Damn Hell PeePee!
60 + in KC Sun. Mon. Snowing like Hell with freezing Rain earlier on the way home! Huge flakes looking at 2-4 Inches. Maybe 50 Wed and @ 60 Thur. :o Someone is pissed at someone! |
It's snowing in Memphis today, forecast yesterday was for 1-3 inches possible, this morning 3-5 now there has been talking about possibly 7 inches. It's crazy. Took 1.5 hours to get home and normally takes 10-15 minutes.
|
It's snowing in Denver today as well. Couple inches at most, if that. We've not had much snow in the city this year and can use the moisture.
The mountains, on the other hand, are having a record snowfall year. |
What, What, Snow!
Just talked to Bookem and said maybe SNOW in KC tonight! Thanks DA!:p We always get Your Bounce over the Mountain Snow. Supposed to be heading South to The Pitt for Fraternity Meeting Sat.! Just Has Place cleaned Wed. and dont want to drag in Fire Wood and get on carpet! |
Of course, the weekend I actually decide to go home it's supposed to snow 5-10". We haven't seen that much snow here in years.

We're supposed to get between 6 and 12 inches this weekend. We'll see if that actually happens.

It is snowing in Lexington but we haven't gotten anything in Morehead yet. Thank god. I have to drive to work tomorrow and I have one broken windshield wiper...the drivers side of course. I don't know what I am going to do. I hate snow!!
|
"Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But in here it's so delightful And since we've got no place to go Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!" It's about damn time there's some snow - I want winter to be winter damn it! |

I heart it.
The best part is watching my dog go nuts in it. |

Up here in RI we are expecting 8-14 I saw.... |
Our meteorologists are saying 5-10 inches, which usually means 2-3 inches. It's supposed to continue through tomorrow afternoon, though, so perhaps they're right for once! I'm hoping they are, I love snow.
|
8-12" headed my way. Blizzard warning tonight through tomorrow. I just hope I don't lose power...
|
Supposedly a nor'easter heading in...aephi alum, are you in NY cuz I've been hearing 8-12 myself.
I had to laugh...I went to the store for like 2 things and there were a dang HUNDRED people there scrambling for food. I'm like, for real y'all, this is New York. The snow will be cleared in an hour. What is the issue? Not to mention the fact that if you do lose power, all the food's gonna spoil anyway!!!!!! |
I live in Connecticut.
Around here, it takes the city the better part of a day to clear snow off the streets. I live on a quiet little street, which is good most of the time - but that means it's one of the lowest-priority streets for snow plowing. |

Being that I'm from Georgia, originally, I'm surprised at how unaffected I'm becoming about any impending snowy danger. Maybe I have too much faith in the de-icing trucks and my snow tires!!! |
It's snowing here...not a lot, but enough for me to cancel my going-out plans tonight! Normally, it takes me about 45 min. to get home from the bars on a weekend night...with any snow, considering we haven't had any in at least a month, it will take an hour and a half.

Kansas, got to love it somethimes. Went on a two hour drive for a meeting. Finally got out of it! While at the Pitt for LX Meeting and did a turn around, drove back and forth in it back to KC. Heck, was snowing so hard, tuff to even see.:( Glad to be back at The Crib!!!!!!! Hope for a long spring! Oh, so so soon!:) But, remember, the trees are blooming, grass is growing, and the Friggen Moles are going nuts! Love Ks.!;) |
Sounds like New England is getting hammered. Good luck.
We got maybe 1/2 inch yesterday. We used to have a Norwegian Elkhound. She was so much fun to watch in the snow! |
We've got four inches and it's STILL snowing.
It's great! |
My area was supposed to be getting 5-10 inches, but being in a valley, we usually get a dusting. Instead of snow, we got a fair amount of rain.
Maybe we'll get enough to wash one of dorms away. That would be cool. |
We are getting NOTHING, at least by NE standards. As usual the men,I mean meteorologists, are overestimating their inches.:)

Woo Hoo
We have a dusting! (I never thought I could post on this thread!)
|
We got a dusting, with hard crunchy ice underneath it. It wasn't fun to get the windshield clean last night.
I'm glad we're not getting a N'oreaster. We've been lucky enough to have a very mild winter for Detroit and I would appreciate it if that trend continues. |
People in my area are reporting anywhere from 6 to 12 inches. People only blocks away from each other are reporting 6 inch differences. Some are reporting 13-15 inches. All I know is when I look out my window, I see lots of snow.
|
We've got at least 8" and it's still coming down.
From Weather Underground: Nowcast as of 8:57 am EST on February 12, 2006 Now An intense band of heavy snow will continue to slowly push east through 11 am...producing snowfall rates possibly as high as 3 to 5 inches per hour. Between 8 and 12 inches of additional snow may be possible during this time. Heavy snow will combine with winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph to create visibilities near zero at times. Hold off any travel plans until later as roads will be extremely dangerous. |
I'm looking outside and it doesn't look all that bad...but all the churches, businesses and EVERYTHING is closed. My friend was supposed to fly out of LaGuardia in a few hours but her flight just got cancelled. This is madness!
|
It is snowing in Atlanta now. I am not happy at all :( I hate snow! It's cold and messes everything up around here ...
|
As usual the Metro DC area is overreacting to the amount we got. Everything is closed today and we even got dispensation for attending Mass. I guarantee that the schools will have at least a 2 hour delay tomorrow for no reason.
|
SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been 20 years since I've seen snow fall. I've seen snow up in the mountains that's leftover from the winter before but it's been years since I've actually watched it fall.
I went outside in the morning to walk my dog and said to myself, "That's weird. The trees are shedding white stuff all over." It took me a minute to realize that it was snowing and there was a significant amount too. It didn't stick to the ground but it was still good enough for me! I immediately called my family and friends in Florida to let them know how excited I was. (NutBrnHair- I never thought I'd be posting in this thread either!) |

But I'm glad everyone else likes the snow :) |
My parents in CT have already gotten hit pretty hard, but it looks like the worst is over for them. Here in Boston it just keeps on coming.
|
According to the weather channel, NYC has set a record of greatest snowfall from a single storm (with 26.9" in Central Park).
Boston is expected to get 16-24 inches. DC got 8 to 9 inches (which is enough to close schools and stuff, even here in the snow belt of Michigan) Baltimore got about a foot, and Philadelphia a foot to a foot and a half. In Connecticut up to two feet have fallen. Up to 30 inches is forecast for the Hartford area. That's a major snow storm... by anybody's standards. In Michigan today, the sun was shining, although it was cold. Just had to mention that :) |
Hmmm...I'm still not seeing a nor'easter! :p
|
My dad was in Washington DC this week. He was supposed to come home today, but he didn't want to be delayed so he took a flight out yesterday afternoon. Sounds like that was a good move!
