If I'm incorrect on that, I'd like to know from AI's (not collegiate initiates) who is against discussing AI and why.

Why should they feel obligated to tell you why?

And why should collegiate initiates be excluded? They have a right to express their opinion if it affects membership into their organization.

This is really funny!

Jill1228 10-23-2006 05:32 PM

What business of yours is that? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions..even when they don't agree with yours.

We are all grown folks here! No one has to explain or justify a doggone thing to you (or anyone else for that matter)!

That's right, I didn't think so.

Again, the issue here isn't whether or not we support Alumnae Initiation. Most of us (with the exception of one) support it. Many of us do not support Alumnae Initiation discussion.

Please take the time to read through some of the threads when you have the time.

Basically she didn't read (or perhaps understand) the forum.

That's what I'm thinking. I've seen new GCers come on and read the first few posts of the thread without taking the time to see where the discussion actually went...and then posting their two cents.

I'm thinking this might have been the case.

Sorry, but this is an open Greek Chat Site, run by one person, not the few who profess to do so or try to.

If they want to post on this site, it is not anyones decision but the Administrator.

I find some of the new people refreshing as opposed to others.:(

Not all are Anti PNAI, so let them do it and try.

You in an a general term are not the final judgement for any GLO.

1. Who are you talking to?
2. What the hell did you just say?

ReachTheLimit 10-23-2006 06:01 PM

I just find it odd that I haven't read a single post in the AI forum where the SPECIFICS of AI was discussed by PNAI's.

In fact, those seeking AI never mention the name of the sorority until after they are extended an invitation to join.

It's like the anti-AI people are protesting discussions that aren't taking place.

Welcome to Fantasy Island.

1) I agree with you
2) I agree with you
3) No duh, but you're missing the point
4) An NPHC member has no opinion on AI.. certainly no relevant one
5) No one is trying to be except for you it seems...

Funny because I can think of two off the top of my head.

And of course you won't find the threads, silly. They've been removed from the public forums, but I remember them and the PNAMs quite well. :)

What's a PNAI? I am not sure a "term made up on GreekChat"="actual step in membership procedure for NPC organizations."

No i was referring to you for all 5 points. No, my opinion is just as important as yours. My post talks about you. As a non-NPC member your opinions are just as valid as an NPHC member.

Aware of WHAT? That PNAI is a made-up term that is not used by my NPC organization or NPC in general? I'm well aware of that.

I've said it before, Tom, but I must have missed the memo where LXA took charge of dictating what NPC organizations do and what they say about it. Please do a better job educating the NPC on your authority and I am sure we will all just keep our opinions to ourselves once you've done so. Until then, butt out.

Gee, last I checked, this was a forum where people are allowed to ask questions. If you don't want to answer, that is fine. I just find it odd that it was said that "many people" are against discussing it, yet no AIs will step up to the plate. Why is that?

I'll step up.

I DON'T WANT TO DISCUSS AI ON GREEKCHAT BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU HAVE TAKEN A GREAT THING AND TURNED IT INTO A TRAIN WRECK.

Over the last year or so since I was initiated there have been way too many people coming on here going about things the wrong way, not taking no for an answer and then getting encouraged by people saying "don't worry, try someone else." Hmmm, maybe sorority life isn't for everyone.

It's a pity too since all the "older" AI's on here busted their butts to get where they were and have done a lot for their organizations, the new ones I don't see what they are doing for their groups to better them.

Now when you report me, spell the name right please!!!

KunjaPrincess, I think this post should serve as template post for the many AIs who share in your opinion.

I agree with everything you just said, but it's a shame that my opinion doesn't count because I'm a collegiate initiate.

If your post does get reported, it's a shame because it doesn't merit a report to the AI sub-forum mods and I hope they take note of that. :)

They are our sorority sisters, not second class citizens. Those pursuing AI, good luck-- post in the right forum once you get initiated. This isn't a place to journal your 30 year search for membership in ABC. Try LiveJournal.

worth repeating!

I'm asking a simple question.. have been cordial and polite... so why the hostility? You know, this is exactly how the "train wreck" starts... the hostile answers to simple questions. Let's put blame where it's due.

Now, can you please clarify? Exactly what is the "wrong way"? and.. who has "not taken no for an answer?" Who said "don't worry, try someone else?"

You see.. when an untruth is told often enough.. people start to believe it.

As an aside.. I wonder if the hostile remarks are purposely started by the people who want to see the AI forum go away.. because they want the trainwrecks in hopes John will do away with it?

I'm curious as to what the "older AIs" have to say regarding their opinions on whether AI should be discussed or not. Any "old AI" want to chime in?

Discussing was fine until people started blowing smoke up peoples asses and downplaying the experience to those of us who went about it the right way. Oh yeah I forgot you needed clarification about what the right way was! DISCRETELY!!! If you don't know what discretion means then you are likely burning bridges.

Have you ever heard of actions speaking louder than words? Maybe you should ponder that. Giving people hope that AI is easy and the answer to many of the PNAI's on this board is so not true. I don't care how many people on here are AI's, the fact is it is not a common occurance and to imply that it is is not fair to the PNAM's or the initiated members who are the ones dealing with the slack when they have to field the questions.

PMing more than one person asking for help is going about it the wrong way. Many people on here talk outside of the forums and it isn't to hard to figure out that Suzy PNAM PMd me, Smrtblnde, JILL1228, OTW and KDDani (pulling names out of my hat, not saying it really occured) asking for help. Especially since a lot of the time the PNAM's don't even do their research and figure out who is friendly with each other.

Now as to why the hostility? Simple. You give AI's a bad name. Every single thread on here you start acting like this big martyr, picking fights, instigating and generally acting like a prize female dog. I didn't have a problem with you until I realized that you were right in the thick of every single "discussion" on AI and are usually the one causing many of the problems. You are making a nice friendly big group of panhellanic sisters get hostile with each other and are generally giving greek life a bad name. If I was not initiated already and foudn this site I would see you causing so much trouble and think I was back in high school so why would I want to research any further.
