It looks like both of them are having issues.
But what I really would like to know, is exactly how much they are running the show? They have 2 days max to pull this event out, I'm sorry that is just not reasonable to do with events this size. So what I would like to know is that are they running the setup/day off ops and everything else is in place. I picked everyone who was going to be on their individual teams....WOW Tana also needs to keep her mouth shut about her employee to the main bosses, that is not good in the business world, you may not like your teammates, but they are there for a reason and you need to have the ability to bring the best out of them or you're screwed. That was her first mistake. One of many, that I am sure will follow and I want Tana to win. |
I am so glad that they finally got rid of Craig. It's interesting that every single one of them agreed that Craig should be the one to go.
I think Tana's event seems much easier to manage than Kendra's. Tana's location is pretty much already set up for her whereas Kendra is having to deal with transforming that basement into something presentable. I hope Kendra wins b/c Tana really annoys me but I think it'll probably end up being Tana. |
Tana needs to learn the old Navy chief's adage: "praise in public, damn in private". As George already informed her... you gotta work with what's been given you... even if some of her ex-teammates were problem children. They work for you - if they can't do the job, they're off the task.

I believe the final two contestants (no matter which season) had at least 2 or 3 weeks to prepare for the final task. There is no way in hell these kiddos are able to come up with something this major in 48 hours and pull it off. I believe all the editing just makes it look like it was done in 2 days unless the final two contestants made like Flight of the Bumblebee.

More about Tana
She is from *my* neck of the woods...
Des Moines Register Article about Tana Goertz She does seem pretty cool. Her husband is a bit of a goofball weather guy though. |
Who do y'all think is going to become the next Apprentice?
I would like for Tana to win, but I think Kendra has it. |
It seems like the editors were trying to make Tana look like a gossiping manager. I DT wants to hire a college grad but wants to do it without the backlash of the show's fans saying he only hired Kendra because of her degree. If the editors make Tana look like she has poor management skills, people won't question DT's pick of Kendra.
|
Methinks Kendra has it pretty much sewn up. Again, Tana stuck her foot in her mouth by damning her team members within earshot of the powers-that-be. Praise in public, damn in private.
|
Since it came down to the final three, I thought that Tana had it in the bag. However, tonight her performance was less than stellar. I don't know if it was the matter of her trying to manage what seemed like a lot bigger event, poor management of the 'difficult employees' a combo of those two or just plain suckiness, but I was not impressed with her at all tonight. I've been hoping that she'd win this whole thing.
Kendra's task seemed to go really well, but she still annoys the living crap outta me. Please stop crying. That bickering and fighting thing that she and Craig had going on to me showed that she can't handle someone being critical to her. I'm not saying that Craig criticized her in a constructive or helpful way, but in the real world not all criticism is constructive either. It'll be interesting to see what the employees and the parade of other people he asks to help 'make' his decision have to say. |
Kendra's going to win.
|
Kendra was much better than Tana tonight, so I'm still wanting her to win. :D

I think that Tana's "employees" are going to rip her a new one when they're in the boardroom, and that's what's going to get Tana. |
Well, am I the only poor schmuck who thought last night was the night one would be HIRED?? I feel silly.....
|
No, I also thought last night was the season finale.

Does anyone else think that the teams were unfair? Tana had one of the first people that were fired (Bryan) on her team, and two of the most volatile personalities on the show (Chris and Kristen). Kendra had Erin, who was one of the last people to go. She had Michael, who was a slacker most of the time, but he was capable of doing good work - which he did in this task. Danny was pretty useless, but at least he didn't want to sabotage his PM like Kristen did. |

