-------------------------------------------------- Recruitment drawing to a close for Greeks [http://www.uecrescent.org/articles/s...YOO_news.html] Bobby Thacker • Staff Writer ***************************************** With sorority recruitment numbers down this year, high retention rates helped each chapters meet quota for the first time in 21 years, said senior Tara Southwood, Panhellenic recruitment vice president. Southwood said sororities retained about 84 percent of their members and Alpha Omicron Pi welcomed 28 new members, Chi Omega 27, Phi Mu 25 and Zeta Tau Alpha 26. Southwood said successful recruitment can be partially attributed to the new intercollegiate solutions system—an online resource where potential members can register for recruitment. “It gives the women a better feeling of comfort and privacy because they can sign up online from their own home,” she said. Otherwise, recruitment, which started Sept. 7, was traditional as women got to know each chapter and met members. Although this was a time when potential members perused the sororities, the chapters also had the chance to get to know the women. Most chapters have a GPA requirement, but Southwood said the real focus was getting to know each woman individually. Pledges selected their top two choices and waited until Monday night when they were able to meet their new sisters. |

If anyone is interested in a detailed breakdown of Bama's 2006 Fall recruitment statistics, you might go to the site identified below. The click-on tab for "Fall 2006 Recruitment Results" is kind of hidden towards the bottom, so look for it carefully. Click on the tab and you will find a great statistical analysis of all categories: number of pnms registered; releases and withdrawals day by day; quota additions, snaps, bids, etc.

Thanks
Those Alabama stats are interesting.
What a successful rush! Look at the percentage of girls getting their first choice! Only two groups not making quota! Can one of the rush experts tell us more about how UA does the release figures and such to get such great results? |

Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University have finished recruitment and I only have AGD results so far, but quota at both schools was 9 and Alpha Gam received 10 new members at each. Eastern Michigan was using a minimally structured format for the first time. When I get more info, I'll post more about other groups did.

How did AOII at Ga Southern do?
Hi,
I'm new to the forum, just trying to post my first question in this thread. Does anyone know how AOII at GA Southern did? What was the quota there and how did the other sororities do there? Also, how do you find that info out? AOII Girl |
This is my daughter's chapter! They took quota plus but I don't remember the numbers. I bet AOIIBrandi knows.

AOII GA Southern
Hi AOII mom,
Thanks for your reply. Did the other chapters make quota too? I've heard that the greek system at GSU has gotten more and more cut-throat at GSU. I really hated to see Kappa off campus and glad to see they are coming back. Also, do you know if they are up and running again yet? And also, how do I contact AOII Brandi? I am new to this so still trying to figure out how to work this forum. Btw, I graduated from GSU 1995 - undergrad and 1997 grad. AOII was the greatest - many fond memories and I still keep in touch w/ many of my sisters today. 'She's a rose, she's a pearl, she's an AOII girl'...c.1897...Columbia University...New York |
Kappa rushed separately from the rest but I heard that they extended a lot of bids! And I'm pretty sure the other 5 took quota plus. My daughter was Ga Southern BS 04, MS 05....she doesn't hear much from the chapter lately, though!
All you have to do is private-message AOII Brandi to contact her! Go to a post she's made and scroll down from her name to find the pm function. |
Hi! AOII took 51 , quota was 44. Kappa did not participate in FR but took 75 in their reorganization. See my thread which is Fall 2006 Results Part 2!!!
Come say hi in the AOII forum! |
I've wanted to love up quota size at a couple of schools lately, and I got tired of looking for the thread so I bumped it.
ETA: Er, that should have read look up not love up, what a weird thing to mistype. |
