I think the song Buffy and Xander danced to is "sugar water"

I don't really have a hard question: What is the name of the song that plays in the end of becoming part 2?

ASUADPi 09-13-2005 10:17 PM

Full of Grace by Sarah McLachlan

Name the song that played in Dead Things when Buffy was walking to Spike's crypt? (kind of easy I know, but it is the only question I could think of off the top of my head)

ms_gwyn 09-13-2005 10:18 PM

I was actually kidding about the question....

but whatever floats your boat..

answer: ok so ASUADPi beat me to it by a minute!

(to her question) Bush: “Out of this World

My question: we shall keep with the theme

what episode are these lyrics from, what is the name of the song and who sung it (character name please)
All these melodies, they go on too long.
Then that energy starts to come on way too strong.

Once More with Feeling ~ the demon Sweet

If Dru sired Spike, Angel sired Dru, and Darla sired Angel, who sired Darla the 1st time & the 2nd time? (hope this wasn't asked already....)

annice22 09-14-2005 10:48 AM

The Master dressed as a priest sired Darla first and Drusilla sired her second.

Time out, please!

Okay, maybe I missed something, but I thought Angel sired Spike? Someone explain this one to me again, cause I'm just missing something :)

ms_gwyn 09-14-2005 04:17 PM

common misconception....

Because of "School Hard" S2 and Spike's comments....everyone always thought this, until Joss said something about it later during S2 that Angel did NOT sire Spike.

Fast forward to "Fool For Love" Season 5 and you see that Dru sired Spike.... very much of the Spike myth explored/explained in this eppy....one of the best episodes.....

annice22 09-14-2005 06:57 PM

How did it turn out that Dawn was not a potential slayer?

ASUADPi 09-14-2005 07:33 PM

Dawn and Amanda were in the school fighting off a vamp. Amanda had mentioned that she had gone to the house (Buffy's) and that she got hit by this "energy ball" and got "discombobulated" (he he I don't know if I spelled the word right but it was fun). Then Dawn admitted that it was Amanda who was at the door when the spell was performed.

How did Lindsay lose his hand? (FYI I love this actor and he's kind of hot. LOL)

annice22 09-14-2005 08:07 PM

Angel cut his hand off. Yeah he is kind of cute reminds of my ex.

Behind the Scenes

Buffy trivia - why did the writers "kill" Joyce off of the show?

ASUADPi 09-15-2005 05:13 PM

I'm pretty sure the reasoning (and with being at work I can't pop in my DVD's but I have watched the commentary) behind it was that they (the writers) really wanted Buffy to "grow up" in a sense and there were (are) obstacles that she needed to overcome without Joyce being front and center.

fyi: Kristine knew they were killing Joyce off back in S.3

What are Joss Whedon's "top 10 episodes"? (Hint: the answer is in season 7 dvd's)

Tickled Pink 2 09-15-2005 05:54 PM

I'll come back to answer your ?. I read somewhere that Kristine had moved to France & that made it really hard for her to keep coming back to do the shoots, so as Spike would say they "offed" her.

ETA: Did I ever tell you - I really hate your DVDs! :D Us po' folks rely on TiVo! (j/k) Where's ms gwyn when you need her?

Tickled Pink 2 09-15-2005 06:09 PM

AHA!

Articles are not cheating....right?

Show's creator takes a stab at 10 favorite episodes

Here are creator Joss Whedon's 10 favorite episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. With each show is its original airdate, a description by USA TODAY's Robert Bianco and a brief explanation from Whedon. (Unless otherwise noted, the episodes were written and directed by Whedon.) (Related item: See scenes from all the top 10 episodes.)
1. Innocence (Jan. 20, 1998)

Every girl's nightmare, and one of the show's most sly yet most powerful uses of metaphor. Buffy has sex with Angel, who immediately turns into a monster. Though devastated, Buffy realizes that her mission is more important than her feelings.

Why? "It's a mission-statement show, and one of the ones where I first found out what we could do."

2. Once More With Feeling (Nov. 6, 2001)

The musical episode, in which a demon causes everyone in Sunnydale to burst into song. The songs are comic and romantic at first, but they get darker, until, at the end, Buffy reveals that she would rather be dead. Oklahoma! it's not. Whedon also wrote the well-regarded score.

Why? Whedon was given a chance to write an original musical for TV, an opportunity that few series writers ever get. He loved it: "What am I going to say?"

