I was excited to see your article, ms_gywn! I saw your name, and I smiled. :D It's amazing how things work out in the long run.

ms_gwyn 08-17-2009 01:38 AM

late reply, but thanks...I see no reason in hiding my journey and believe me, it was the best decision I made to come back home! no regret what so ever!

I saw it before it went to print and was like "oooh I know that person!"

I just moved to the Biloxi, MS area and was able to meet the sisters of the New Orleans Alumni Chapter! It was wonderful & am so excited to be a member of their chapter! It has helped me SO MUCH in the move to have Sigmas so close to not feel so alone and bored! We are already starting to talk about what we are going to do for Convention and I love the activities planned!

sigmaceli 08-30-2009 04:45 PM

I just moved to Louisiana! Maybe we'll meet each other soon! :D

Wonderful! Where are you in LA? Will you be joining the New Orleans chapter?

Hope to meet you soon! :D

sigmaceli 09-04-2009 12:34 PM

I'm in Baton Rouge - we have an alumnae chapter in Baton Rouge, but it is a little bit of a mess and they haven't met in over a year, so I may be headed down to NO for the time being. It's only 45 mins. away.

Oh you should! I drive the 2 hours from Biloxi! They do a lot and have things planned every month. There seems to be a good mix of older/younger members. PM me if you'd like more information. The next get together is a brunch on Sept 26! :D

ms_gwyn 10-04-2009 06:51 PM

because of my timing and when i got initiated and badge, Saturday was the first time I got to wear my badge....man the feeling I got. It is such an honor to wear the indented triangle to me, I got a little teary eyed. Also it looks like I might be a delegate for Convention...not counting my chickens but that would be exciting as well :D

CAB

So I am going back to do some advising. I was just appointed as a CAB member for a chapter.

It will be definitely different working with a well established chapater versus a first NPC colony on campus.

Congratulations!! Have fun planning your wedding...it all passes by so fast!

KSUViolet06 12-17-2009 06:29 PM

Congratulations cruise4fun!

In other news, I graduate on Saturday and become KSUViolet, M. Ed.

sigmaceli 12-17-2009 06:42 PM

YAY KSUViolet, M.Ed.!!! That's wonderful!

In other news, I got engaged too! Very exciting. Our first date was at the movie theaters, and so last night, since my family is in town, we all went to the movies.

Phil, my fiance, handed the ring to an usher and had him walk into the theater and ask if anyone lost a "little black box." Phil stood up and claimed it, then got down on one knee and popped the question! It was perfect. :)

First, Congrats Jocelyn!

Second, Sigmaceli, that is just too cute and romantic! I love how much effort he put into it to make it special and meaningful! Plus to have your family there - just very sweet. He's definitely a keeper - but I think you already knew that ;)

unicorn 12-17-2009 07:54 PM

Random things:

1. I miss Convention and can't wait for Disney in 2013. At least we have Volunteer Summit to look forward to every year.

2. I want everything in the most recent IKEA catalog.

3. I can't believe I'm going back for MORE school.

I didn't even KNOW there were new Care Bear videos being made. lol.

Also, I've been a Sigma for 6 years this weekend. Yay.

sigmaceli 09-08-2010 03:47 PM

Yay for Sigma anniversaries! I'll be 5 years this Nov.

KSUViolet06 10-18-2010 10:39 PM

I really couldn't think of where to post, but I HAD to share it.

The VP at Zeta Pi chapter received this as a gift and I thought it was super cute:

nittanygirl 10-18-2010 10:46 PM

^^^
saw this on the facebook page!
soooo cute! seems like it would take some time/patience to get all the stones to lay correctly & then add water w/o messing them up!

nittanygirl 11-12-2010 10:10 PM

GUESS WHAT!?!?!
I am officially a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma :)

KSUViolet06 11-12-2010 10:14 PM

^^^Congratulations on your Initiation!

It's all a bit overwhelming, but each time you see it, it tends to make more sense (and mean more to you).

I see new things in it every time I experience it.

nittanygirl 12-05-2010 11:20 PM

Beta Upsilon just initiated 6 new members tonight!

KSUViolet06 12-27-2010 12:18 AM

I hope everyone has had a great holiday season!

ilovetheviolets 12-27-2010 12:58 AM

My mother-in-law got me wonderful purple and white pajama pants. I pointed out they were sigma colors, she said she knew...i guess she was paying attention the countless times I pointed it out in the past.

nittanygirl 12-27-2010 11:19 AM

^^^^
"Like button?"

I got a purple & white & black coach wristlet from boyfriend's sister, and she also said that's what my boyfriend said when I told her they were my sorority colors.
Proud of the boy for remembering. She just knew I like purple :)

KSUViolet06 12-27-2010 04:43 PM

Aww yay for Sigma-themed gifts!

Sidenote: I'm a nerd. HQ is rolling out a new blog around NYE and I am way excited for it. Our Communications and Marketing Dept is awesome.

A Sigma blog?! Sign me up. I love our sorority. I really want to work as a consultant someday. And a volunteer. And anything else they'll let me do, haha.

KSUViolet06 12-27-2010 11:48 PM

^^^Psusue, when do you graduate? I encourage anyone who is interested in being a consultant to apply for it.

nittanygirl 12-28-2010 12:07 AM

psusue! i think you'd be great for something like that :) I'm behind you 100%

And I'm also excited about the blog! I think our chapter should have a blog. I've seen some done very nicely. I think there was a thread about blog vs webpage this summer. I'd like to see an integration of both.
