I think I'm going to schedule one for the first day before things start. I'm flying out of Spokane at 5 am which means I have to leave Moscow at 1 am, and I get to stop in Seattle and Sacramento on my way to Palm Springs. I don't feel too confident though, as two of my flights are reported to be 0% on time.

I shouldn't complain, the collegiate president is flying from Anchorage, and has to leave at 5 am or some nonsense like that on Sunday. I'll be snoozing peacefully.

The package of facial, massage, manicure & pedicure is $185, doesn't seem too unreasonable. I say yes to that!

Yeah, flying in and out of Anchorage is a pain in the butt. When I worked for United I always had a hard time routing people because flights were always at some weird time.

Normally I'd say that $185 could be spent elsewhere, but how often do I get to go on vacay at a place like that?

AGDee 02-27-2006 09:42 PM

My flights are booked :D My registration is going in the mail ASAP

Nice! What time will you be getting in?

AGDee 02-28-2006 07:37 AM

I'm flying into PSP and will arrive there at 11:25 am on Wednesday. My flight on Sunday goes out at 4 pm.

ETA: Unless I win 270 mil in the Megamillions tonight, then I'm buying that hotel and using it as my winter house, with plenty of guest rooms :)

AGDLynn 02-28-2006 11:19 AM

If I were going by myself, I'd would have flown into PSP, even with changing planes...but with 3 people, it's easier this way to go to LAX, lol.

I think we're on the same flight, too funny!

ETA: Oh no we're not. I come in the next day, same time though.

AGDLynn 02-28-2006 04:29 PM

Don't think anyone's posted that the Convention Countdown is on the Alpha Gam website:cool:

mu_agd 02-28-2006 04:41 PM

G-d, I'm so ready to head there and to warm weather and away from this place.

AGDLynn 02-28-2006 05:48 PM

Me 2!

I'm so sick of being cold!:p

Unregistered- 02-28-2006 06:08 PM

While I have no excuse for complaining about the weather here ;) it has been raining for days and days and it's not expected to clear up until Friday. :(

I could use some sunshine myself.

winnieb 02-28-2006 10:51 PM

It was actually beautiful here today!!! It is almost 9pm and still 82 degrees, and tomorrow it is suppose to be 76!!! Too bad I am stuck in the office all day-- and my office doesn't even have a window!

But back to topic--- I am arriving on Wednesday at 720pm in PSP, and flying out on Sunday at 920am.

greeklawgirl 03-04-2006 10:49 AM

Just popping in briefly to post that I sent in my registration packet just before the deadline. Still trying to figure out flights and now the husband is saying...but its so close, shouldn't you just drive????

Ummm....only if he lets me use his car, because 4 sets of luggage will not fit into mine! :)

AGDLynn 03-04-2006 11:11 AM

Registration in :D
Airlines reservation made (even though they switched planes, now I have to get with Pres and VPR to get new seats) :D
Car reservation made:)
Election ballot mailed in:D :D

Okay, I am sooo ready!:D:cool

Hey Sandy, I'm hoping you're still all knowledgeable in all things United and can answer a question for me. Do they ever reduce the price of flights? and if so, is it at a certain time? The flight that I'd prefer to take is the more expensive of the two options and I'm wondering if I should just book it or if there is a chance they might reduce the price. Do you know?

TXagd 03-04-2006 08:19 PM

so excited

Ok so I'm excited for 2 reasons...

1. I just found this lovely site
2. one word---convention!

Unless price wars are going on, most likely no.

The best fares usually have an advanced purchase requirement, usually 21, 14, or 7 day.

Ok thanks. I just went ahead and booked those flights. Arriving on the 21st and leaving on the 28th. It's going to be a nice break from work!

AGDLynn 03-13-2006 12:25 AM

The time clock is about to go down to 99 days!

Taualumna 03-15-2006 08:29 PM

Just mailed out my Convention registration info.

VandalSquirrel 03-22-2006 05:43 PM

I had surgery last week, and at my follow up appointment yesterday I was informed I am not supposed to be flying for a few months. The dry air, other people's germs, and then the combination of dry hot air and AC air of the resort could cause me real problems.

Which means if I want to go to convention I need to find another way to get there. I'm either going to have to drive the 1500 miles/2 days (which could be fun) spending the night in Utah somewhere or take the a combination of trains and buses, which I am not too keen on as one option involves a 12 hour bus ride from Klamath Falls to Pasco.