3. Hush (Dec. 14, 1999)

The (mostly) silent episode, and one of the series' most traditionally scary. A group of floating demons, The Gentlemen, steals the voices of everyone in Sunnydale — a prelude to harvesting their hearts.

Why? See below.

4. The Body (Feb. 27, 2001)

A particularly haunting episode built around the death of Buffy's mother and the way death transforms a person into a body. Joyce's loss is one of the few natural deaths in the series, and it provoked one of the show's most serious episodes.

Why? On some series, "Hush" and "The Body" would exist solely to show off some gimmick. Whedon is proud of the episodes precisely because they aren't stunts; each advanced the season's big story, and each made perfect sense in the Buffy universe.

5. Doppelgangland (Feb. 23, 1999)

While casting a spell, Willow accidentally brings forth her alternative-universe vampire double, whom viewers first met in "The Wish." It turns out Vampire Willow is very hot, very bad and, as Willow says, "kind of gay" — a sign of things to come.

Why? "Because one Willow is certainly not enough."

6. The Wish (Dec. 8, 1998)

Anya the Vengeance Demon grants Cordelia's wish that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale, creating a universe where The Master's vampires rule. Buffy arrives and is killed by The Master. Written by Marti Noxon; directed by David Greenwalt.

Why? "Very bleak, very fun. It went to a dark place, and that's really exciting to me. That's where I live."

7. Becoming, Part II (May 19, 1998)

The second-season finale, as Buffy rushes to stop the soul-free Angel from destroying the world. Willow does restore Angel's soul, but not before he opens a vortex that will suck the world into hell. The only way for Buffy to close the vortex is to kill the man she loves — which she does.

Why? "Buffy loses everything. Also, it had a sword fight. I love sword fighting."

8. Restless (May 23, 2000)

The fourth-season finale. Having saved the world again, Buffy and her friends plan to spend a peaceful evening at home. Instead, they're sucked into a dream world where they are hunted by the First Slayer.

Why? "Most people sort of shake their heads at it. It was different, but not pointless."

9. Conversations With Dead People (Nov. 12, 2002)

Buffy, Willow and Dawn chat with the dead: Buffy with a vampire, Dawn with her mother, and Willow with Tara. But Willow isn't actually talking to a dead person at all; she's talking to The First, the season's "Big Bad." Written by Jane Espenson and Drew Goddard; directed by Nick Marck.

Why? "I'm very fond of 'Conversations With Dead People.' I just thought structurally and tonally it was very interesting and had a lot to say. And I got to write another song."

10. Prophecy Girl (June 2, 1997)

The first-season finale. Shaken by a prophecy that she will die at the hands of The Master, the series' first "Big Bad," Buffy resigns as Slayer. But when she realizes that she's the only one who can stop The Master from taking over the world, she returns to face him — and dies. Briefly.

Why? "Because that was my first time, besides telling directors what to do, that I actually got to direct. And it was the first time I got to kill Buffy, and the first season ender, and it was the first time I realized I could take everything we did in the season and tie it in a bow."

Question:

What did the Scoobies use the Urn of Osiris for?

AOIIalum 09-15-2005 07:04 PM

Nope, articles are certainly not cheating ;)

Wow, I think I know this one. Translation--please be gentle if I'm wrong this time!

The Urn of Osiris was part of the spell used to bring Buffy back from the dead (remember, the whole Key and Glory dead episode in The Gift, and not the other Dead Buffy resurrections.) But got all broken before the spell was completed.

When did Andrew first appear on Buffy and why was that important?

ASUADPi 09-18-2005 11:15 AM

I have to admit the first time I read the question I actually started searching when the first time Tom Lenk appeared on Buffy (The Real Me, Cyrus (one of Harmony's minions), he helped kidnap Dawn) not when Andrew first appeared. LOL.

So Andrew....

He first appeared in Flooded. He is part of the Trio that will cause Buffy nothing but mischief throughout the season (until Warner decides to kill Tara). They teamed up to "take over Sunnydale". And a little FYI on Andrew, his brother Tucker was the one who released the hell hounds on prom. Andrew made "flying demon monkeys" attack the school play.

"I would kill to live in LA, that close to that many shoes". Who say's this line? In what episode? What is the importance of this line and how does it relate to Chosen?

