Haha, from that quote above, I have a reason to believe you're a Zeta...but I may be wrong :p

Congrats nonetheless :)

Drolefille 11-09-2006 12:31 PM

That's not a fair clue. I think EVERYONE in NC is still an option.

No one said my clues had to be fair!! I could always write them in code and make people decode them.....

Ok...uhm.... Alpha Chi Omega and Kappa Delta both use olive green? Or maybe Gamma Phi Beta? ;) Lots of groups have carnations.... Alpha Phi shares the bear with Alpha Xi Delta....Tri Delta shares the pansy with Kappa Alpha Theta...

There are too many possibilities! We need more clues! :) :) :)

.....Kelly :)

navane 11-09-2006 01:06 PM

Ooo wait....what about Alpha Omicron Pi?? I think that's a pretty solid guess! They have red and I know they've got chapters over in NC!

Crud, I'm usually way better at this. When people give ambiguous hints, it's like triple the work to figure it out due to the many possibilities. No fair! More clues please!

.....Kelly :)

Scandia 11-09-2006 01:21 PM

Those clues are too vague! So far only one has been eliminated! OK, I will eliminate a second one- Theta Phi Alpha does not have any NC chapters. Now we have 24 houses left to guess from.

blueangel 11-09-2006 01:28 PM

Alpha Sigma Alpha and Zeta Tau Alpha both have crowns, but only ZTA has the five pointed crown. ZTA also has a unique flower-- the white violet. Don't know of any other GLO that uses a strawberry.. and teal and steel grey aren't shared.. so I think ZTA is out. Darn! I was hoping you'd be my new sister.

Yep, we need more clues!

Yeah, I have been pretty evil with the clues so far! :D Let me go think of a couple more and I'll come back and post them before I go to work this afternoon.

But I will say you all have thrown out some really good guesses. And don't forget SK and Sigma share a color and flower..... :)

None in NC eliminates more than one would think. We don't have ASA, DPhiE, Phi Sig, AEPhi, SDT, and Theta Phi.

Jimmy Choo 11-09-2006 01:42 PM

Alright, let's see if this helps any. The GLO I joined was founded in or before 1902. This should help eliminate a few more.

Drolefille 11-09-2006 01:48 PM

SK is still an option :D

sailboatgirl 11-09-2006 01:55 PM

I'm going to guess Sigma...just because we have several chapters in NC and because I'm a Sigma! :D

That's my guess too. Mainly because today is founders day!

What about ADPi?

I second this! Is it AOPi? We have the rose as our flower--many sororities use different roses! Also, Kelly is right about us using red...We do have NC chapters, as well. We have the panda bear and other sororities use a bear...tell us more!

EGAOPi 11-09-2006 04:25 PM

Founded in or before 1902...so no: agd, aephi, dphie, sdt, or phi sig.

that still leaves us with:
adpi
azd
aopi
asa
ast
a phi
a chi o
g phi b
dg
tridelt
dz
zeta
theta
kd
kkg
pi phi
sk
sigma
phi mu
chi o

that does not narrow it down a lot! though i think someone mentioned there isn't asa in nc?
i'm thinking it might be zeta because you were so excited about the one zeta's signature or sk or sigma because you pointed them out... ;) i'm so curious!

my main guess right now is sigma sigma sigma

33girl 11-09-2006 04:51 PM

There is no ASA chapter in NC so that lets us out.

ms_gwyn 11-09-2006 06:25 PM

I like the idea of another sister

:D

if y'all don't know by now.....I guess Sigma

We share:
Purple
Pearl
Violet

and a few NC chapters...

I like it

Jill1228 11-09-2006 06:41 PM

I was wondering that too!

MJo19 11-09-2006 06:43 PM

Well it can't be Alpha Omicron Pi because they were founded in 1905. I'm thinking Gamma Phi Beta now. They share the carnation with other GLOs and the color pink with DG, Phi Mu, and DZ. Plus they were founded in 1902 and have a chapter at UNC-Asheville.

indygphib 11-09-2006 06:46 PM

Actually, we were founded on November 11, 1874. ;)

What are you talking about? We were founded in 1897...
Where did you get 1905 from?

AOPi's still in the running! ;)

and the crescent with Tri-Delt

MJo19 11-09-2006 06:54 PM

Sorry if I messed up dates..lol. I was looking at what date they entered into the NPC..whoops!..my fault and my apologies. :)

If you are talking about official colors, we DO NOT share a color with anyone and PINK is not one of our colors.

Our colors are brown and mode.

MJo19 11-09-2006 08:21 PM

ok ok so I am doing nothing but getting wrong info..corrected again! Thanks for the correction though. lol. An "unofficial" color...

I thought Pink was one of your recognized informal colors? But I could be wrong...

Now if I answered that..... that would make things way too easy!!! :D

I've got to think of some more clues.....

Jimmy Choo 11-09-2006 09:48 PM

Alright, I am running out of clues so here's another geography clue. Clearly you can tell what my alma mater is by my SN. I also live near 3 other major NC universities (I promise this isn't hard. There are 3 major universities within 30 mins of each other). The GLO I joined has at least one chapter on those campuses.

CuriousWildcat 11-09-2006 10:05 PM

I just read this entire thread in one sitting and now Im dying to know!

My favorite will and grace episode is the one with Cher. "Tiiiiooooommmmeee!!!"

Could you be more specific about what matches with another sorority?

Tippiechick 11-10-2006 12:05 AM

Congrats to you and your new home. :) So, are you in the triangle? Duke, UNC, NCState?

SigKapSweetie 11-10-2006 01:08 AM

I say Sigma K!

:D

No...the pink is just used a lot because brown isn't always beautiful and the pink carnation is our flower. Brown and pink together are also pretty fabulous. :)

Jimmy Choo 11-10-2006 01:23 AM

Ok, so my last clue didn't really help too much (even though it eliminated a couple more :) ) but here is a BIG one..... the GLO that I am now a member of has been joined by at least one other AI on GC. Couple this with some of the other clues and this list just got a WHOLE lot shorter.

Brown and pink together is more than pretty fabulous... it's HOT!!!! Those 2 colors layered or as accents are freakin gorgeous!!!!:D

Jill1228 11-10-2006 01:35 AM

so is this GLO on all 3 campuses?

But using the AI rollcall and those universities as a list it really narrows down the number of possibilities.
