SAME HERE!!! :D

mu_agd 04-02-2005 03:51 PM

Just finally saw the episode today. I love the brothers more and more every week. I want to go drink beers with them. Hell, I want to go buy beers for them for the way they beat out Ray and Deanna. I was so nervous for them when the car rolled over and I'm glad they are ok and I hope the cameraman ended up ok.

And I don't think I would have stopped either. I probably would have rolled down the window and asked them if they were ok while driving by, but that's it. They clearly had enough people there helping them. And if you have ever watched the insider videos, you know the cameramen and production team are all always in constant contact with each other so if more help was needed it would have been gotten. There was nothing the other teams could have done anyways.

Anyone else think that Uchenna and Joyce are like Hera and Gus from last season. Enjoyng this race to the fullest? [/B][/QUOTE]

Yes and No.
No, because they are clearly more competitive then Hera and Gus were in the last race. They are more like the winners of the last race.

Yes, they are enjoying the race to the fullest---get to travel around the world with the person that you are close to. They get to compete with other teams and test their own enderance.

dzandiloo 04-03-2005 02:24 AM

Uchenna & Joyce are my favorites this season...they are just so good hearted & try so hard (and def. more competitive than Gus & Hera, although I loved them too). As soon as they walked into that orphanage, I thought-they are going to come away from this race w/a stronger marriage, and will probably end up adopting a ton of kids. They should definitely be parents.

The brothers are my second favorite team...I love how close they are, and they are just hilarious. I'm glad i had read some spoilers b/f I watched the ep, otherwise I would have had 2 heart attacks - the first after the wreck, and the second as they were racing to the finish b/f Ray & Deana.

Rob & Amber are good for entertainment value, but I don't really want them to win. And did anyone catch Amber's face when Rob was being a jerk while they waited to see if they could do the fast forward--he was sayin "would you just make a decision for once" or something like that...she said nothing, but her face said "hey Rob - remember, I already won a million. You did not, so watch it...."

The boyfriends are working my last nerve. Sorry. They make me laugh occasionally, but usually they just piss me off.

If what the spoiler sites have been saying is true, then I'll be happy -- and I think many of you will be too -- with who wins the prize. :)

No matter who wins, I don't want to know. That's why I don't go to spoiler sites.

polarpi 04-04-2005 02:01 AM

For those of us who don't mind knowing the outcome ahead of time (AKA me :D), can you PM the link to the spoiler site you go to?

Thanks! :)

I LOVED this new episode. The brothers were so awesome and yes, I was crying when they came in.
As for for stopping, yes, I agree Lynn and Alex didn't have to stop for as long as they did but at least SLOW DOWN and say "are you okay". That's just being a decent human being. Rob and Amber seem to be getting a lot of breaks by being somewhat famous(ie, locals helping them--the lady in the market) so it wouldn't kill them to at least be decent. Sorry, but I cannot STAND them!!

But how do you know they didn't slow down? Because it wasn't shown? That's the amazing thing about editing. You don't know exactly what happened. Just like on TWoP it was pointed out that it was a re-enactment or footage from another time that was edited in for the car flipping over and wasn't that actual accident.

And regarding people helping them? That has happened many times and many seasons. This isn't something new to this season because Rob and Amber are on. Yes it's easier for them because people recognize them but many other teams on all seasons have "ferns" (as they refer to them over on TWoP) that help them find places and item.s

To be honest, I will be happy with any of them...at least relative to the winners last season. Freddy & Kendra SUCKED, and I hated it when they won. This season, the two teams I couldn't stand are gone, so now it's all just fun.

RedAngel 04-04-2005 11:08 PM

Dz, I agree with you about last season---Freddy and Kendra were hard to watch to win!

Also, I meant to say that Uchenna and Joyce were more like the winners of the Amazing Race 5---Chip and Kim in that they are enjoying themselves as they go. I forgot that Freddy and Kendra won the last race.

Getting locals to help was one of the few things Jonathan did well last season.

Although he was shoving money at them while forcing them into the car. hell, i'd help his obnoxious ass if he was giving me money too, probably. and then I'd kick him.

LOL. Too true.

ZTABullwinkle 04-06-2005 12:52 AM

No one has posted about tonight yet?!?

I am so sad to see the brothers go. I was just a screaming when the boyfriends broke TWO cars. Like the one said, at least they went out with style. (But can you imagine them wearing those outfits for the rest of the race?

I am liking Uchenna and Joyce more and more each week, while I am just fed up with Ramber...

Harsh penalties this season. Can you imagine if it was longer than a nine mile drive to the pit stop???

GeoffZ 04-06-2005 01:59 AM

After all they did last week it's sad that the Brothers got eliminated. That would have been funny if they had to go thru the rest of the race in their swimsuits.

Meredith and Gretchen just won't die. Not that I want them too, I'm just saying. Good for them.

I was starting to like Kelly & Ron, but their bickering is annoying.

They did this before (I think it was AR5), when Chip & Kim and Kami & Karli both had to go back from the pit stop to the route marker and grab their clue before they could check in. And last season I remember Freddy & Kendra being penalized for some task, and they had (I think) a 2 hour penalty - it was the episode where Meredith & Maria got Philiminated :)

I knew as soon as the camera zoomed in on the post that they were going to have to do something - either a time penalty or go back to "finish" the task.

I was hoping it would be a NEL, because it *would* be interesting seeing the brothers race in their swimsuits and hats and sunglasses :D

I still *sort of* like Ron, but Kelly is driving me nuts - unless they edited it out, I never heard him say "Shut the **** up" - I heard him say chill, but that's it.

ms_gwyn 04-06-2005 03:51 AM

I heard Ron say shut up...with no pause, but Kelly reacted when he said, would you just chill, of course that could be some cleaver editing.

