When did you figure it out? It wasn't until I read your post that I was able to put two and two together.

This morning. I had read a little of the bumped "Sally Ride" thread before I read the WP article. After I read the WP article, I did a search using words from the sentence quoted in the article -- scientists, pioneers, respective and fields. Somehow, I was not surprised to see it turn up the post from prunetaco.

DSTCHAOS 08-07-2008 12:45 PM

In all honesty and seriousness, this really makes me rebuke the internet and never want to come back again. Honestly and seriously.

Other than to check my professional email account.

I seriously had no idea of the connection when I bumped the thread (about midnight my time last night). I promise.

Wow, going back and checking out the posts made by "prunetaco" at the time, he had conversations with many people here - even complimenting some of you! V. creepy.

Texas<>Diamonds 08-07-2008 01:10 PM

Ugh, the fact that he posted on this forum is both disgusting and interesting at the same time. I guess it makes sense that he would lurk around here, considering his freakish obsession. I went back at read some of his old posts and his writing style just screams sociopathic freak. Of course, I guess it's easy to say that now considering we know what he turned out to be! But I think even back in 2006 the other posters could see he was a weirdo.

The thread where he posted the post in question is short (and locked) and quite a read, especially when he starts talking about the skeletons in his closet.

Tinia2 08-07-2008 01:37 PM

i just noticed that he was never banned. still listed as a registered member.
while last activity is listed as 09-23-2006 09:46 PM , have wonder if he was truly lurking here afterwords. or did he just get busy with something else.
and this is a kick:

He seems to be quite an Earp fan, too, based on a post in that thread.

I've since deleted them, but he and I exchanged PMs when he was posting -- no surprise, they were all about Kappa.

...I usually save PMs just in case I need them for later use and then delete em from my inbox to make room, but I think the ones from prunetacos are all gone. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one he PMed. It was a very, very strong obsession with Kappa.

I saw it shortly after you bumped it...and I didn't think anything of it. Come back a few hours later, BOOM creepy anthrax man is revealed on GC!!

Pass some over here, too. Ewwww. We've had some strange ones around here before, but this takes the proverbial cake. Ewwww.

ComradesTrue 08-07-2008 04:09 PM

If pregnancy hasn't made me nauseous/queesy enough, this thread just did me in.

Gross.

Unregistered- 08-07-2008 04:15 PM

I wonder how many people will start visiting GC now that the site's been named in various news articles and websites?

PANTHERTEKE 08-07-2008 04:17 PM

Damn, this is some crazy shit.

Well, there are around 200 guests here right now.

Is that because of pruneytacos, because it is close to recruitment time or a combination of both?

Last night, around midnight my time, there were about a 100 guests and I'd say that 85% of them were viewing the 'Hot Olympic Women' thread.

There's a good mix of threads being viewed, but 'Hot Olympic Women' is still pretty popular. :o

Ditto, minus the pregnancy.

I stayed away from a few hours and was drawn back out of curiosity. :(

Benzgirl 08-07-2008 06:07 PM

Does this mean that the FBI has been monitoring the What's for Dinner thread? Did they figure out that Gooey Buns were toxic?

I really hope they've been paying attention to the Brothel Law and Delta Nu's connection to DZ/DG threads as well. There needs to be an end to that once and for all!

I'm sure they got a kick from "My Flag Pole is Down".

Wonder if they were able to read our PMs?

Maybe they saw the outrage over House Bunny and will get that shut down.

Benzgirl 08-07-2008 06:41 PM

And the Pink Rhinestone Pantyhose will now be banned in all 50 states.

AOIIalum 08-07-2008 06:49 PM

Uh, oh. What if they find out about...the catsuits?

lawgal 08-07-2008 07:02 PM

rotfl

Those last three posts did me in....

PeppyGPhiB 08-07-2008 07:22 PM

I wonder if he had any other GC screennames.

ZTABullwinkle 08-07-2008 07:25 PM

You guys seriously have me laughing with tears over the last few comments. Much needed comic relief after a very weird/strange twist.

I figure that once his "connection" to Kappa was discovered, the only natural place to head to would be GC. Anyone can post and comment about KKG here.

do you think he was over in frattinghard or oldrow as well? if in either one, that would have been real interesting.

Doubt it. FH and OR were more fraternity-minded and notsomuch Kappa Kappa Gamma.

ya, you are most likely correct. saw a posting commenting that he posted here and that was it. rest of it was not too kind to KKG.

Sister Havana 08-07-2008 11:24 PM

I'm guessing the investigation searched the various emails he used - a lot of his communication was via email - possibly along with IP addresses and the different websites/message boards they were connected to. GC just happened to be extremely relevant due to the Kappa/Greek connection.

That and his crazy-ass posts once they did find the connection.

I know I will go to hell for this, but that was the first thing I thought of too when I just re-read that thread. I wonder if he ever lived in HPRL?

Otherwise, I am with all of you. This is terribly disturbing and I think I need to take a bath in bleach now.

Tinia2 08-08-2008 12:36 AM

passing you the brillo pad.
