Did anyone else think Wolf from Tenth Kingdom whenever Max was on?

No, just me?

I did! But I loved him as the wolf too!

I loved how they related the L-C-L love triangle with The Philadelphia Story. Genius!

HBADPi 12-06-2006 06:01 PM

Last night's episode was pretty disappointing. I dont like the Marty-Lucy storyline. I'm wondering where the producers are going with reintroducing Marty. Was it just me or did it feel like there were way too many commercial breaks?

hazelle 12-06-2006 06:46 PM

Hey, and the fight between Luke and Christopher....my goodness gracious, who would have thought...fisticuffs in Starrs Hollow?? But, it was cool the way they got it all out...and then, dusted themselves off, and went to their mutual autos....like nothing happened except a bit of dispersing of testasterone...ha ha

ALPHA XI DELTA...good sisters for life!

valkyrie 12-06-2006 06:47 PM

Lucy finally grew on me, and now I wonder if she's even going to be on the show much any more.

I don't mind Lorelai and Chris together (and don't care if she and Luke ever get back together) but last night, Chris was SUPER creepy. The shirtless "let's make a baby" stuff grossed me out like nothing else. It's painfully obvious that she's not really into him, but after that little speech from her mom, I wonder if she's going to realize that and dump him or try to become a meek little Stepford wife.

hazelle 12-06-2006 07:13 PM

The thing for me is, for the first time and I am an avid fan, last night was the first time I looked at Lorelai and kinda wondered...what is with her? If you watch the reruns, off and on, during the day, is she ever going to get the boyfriend/future husband thing right?? Thought it was so many of the previous guys and now, if Christopher isn't right, and Luke is shakey...maybe not even Stepford, just one of the "should have beens,,,could have beens" of Starrs Hollow. And a nice piece of acting by Kelly Bishop who is too often in the shadow of the great and glorious actor Edward Herrrman..aka Richard Gillmore. Trivia bits: she was the Mom in Dirty Dancing!!

ALPHA XI DELTA...the house of the golden Quill and golden friends!

Glitter650 12-06-2006 08:35 PM

I don't think she was trying to telling Lorelai that she needs to become a "meek stepford wife" she was telling her that in order to have a marriage you have to let the other person in, it's not all about you anymore. Nothing and no one is perfect.
I think Lorelai needed to hear that just like Rory needed to hear Mitchum Huntzburger tell her "I"m not keeping him away from you, get over yourself. I'm just trying to make him grow up a little and stop being so reckless" .

SoCalGirl 12-07-2006 01:15 AM

After Emily's speach I wanted Lorelai to ask how the heck do you compromise on children. You either have them or you don't.

polarpi 12-07-2006 01:37 AM

Could someone PLEASE post a recap of the episode - I forgot to set up for recording the episode! :(

Well, i will attempt to do a good recap, but I believe Sandy is the best as she remembers some good details, maybe she'll fill in if I leave off anything.

Episode starts with Lorelai and Chris "testing a kitchen" and some amusing bantor.

Emily is gung ho about the wedding celebration and hires a planner, much to Loelai's chagrin and much whining. He is a very over the top character who used to work on fancy opera openings and such and wants Lorelai to choose a theme and table settings, Rory calls during one of the meetings with the planner and she starts trying to get out of it by saying things like "oh no you need me to come right away ?? You may hurt yourself" but Emily can hear Rory through the phone saying she will have no part in helping her get out of this.

The whole episode Kirk is tryign to "outsell" the Stars Hallow middle school kids during their funraiser by selling paper of his own. Liz comes and leaves her new baby with Uncle Luke, who takes her for a walk and runs into Lorelai who holds her and chats with Luke about how Liz is doing, when Chris comes out of the store it's awkward and you can tell Chris is a little upset.
Later in bed he tells Lorelai that he wants to make a baby. She doesnt' seem too into the idea.

Meanwhile Rory explains to Logan about how she's been lying about knowing Marty to Lucy and Olivial. He seems kinda upset about it and later when they all go to dinner (Lucy, Marty, Rory, Logan) Logan outs the fact that they used to hang out all the time and watch Duck Soup together freshman year. Lucy is PISSED and leaves. Rory tries to rectify the situation, but Olivia says they don't want to talk to her.