AOIIalum 09-18-2005 11:49 AM

Isn't it Cordelia? Couldn't tell you the ep, but it's an early one. I'm guessing :) that it's foreshadowing about her eventual move to Angel.

Did I get any of it right?

ASUADPi 09-18-2005 11:53 AM

It is Cordy who says the line and it was in Welcome to the Hellmouth, but the real question is..

what is the lines importance and how does it relate to Chosen?

(hint, watch Chosen and you'll understand why the line is important)

If I could burn the DVD's for you I would totally send you a copy.

AOIIalum 09-18-2005 03:47 PM

I know you would. But, I have a feeling I'll be the proud owner of the new box set in the near future.

Anyone else able to answer the last question?

To answer the second part of the question: Buffy said that she had a wicked shoe craving (I can so relate).

ASUADPi 09-18-2005 08:40 PM

Actually what I was looking for was how Spike said in Chosen "I'm drowing in footwear" right before he awoke and Buffy said that they could "win". (Buffy also did say she had a wicked shoe craving at the end prior to battle).

I probably should have specified why it was important with Spike. Obviously, we found out the next day that James would be moving to Angel, hence the line. It makes sense now, knowing what happened, but when it first aired I was like "what the heck is Spike talking about (or dreaming about)?"

Let's try another one.

Brian Thompson played what roles on Buffy?

ms_gwyn 09-18-2005 08:49 PM

Brian Thompson played Luke in Welcome to the Hellmouth and The Harvest and The Judge in Surprise and Innocence.

What is the importance of the Ferula Gemina and what episode was it used?

Bonus Brian has an affinity for vampires...which other show did he play a vampire?

The Ferula Gemina is the stick that the Toth demon had. It splits a person into 2 - one with all of the person's weaknesses and one with all of the strengths. It was in The Replacement when he hit Zander with it and split him in 2.

Brian Thompson played in Fright Night 2 as Bozworth.

In what episode of Buffy was there absolutely no music (hint - it's not "Hush")?

I think it may have been the episode where Buffy's mother died... ? <blanking on episode title> Meaning, the ep dealing with her death... I think she died at the end of the previous ep. My husband is being mean and not allowing me to review our DVD collection....

ms_gwyn 09-18-2005 10:15 PM

the body

I really, really, dislike that eppy, I haven't watched all the way through since it originally aired.

I was actually going for Kindred: The Embraced

Q: Who said: We should figure out what kinda deal this
is. I mean, is it a-a gathering, a shindig or a hootenanny?

What episode and in reference to what....

ASUADPi 09-18-2005 10:28 PM

Okay I'm guessing here..

I know it was Oz who made the comment. I'm pretty sure it is in relation to the party the gang wanted to throw for Buffy in Season 3 right after she came back from LA. I think the episode was titled Dead Man's Party.

Am I right?

Ms_gwyn, we still on for Friday?

ms_gwyn 09-18-2005 10:32 PM

oh yea we are still on....

I just haven't had time to PM you

I also have to look at my flight info....I don't remember it!

I do know that I should arrive around 2:00 and I don't have to be at my function until 6:30ish....

but yea we are on :)

ok...I think this needs a little bumping...

I've been wanting to ask this question for a while and its kinda apropos

What current Fox TV show has 2 Buffy ties, name, character name (if it applies) and episode name (if it applies). To give you a hint this does NOT feature a main character, i.e. Nicholas Brendon in Kitchen Confidential or David Boreanez in Bones (I forgot about that one)....Another hint....think Season 2

Prison Break: Michael Scofield and played Gage in the buffy episode Go Fish.

Family Guy: Seth Green and played Oz on buffy

Not sure if these were the 2 people you were thinking about.

ms_gwyn 09-26-2005 02:32 AM

I am not referring to Seth Green...he was a main character at one point in time....

you have the first part correct, in the answer the 2nd person may or may not be a Behind the Scene person....also I am asking for the Real Life name of the actor and not the name of the character on a different show (i.e. Prision Break)

I can't find it, so I'mma guess.
China? I remember see one opening with an oriental girl getting killed, but I'm trying to remember if that was the bringers - or Spike. Then there was one with the punk rocker girl.

ms_gwyn 10-07-2005 10:57 PM

because of the hair...i'm going germany or spain...i'm getting people mixed up!

James 10-08-2005 03:26 AM

Was Buffy ever cancelled and brought back?

ms_gwyn 10-08-2005 09:36 AM

no they moved networks....from the WB to UPN
