Ms. Shamika LaQuandra Taylor, I may be a bit insensitive, but before I proceed, let me take a moment to share something with you, or remind you incase you already knew and just forgot. Life is full of CHOICES. The way you live your life depends on the CHOICES you make. You CHOSE to come on a message board to share your experience and your opinion with a wide variety of people ranging from men to women of all ages and ethnicities. According to our constitution, you have that right. Understand that like you exercised your right, I will exercise mine. I am making a CHOICE to offer you some advice because a part of me thinks that you are actually worth it. It is your CHOICE whether or not you CHOOSE to take it. You obviously didn't CHOOSE to take anyone else's.
But first, in order for you to understand OBJECTIVELY where those who actually took the time to respond to these threads were coming from, take a moment and re-read YOUR words. Don't just scan over them, READ them:

1.) Please reassure my decision, so I can print this out and show this to my sorors,
Friends, and my family.

I just recently crossed in another BGLO, but Zeta is in my heart, has been in my
heart, and always will be in my heart. I will do whatever it takes. Even if I have
to officially change my name. People have the nerve to act all funky and stuff.
My sorors has abandoned me. I’m disappointed and Shocked that My granny
(who is a Zeta) is against my decision the most.

2.) I got sidetracked by my current organization because most of the sorors were attractive. Looking back, it was a stupid reason why I chose this organization. I matured a lot within the last few months. Therefore, I believe that I deserve forgiveness and support for my change of mind.

3.) What are you confused about? I am very serious. These kind of things happen all the time. So, don't act like I'm unsual.

4.) Be happy that I'm now a Christian. I was not expecting such stankness. It looks like I'm not going to get any support. I must leave or I will say something unchristianlike.

5.) I don't know how to put this any other way. I HAVE MATURED. SO WHY DON'T I DESERVE ANY ENCOURAGEMENT?

6.) I'm not just a negro. I'm a 100% fine and Christlike BLACK WOMAN!

7.) Oh hell no they didn't! And yall say that I'm out of place?

Some of these men and women may be your elders, and I'm sure that you have been raised to respect your elders. But that's not the point that I'm trying to make. The point that I'm trying to make is that YOU made a CHOICE. No one made it for you and no one made you make it. A part of me is still skeptical. I cannot understand how someone can "knowingly" CHOOSE to devote their entire life to an organization and change their minds like they're changing clothes. Maybe it's not for me to understand. But I do know that it's not that simple. Nobody held a gun to your head and made you do it. It was your CHOICE. And then you CHOSE to come on a message board where people from all over the country and maybe even the world participate in, to ask for...what was that again...reassurance? Why? They don't even know you... You can't be serious. But just incase you are, here's a bit of advice; take some time, and the energy that you're using to bicker on a message board with people you don't know about something only you can help yourself with, and go soul searching so that you don't keep making CHOICES you don't want to make. Your time soul searching will be well spent.

First of all you guys are hysterical. I have not laughed this hard in God only knows how long so thank you for bringing up my mood. Second of all Shamika you are u crazy. YOu thought that you were gonna come into a thread tell people that you chose a different Org b/c of looks and they were gonna take with you open arms. You need commit yourself. And BTW a MATURE PERSON( as you claim you are) would take responsibility for their decisions.

Well, I dont know what to tell you. You should have gone with your heart. My sister is an AKA and I know things would have been a lot easier between us if I would have pledged AKA. You have to go with your heart.

You can always be a Sigma Dove...have SOME kind of affiliation with the Blue and White Fam! (JOKINGLY)

-- I dont really see the need to tear Shamika T. down... And for people who think that "Zeta does not take women who make mistakes," thats really disheartening. Nobody is above human and mistakes...even if you ARE a Zeta. Nobody is perfect. Even if people pledge something else, we are still a part of the NPHC...there are many Black people who do not even make it to college. We as black greeks have SO much to be proud of and thankful for . We need to stop tearing people down....

This is currently one of my favorite threads on GC, along with the one about the Chi O who wants to transfer and join a new sorority, and the one about the girl who wants someone to place a call for her and her into a good sorority since her grandma's isn't acceptable for her. (That one, unfortunately seems to have died. :()

I've been persuing Zeta for about 8 months now. I ain't hardly get anywhere. Not on GC, not on PledgePark, nor in real life. I thought if I just keep on pushin' and pushin' that I would get somewhere, until about a week ago. You know what these heffas had the nerve to say? "If you don't stop messing with us, we will slap a restraining order on your ass so fast that your head will swim!"

Oh no they dient threaten me with that mess.

I don't need anymore things added to my record. So, I better leaves these women alone.

Where should I go from here? Figuratively AND literally.

Shamika, you have blacklisted yourself. You have no one to blame but yourself. Accept your mistakes, learned from them, and move on.

I say keep pursuing Zeta, ShamikaT. Girl, if that's what's in your heart, go for it!

Just move to another state, and pledge. Yeah. Do that. It'll work. :D