Luke is waiting for April to show up to go to the movies with him, she's late so he calls her mother to ask if she's ok, she says she's not coming.
Later he goes to see a lawyer about trying to get some sort of shared custody.

He really doesn't want to do the court thing and the lawyer warns him he'll probably lose, but if he wants it there's no other way since April's mother is being unreasonable.
At another meeting with the party planner Lorelai and Chris are at the venue doing tastings and Emily mentions about where the exhange of vows will take place.
Lorelai says she doesn't want ot exhange vows since they are already married. Chris says he thinks its fine and she goes on about how she doesn't want to. He gets pissed and is upset because everything is about her, he moved to Stars Hallow, She doesn't want kids, She doesn't want the vows and they get into a tiff in front of Emily and the planner and Chris takes off.

Back at Stars Hallow Luke is getting back from the Lawyer and Chris is getting back from the Party Planner, they spot each other and silently just go for each other and have a brawl in the middle of the town square toppling x mas decorations everywhere, each getting some good punches in. They got at it for a while, then when they've had enough just stop and got their seperate directions.

The Episode ends with Lorelai coming home to find Emily at her doorstep, who has come to tell her that no one is perfect and marriage is serious and is about compromise. That it's not all about her. Lorelai actually seems to *maybe* take it to heart (or maybe she's just hurt) , but doesnt' say anything and steps inside.

hazelle 12-15-2006 12:21 AM

Pardon my deflating of one of my favorite actresses on Gilmore, but and its a giant but BUT!!!! Am I the only one who is starting to wonder if Lorelai really knows what love is all about...think about it...if you watch the reruns--she goes after guys like Amy in Judging Amy used to do....and she got no where also. Now, Christopher, before Luke, before ....??and at some point a while ago..it was one of Rory's teachers--and weren't they going to get married and suddenly it didn't work out for them either. I get so frustrated...the show is so damn clever with the fast paced puns and double entendres and clever repartee between all the characters--does anyone know a town like Stars Hollow?? I want to move there and have punny chats with funny quirky folks like them....but not as dopey as Mayberry....

KDAngel 01-30-2007 02:35 AM

Will the show go on? Talk about this being the last season possibly... I'd be so sad. http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristi...4-545e35ee9239

hazelle 01-30-2007 04:32 AM

Oh my God, a year without the snazzy and complicated and incredibly hysterical dialog between Lauren and Alexis...Lorelai and Rory??? NONO NONO! Think about it, this show is incredible and adorable and we are all hooked....but on a bigger picture, it created a genre of series dialogues between characters which many other shows have adopted and pale in comparision but still, it is a new manner of clever, quipy (is there such a word...ok I just created it!!) crisp, intelligent and just downright fantastic. No wonder, according to the blog, they are trying to raise the creative level....as a writer, I literally shake my head in appreciation and awe everytime Mom and Rory go at it in their reporter like descriptions of love, their lives and the comings and goings of all in Stars Hollow.

Crossed fingers, raise your coffee cups (what else...they are the caffeine spokesladies for Juan Baldez and Columbian coffee rushes!) here is to another roller coaster ride of season eight of Gilmore Girls!! (we lost Judging Amy ...we can't lose all the campy sophisticated character ensembles!!)

valkyrie 01-31-2007 03:18 PM

I'm done with this show. In last night's episode, all of the characters sucked except Richard and Luke, and I just don't care what happens to them any more or which guy Lorelai runs to next.

The Jackson/Sookie/fake vasectomy storyline was the most offensive thing I've ever seen on television -- I guess that was supposed to be cute and funny? WTF.

Drolefille 01-31-2007 03:24 PM

See ya later Christopher. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

/that's all I have to say for now.

tunatartare 01-31-2007 03:24 PM

I personally can't stand Sookie and hope that she walks into a manhole in every episode.

Did you like her better several years ago? Because I agree with you now, but in the early seasons she was so much fun...

I finally have the freaking CW I can give my two cents now!

I definitely agree with everything you said.

I was also disturbed at the fact that Rory let herself get so distraught over this Lucy chick. WTF? You don't know her that well, so why even give a shit?

I already knew that at some point this season, Chris was going to be out, and Luke's back in.

The show officially started sucking when A S-P left. Just let Rory graduate from Yale and end the damn show already. Alexis doesn't want to do it anymore, and Lauren won't continue without her -- so just end it!