I think I'll be picking some maps up at AAA this week.

edited for poor geography and milage

AGDee 03-28-2006 05:26 PM

I received election results via email today!

AGDLynn 03-28-2006 06:34 PM

WHO WHO!!!

Can you tell us?

ETA: Oops...didn't check my other email address, lol.

The past IC did a great job! I know I couldn't do it so I admire them for everything they accomplished.

Installation at Convention is a thrill!! Maybe I'll wear shoes;) :D (Sorry, it's an inside joke. but one of the new IC will get it, lol )

AGDLynn 04-11-2006 09:36 PM

http://www.juliefeldmandesigns.com/

Julie got her start by having an Alpha Gam roommate whom she got to practice on :)

She knows the GTau Pres so she told E that she might drop in on her at the hotel which she knows well.:D

Do I hear big group discount???;) Please!

mu_agd 04-18-2006 12:50 PM

I just got my registration confirmation. Anyone else?

AGDLynn 04-18-2006 11:03 PM

MEEEE

I skimmed through it but I'll probably have it memorized soon, lol.

Glad to see that I will be able to fit in most of of the workshops that I truly wanted to go to! Wish at least 1 or 2 could be by the pool.

It was neat the way that they had examples of what to wear, lol.

winnieb 04-19-2006 10:08 PM

I got mine!!! Yeah!!!

Taualumna 04-20-2006 01:22 AM

Me too. :)

Taualumna 04-20-2006 04:39 PM

Convention Rant...

The $99 rooms are COMPLETELY BOOKED, according to the hotel. I have left a message with IHQ, hoping that things will be straightened out.

Tom Earp 04-21-2006 04:31 PM

Hope all Of You AGD Ladys who are going to Convention have a Great Time!!!!!:)

Tell Connie I said Hi!:D

I am sure She will go, what You know Tom Too!:)

It is fun and very tiring if You havent been, but it is one great time to see Sisters from all over!

NutBrnHair 04-21-2006 04:40 PM

Ladies, maybe you should invite Tom to attend -- he could be honorary "Squirrel Man" or something! :)

Taualumna 04-29-2006 10:23 AM

Issue solved!

I've booked my room! I had to call yesterday to re-book, because the reservations desk rep (which is apparently a call center) I spoke with the first time round had NO IDEA who Alpha Gamma Delta is!   So I'm now confirmed under the group $99 rate and will be arriving on the evening of Wednesday, June 21.

See you there!! :)

AGDLynn 05-10-2006 07:54 PM

I went to my travel plans on Expedia to copy and send to my Rec. Advisor who will be meeting us at LAX.

They keep changing the plans...now they have us leaving 2 HOURS before we were scheduled to! I don't know if they are going to change us back once more.

My Pres is in Mexico and won't be back until June 6th so we may have to wait and see when she gets back to coordinate plans.

AGDee 05-10-2006 11:10 PM

I got an email yesterday from America West saying that my travel times have changed. I haven't had a chance to call them yet to find out what the changes are.

I got an email from American Airlines also saying my plans have changed. I am not sure what the change was though.

Taualumna 05-11-2006 04:30 PM

I have the opportunity to go to Switzerland this summer, which means that my Convention plans might have to be changed. The trip is mid July to the end of July, so basically it means that if I go to Convention, I'll only have two weeks back in Toronto. What should I do? I called IHQ and they told me that the last day to pull out is Monday.

AGDLynn 05-11-2006 08:12 PM

So what are you going to do in Toronto? ;)

Do you want to wait 2 years to see us? ;)

On the topic of the planes..that's wierd, maybe all the airlines got together and said "Let's see how many squirrels we can make nuts!":D

AGDee 05-11-2006 10:50 PM

There are actually only a couple airlines that fly into Palm Springs and often, when you book through a different airline, you end up on one of the affiliates. So, even if it's booked through American, it might still be America West's flight, etc. Mine actually says the flights in and out of Palm Springs is on Mesa airlines, on a Canadian airbus. I didn't get a chance to call today either, but from looking at their website, it looks like mine have only changed by a few minutes. Looking at seating, there aren't a whole lot more seats left either!

Taualumna 05-17-2006 11:43 PM

Update...

...because I've just been hired for a new job (well, it was originally because of Europe, but now that I have this job, even Europe might not be happening), I've decided not to go to Convention :(.

I'll try to make it for 2008.

Have a great time squirrels! :)

AGDee 05-25-2006 01:42 PM
