First you said that the thread was tired, then you start developing theories and philosophies about who's first and killing brain cells looking for Baird's Manual. What's really good????

I extended an idea presented by another in this thread. Don't be hatin' 'cause I asked a question. ;)

BTW, Baird's is a fun read if you (the general you) are really interested in the history of greek orgs.

Your extended idea had no place here.

Talk about chewing a rag. Just let it go. The reality is your trying to justify your soror's tacky shirt when there is no justification. Who is reading too much into it now?!

Dionysus 06-22-2006 01:16 PM

Dang this is a long azz thread. I can someone give me a paragraph summary of this thread, cuz i'm too lazy to read the whole thing.

It is. I still don't get why people got so bent outta shape over a shirt. A shirt!! I mean, if your feelings are that sensitive over what a NEOPHYTE did, then it may be time to take a coffee break.

All I said, all I have ever said in this thread was that yes, the shirt may not be the best show of pan-hellinic spirit, but that's what a neo will do sometimes.

Yeah, I've heard chants and stuff from other orgs and thought, 'Okay, that's clever'. Then *I* moved on.

What I see as going over some of ya'll's head is the fact that it is neophyte hijinks - A play on words and a historical aspect. That is all. No more, no less, but some of you are determined to make it to be more than what it is. Creative of you, but really, it's not that deep.

Got it now?

I was responding to Fee Fee's comment on the siggy, not about the shirt. ;)

Besides, to me, the more you complain about the shirt, the more you are justifying it. I'm just calling the shirt for what it is, a mild diss.

Summary.......

Intro: Oh, look at that person's shirt.
Opinion: That's a shame. Tsk...tsk. Hope it was worth it.
Opinion: People who do that are lame and insecure.
That one SGRho: How do you know that? I like wearing other organization's letters. :)
Everyone else: Because we know. Now stop taking it personally.
That one SGRho: Glass houses and stones. Excuses. Excuses. Bad analogy about some AKA's signature.
One last SGRho who summed it up nicely: This has been handled by the proper authorities.

The End. :D

unknown2u 06-22-2006 03:04 PM

Basically....lol

Sigma Diva would have thought the same thing as everyone else if the girl was a Delta, AKA, or Zeta. But since the girl is an obvious SGrho then she feels she has to justify her tacky actions.

Annnnd imagine if you have to succumb to being an SgRHO because of all three rejection letters. I mean i would wear a jacket like that too. Because, if you truly did not mind being in such a lame ass sorority then wearing such a jacket would not be necessary.

The one group that should have issue about what the NEOPHYTE is doing is you.... she wasn't taught to properly represent herself and respect others and to give the excuse cause she is new and she didn't know is STUPID to me..... how can you NOT know. That is just tacky and you should pull her up on that - not defend her actions. There is support and then there is stupidity........ I would NEVER be caught DEAD in a shirt that was disrepectful like that.... ITS JUST WRONG

Nope. Never said this. Go back and read my posts. In one I specifically said that I would not wear / buy / or make a shirt like that. ;)

Never took it personally. I am just amazed that considering some people have been a member of their org for 3, 5, 10 and longer years would even think to stop and get worked up over what a neophyte did. I think some of you have taken the shirt personally to tell you the truth.

Quote:

Like you said DSTCHAOS, we all have lame members in all of our orgs. So, why would you or anyone else want to spend time criticizing what a neophyte did in another org. That's what I meant by glass houses, stones and finger pointing.

No excuses here. I have consistently acknowledged that the shirt is not proper. I don't think it points to the young woman's insecurity necessarily, just a bad shirt choice.

The analogy to the AKA signature is that people can read different things it what seems to be (an innocent) statement.

Quote:

And I agree with her, but other people in this thread won't let it die. But, like I said earlier too, I don't mind addressing people's comments.

I don't think I've justified her actions. With her being a neophyte, and since those of us who are greek were neos at one point, I know where she was coming from. Like I said, I don't think the shirt is the right attire, but being a neo, one may not be mature in the organization to realize that yet.

When the pic of the Zeta's were posted about the 'we look good in any color' t-shirt I did not think any less of them than I do my own soror in this case. Neos sometimes make neo mistakes.

And, like I've said, in the realm of disses and such this is mild. Some of y'all are acting as if you've never been dissed by another org before. I also find this funny. To me y'all are acting like 'OMG, I saw this SGR in this shirt!!! I've never seen anything like this before!! OMG!!'

I should've done the hypnosis with my summary post so you'd get the "joke" and not do a line-by-line response.

Where did you hear that? All three classes of the poodle - standard, toy and minature, has consistently won or placed high in its Breed category over the years in the Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Maybe you need to adjust your tv ?

That may be true in a kennel, but not anywhere else. BTW, I'm just poking fun in case you didn't know. Some girls take things a lil too seriously. I won't say any names since hit dogs hollar.**no pun intended**

I know you were joking. ;)That is why I came back with the tounge-in-cheek-sarcastic kennel club answer, which is true btw. But, I couldn't resist. :p

And, it has been shown that people who abuse animals are more likely to be serial killers.....

I figured you did understand. Glad YOU knew I was kidding. I guess that's all that matters.

I hate animals. Now back to the kennel with you. Back I say. Would you go for a scooby snack?