HBADPi 01-31-2007 03:36 PM

Last night's show was awful valkyrie I agree I just dont care.

Chris being gone kinda ticked me off, after the episode where Lorelai's mom gave her the "he's your husband for better or for worse" speech I started warming up to them being together and its a bit too obvious to have Luke back in the picture. I would have liked to see Lorelai struggle with married life more than go through the who do I like better struggle again.

I feel like they the Sookie story line was done because the actress just found she's pregnant but she always looks pregnant (sorry but its true) so I'm sure they could have hid it behind her apron or something.

Oh and Richard's heartattack was only so that they could do the emotional episode this season!

I am so glad that I'm not the only one who feels this way!!! And drolefille, Sookie always annoyed me, even in the earlier seasons.

valkyrie 01-31-2007 04:13 PM

Seriously, leave her in the kitchen with some pots in front of her belly and nobody will ever know. I mean, saying that Sookie should stay in the kitchen where she belongs is no worse than having every woman in Stars Hollow get knocked up and suffer with it.

HBADPi 01-31-2007 04:33 PM

The way they told us she was pregnant with Martha was also really dumb. It just bothered me that Jackson and Lorelai had to tell Sookie that she was pregnant...as if the woman wouldnt have figured it out on her own.

I don't remember that. How did they tell her?

Dont remember the specifics but I remember it was the episode with the author Norman Mailer and he came to the inn but didnt like any of Sookie's food so she got all pissy and kept making food for him. She was going through the same mood swings and finally her and Lorelai had a light bulb moment where Sookie goes "the last time I was like this I was pregnant!"

Oh is that the one where everything she cooked tasted like garbage? Or was that with Davey?

HBADPi 01-31-2007 05:16 PM

Honestly cant remember but it was definitely one of the 2.

It was a very boring episode. Richard's first time in the hospital was more eventful.

The only thing close to exciting was the end when Christopher catches Luke and Lorelai in a moment. Hi, asshole -- you're the idiot who didn't answer your damn phone. Oh, and Michel had a brief cameo in the beginning.

Bringing Christopher back was just a bad idea. Everybody knew that Luke and Lorelai would eventually end up back together.

I miss you, AS-P.

Considering I used someone's bread crumbs, I found the site with teasers and know that things are on the upswing...but my question to you'all is should they end Gilmore this season?? Should we fight for another year especially if Alexis does not want to do it anymore, as the gossip goes, or should we just bow in respect?? Just like the older brother on 7th heaven it can it last??

I'm torn. I wouldn't want the show without Alexis though, so if she really doesn't want to do it, then I guess I'll say goodbye to it. I love the Lorelei-Rory banter though too much to watch it go without any disappointment though.

What does Alexis want to do instead? Anyone know?

KDAngel 02-28-2007 05:15 PM

I'm disappointed in Logan. I so want him to be a better guy than he's being. :(

What's there to be disappointed about? He lost a whole shitload of money and he wants to be miserable for a while and party with the boys. He was honest with Rory so why not? Rory irritated me a little with her little "we can fix it and it'll all be better" speech. The Miss Sunshine thing can get annoying at times. Somet things you just cannot fix.

I somewhat enjoyed this episode only because of the Laine/Mama Kim factor.

Although I must say I don't look forward to watching it as much as I used to.

lillady85 02-28-2007 07:03 PM

I agree with Rory being annoying at times. It seems that over the years she has gotten to be a prat. I really dislike when she'll get mad at Logan, he'll kiss her, and then suddenly everything is magically all better. I hope gilmorefan.com has the clips up soon. Did anyone see the trailer for the next episode or do they not have them anymore?

The Gilmore Girls (including Emily) take a road trip. To where, I don't know, but they did show Emily ordering a Chardonnay at what looks like a truckstop.

lillady85 02-28-2007 07:13 PM

LOL. Thanks. It reminds me of when she ordered quiche lorraine at the hospital.

valkyrie 02-28-2007 07:15 PM

Everybody but Emily, Richard, and Michel should get on Luke's new boat for a long trip on the ocean, never to be heard from again.

I could totally stop watching and then I wouldn't clog up this thread with my complaining. Gilmore Girls is like a guy I've been dating and I used to dig him but now he just annoys me and I wish he'd shut up and go away, but for whatever reason I haven't dumped his ass yet.

Because he'll change - you just know it! He just needs another week to come around. ;)
