over 65, please get screened for the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease. Please report to the local medical place.

Soror, this thread is like  . It's been fun playing with the trolls, however I think it may be time we stop feeding them.

I'M A UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA GRADUATE AND I'M OFFENDED BY THIS MISINFORMATION!!!!!

We learned this in orientation...

In 1923, Abraham Lincoln visited the University of Alabama and stood in the door as Sojourner Truth attempted to walk through and register to work out in the gym on campus because she didn't feel as though she should have to walk 2 hours, uphill, in the snow to simply do Pilates.

So, as she planned to walk in and sign up a man named Hannibal was riding by on his elephant. (That kind of stuff is quite common in Alabama) he saw the event of magnanimous proportion that was about to occur at this time and decided to charge full speed ahead into the gym that President Lincoln was standing in front of.

Sojourner Truth never made it to the gym that day, she had a heart attack while walking 4 miles downhill in the snow to the UA doors. DST now has a woman holding a fruit tray as their symbol. (Sojourner Truth was a cashier at Whole Foods) The Elephant Represents the One Hannibal rode on to destroy Abrahama Lincoln's racial intolerance. The Crimson and Cream Represent the Crimson blood from the injuries sustained that day and the Cream Cheese Bagels that were in the Gym.

The University has ALWAYS taken a stance against...I mean for Equality and Justice in Education. Delta Sigma Theta was founded that eventful day and has been the greatest sorority known to mankind and ESPECIALLY the UA campus.

Now the AKA's were founded at an Ivy League School and it's a funny story dealing with a man named Diego and his swift feet, a Prince who was cursed by witch, and a whale named Willy that a little guy we know as Michael Jackson sang about...

We are each shareholders in Delta airlines and Delta faucets!:D So we all fly for free on Delta airlines AND we charge the other Greeks three times the price to fly our airlines. Other Greeks who have Delta in their name get a discount too, but DST negotiated first so we get top tier discounts so we can go visit our elephants more often -- if Delta is first in their name, they save 50%, if it is 2nd, they save 25% and if it is 3rd, they save 10% but Delta Delta Delta saves 88%.

Hope this helps.

CTHU!!!!!!

OMG!!! I can't believe how funny this thread is. Are people really this naive? I want to find an animal to write. Someone get me a flamingo as a penpal. I'm gonna go drive down to Tuscaloosa and do some research.

(thinking)**they both have elephants, crimson, females**

christiangirl 04-21-2007 01:17 AM

I just read some of this to my friend over the phone and she CRACKED UP. She said "Don't you ever tell someone a story like this! If you know they're dumb enough to believe you, then that's shame on you !!" lol

AlexMack 09-24-2007 12:48 PM

Future Greek1 have you heard the saying "think before you speak" well you should "google before you ask." Googling will be your best friend in answering your questions. The questions you're asking can be easily answered if you go to the organizations' national webistes. Take it from one aspirant to another.

I know boo for me. I have to admit I very much enjoyed ya'lls comments! But I can't stand when aspirants come on the boards with stupid questions! It just makes a bad name for all aspirants. But then again if they're not smart enough to do research without being told...by all means Keep the comments coming!:D

No one said they weren't capable. My comment was directed only to the quoted individual.

But sorry, I didn't realize which forum this was initially posted in.

People are still bumping threads years old...like that one by ol' girl who was afraid of clowns. *snigger* People still mention that every now and again.

I don't know if it's because all the stress of finals is fading, but reading this tonight was even better than the first time. I started to take a picture of myself crying and put it in the Look at Me thread to prove just how many tears there were. :p

Haha, you're welcome! I was watching a Tyra Banks Show rerun about phobias and couldn't help but think I'd pay good money to see that girl confront a clown on national television. Double if I could be in the audience. ;)