I will miss the brothers...they were fun....

I am enjoying this season and I do have to say that R & A are my favorites, U & J and M & G

mu_agd 04-06-2005 08:09 AM

I like cried when the brothers got eliminated last night. I think if they hadn't screwed up and spent so much time at the original water tower without reading the clue, thjey may have had a chance with the boyfriends breaking two cars and Uchenna and Joyce and Meredith and Gretchen both having to go back to the roadblock. I really want the boyfriends to leave. I hate all their trashtalking, especially with calling Meredith and Gretchen stupid and stuff. and I like Ron, but Kelly is just grating on my last nerve.

I agree. Lynn & Alex are too whiny for me.

vanda 04-06-2005 10:50 AM

Lynn and Alex grate on my nerves but I was too tickled when one of them were putting on as many clothes as they can when they thought they were in last place. And the look on their face and simultaneous "what" when they made the pit stop was quite memorable.

mu_agd 04-06-2005 10:53 AM

Also, I think my favorite parts are when the brothers were driving around and were just making the most ridiculous comments. they constantly have me laughing. especially when they opened the first clue at the pit stop and one of them was like "big money, big money, no whammies" because that? is such a great game show.

tonights clips show looks like it will be lots of fun.

MysticCat 04-06-2005 11:07 AM

I am really disappointed that the brothers are gone -- partly because I liked them and partly because I want the boyfriends to be gone.

While it was funny that the brothers were putting on swimsuits, it appeared that they and Meredith and Gretchen (who had to come back) got their clues at about the same time. (I know editing can be deceiving, but I thought I saw both Land Rovers there when someone was getting the clue.) I wonder whether they could have stayed in if they had acted like they were in a race instead taking way too much time to change clothes.

valkyrie 04-06-2005 11:52 AM

Of course it could all be in the editing, but it seemed like Lynn & Alex got their replacement cars really fast, while it seemed like it took forever for the brothers to get theirs in the last episode. Bah.

Anyway, if it's possible, I like Rob even less since last week. He's all "the gloves are off now" -- uh, dude, were they ever ON?! He's going to act all offended that Lynn & Alex didn't share the van with him last episode (granted they should've said "This is our cab, not a bus, and we're not sharing" instead of "There's no room" when there clearly was) as if he would've shared a cab with anyone -- hi, it's a race. He really can't have it both ways before looking like even more of a tool than he already does.

Kelly NEEDS TO GO. Hi, I'm all Christian and I like to talk about reading the Bible, but if you make me mad I'm going to call you redneck trash! That's great! She's whiny and annoying.

With the brothers gone (OH TEH PAIN! I loved them so! The swim trunks with furry hat!) I'm cheering for Uchenna & Joyce and Meredith & Gretchen. I like Lynn & Alex but some of their comments really bothered me last night (on U & J "They're made for this" re: the carrying of items on the head -- while it may be true as we found when Uchenna talked about his family history, L & A had no way of knowing that and it just bugged) although the layering of clothes at the end was awesome and they're at least nice to each other.

bcdphie 04-06-2005 12:11 PM

My fiance and I were so sad when the brothers were eliminated last night - they were our favourite team. I was really hoping it was a non elimination round, because it would have been hilarious to see them racing around the world in bath suits and funny hats.

I forgot to post about this last night....yea this comment bugged the hell out of me....it could be the fact that I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and I really don't feel like going to a concert tonight (U2)....so yea...I want the boyfriends GONE

but the looks on their faces last night was classic.

As much as I dislike Lynn and Alex, and as catty-sounding as that comment came across (as does much of what they say), I don't think we can assume that they "had no way of knowing" Uchenna's family history. While we never saw Uchenna talk about his heritage with anyone other than Joyce and "the camera," the teams have had plenty of time together at pit stops, including spending the night together there in Botswana. While I have no way of really knowing one way or the other, it seems quite possible that Uchenna may have mentioned to other teams at some point that his father is Nigerian, especially given his obvious excitement about being in Africa.

In any event, the comment did come across badly.

vanda 04-06-2005 03:59 PM

I think last week's comments were much worse in Africa. Like when they got lost going to the market they were "Oh My God we're in Compton" and then Alex says "look there goes Tupac" when they were trying to find someone to help with directions.

Um, Gwen if you don't want to go see U2, I'd gladly take your tickets:)

Not to mention the surprise at not seeing camels in Johannesburg.

valkyrie 04-06-2005 06:22 PM

Hey, did you guys know that Brian was on Fear Factor? Apparently he had to eat something gross and talked the whole time he was eating and didn't finish on time, then freaked out about it. Weird.

I also heard that the brothers are mormon. If true, that puts a damper on my desire to run away with Brian.

I don't think there has been a race yet that there hasn't been something negative said about Africa even though I believe Kendra and Freddy took it to a new low.

Don't forget Rebecca in Senegal (same TAR as Freddy and Kendra) who talked about Africa being the way it was, that some many people "escaped". Ai yi yi......

When else did the Amazing Race go to Africa? I know there was another time when they were in Soweto. And I also remember the twin guys (Shola and Dween) visiting Nelson Mandela's cell on Robbin Island.

ZTABullwinkle 04-06-2005 11:58 PM

I just watched the commercial, but I don't think that is one of the brothers. Looks similar, but more geekier than the two HOT brothers.

I wouldn't mind watching them complete the rest of the race in only a bathing suit! :D

According to the TWoP posters is and it looks like one to me, that's where I got the link from. I'll dig around some more to see if I can find anything else on it. also, keep in mind, that commercial is from a few years ago.