Tana got a team of volatile personalities while Kendra got a team of flakes. Kendra worked hard and made the team like her. She didn't talk badly of them behind their backs and she treated them with respect. She made her team want to work for her. Tana was disrespectful to her team so, naturally, they didn't want to work hard for her. I think Tana could have had a great team but she didn't work to earn their respect which is why she failed. |
Ms. MysticCat and I both thought that Tana had a worse team than Kendra and had a harder task.
As for teams, Kendra had space cadets, but (with the sometime exception of Michael), they were space cadets who were willing to work. Tana had Brian and Kristin, whom I wouldn't trust to rake my yard. At times, it seemed like the two of them were trying to lose. As for tasks, Kendra had to get the place set up (not a small task to be sure), but once the event got started, it basically ran itself, with just some oversight from her. Tana had to get the place set up and make other preparations (like the unusable programs), had to take care of a host of VIPs (including the Governor she kept waiting) plus schoolkids, and had to exercise a great deal more oversight and management during the actual running of the event to keep it running smoothly, or at least what she thought was smoothly. But regardless, Tana -- as much as I like her -- was in way over her head. She seemed clueless about how to try to get her team to work for her or how to inspire confidence and a desire to win. What was up with that "the executive doesn't walk out with the employees" bit, and then her sneaking to her limo? So lame. She didn't understand how to delegate appropriately. And she seemed oblivious to (or too distracted by other problems to worry about) the needs of her VIPs. Unless we were being set up by editing, no way Tana can win. Kendra, on the other hand, finally showed some leadership skills. |
Tana really surprised me in this task. She seemed to be very overwhelmed with overseeing the event (but then again, I think they showed more of her event than Kendra's). Due to editing, I'm sure that Kendra also had issues as well, but they obviously didn't mushroom into bigger problems. I didn't understand why Tana couldn't walk out with her employees, and I couldn't believe that she said on the limo ride back to the suite that she was sure she had won and that her family would be packing up and moving to NY soon. She seemed cocky.
On a side note... Kendra went to the University of Florida. Does anyone know if she was Greek? |
Well, duh. Anyone could've seen that coming.
|
At least it was better last season's finale, where the Jenn-bashing took up half the friggin show. This one was short and sweet.

Well, that was a waste of my time to watch....I actually prefered the two hour long finales where they talked to ALL the contestants, rather than 3 (Kristen, Erin, & Chris).
I really liked Tana for a while, but after the way she got SO obnoxious tonight about the "shape" of the Pontiac brochure, I was thinking to myself that she better not win after that. I understand wanting to have credit for what you were responsible for, but at the same time, you don't have to be so overbearing about it. But of course, that's just my .02 :) |
a Gator won!!!
I am proud that a fellow alumna from the University of Florida became The Apprentice!
...and the first female Apprentice, too! Goooooooo GATORS!!!!!!!!!!!! (as far as I know, Kendra was not a member of a sorority.) |
Did anyone else get the sense that Trump tailored the job offers (Miss Universe, Real Estate) to the final candidates? Like he knew who would pick which one? These tasks also seemed more feminine...

Tana sure did show her true colors... carping about getting credit where credit is due didn't make her look better to Trump and the audience. Kendra stayed stealth until it was time to stand up and be counted. Next up... Apprentice overdose: The Apprentice: Martha "Brig Bunny" Stewart and Apprentice 4. Ain't wasting my time with the DVR on either of 'em. |

And I didn't think Tana looked bad for demanding credit for her design -- Trump would have done the same thing. Kendra had taken complete credit, as Trump pointed out. Kendra was the one who came off looking bad there. What I found interesting was Trump saying he didn't like it that Kendra cried, after he told her in the boardroom (last week) that it was okay to cry. But the bottom line is that Tana screwed herself. Kendra showed absolutely no leadership skills at all until the last task, where she was great. In fact, in the Pontiac task, she showed an abysmal lack of leadership skills. Trump, George and Carolyn all criticized her for "flying under the radar." Tana, on the other hand, showed fantastic leadership skills until the last task (well, okay, until the Beadazzler fiasco), when she choked and made the huge mistake of constantly knocking her team. Had it not been for that, Tana would have won, I think. |

Does Kendra have an advanced degree? They were going on about how highly educated she is, but I thought she just had a bachelor's degree.

i am actually happy that kendra won. tana just drove me nuts...the bedazzler thing was too much for me to handle. i also thought that the events were much more feminine. i can't imagine that if there were two men (or one man/one woman) as a finalist, that miss universe would have been a choice.
i was very disappointed in the show tho. i felt like there were 10 minutes of commercials for every 2 minutes of show. it was pretty ridiculous. i hope we get to catch up with all of the contestents next season! |
I liked Tana until the Finale, when she made an absolute @$$ of herself. Oy....
And the Pontiac-shape issue that she deliberated on repeatedly, and the whole "Don't get me started!" obnoxiousness...... Hello, honey, you are a hayseed from Iowa, not some gangsta-biotch from Compton. Please stop trying to talk as though you are one. Oy..... |
Maybe Tana can finish up her coursework at Trump University.
Trump Unveils Launch of Trump University By KAREN MATTHEWS, Associated Press Writer Mon May 23, 1:18 PM ET NEW YORK - He's built buildings, written books, married models and starred in a reality TV show. On Monday, Donald Trump announced his latest venture: Trump University. Don't expect ivy-covered walls or a football team. Trump University will consist of online courses, CD-ROMS, consulting services and Learning Annex-type seminars. "In today's hyper-competitive business climate, the need for the highest quality education has become more crucial than ever," Trump said. "But people are looking beyond the traditional business education model, which involves hours in the classroom and relies primarily on book learning." The for-profit university will not offer degrees or grades. Courses will cost $300 and will take one to two weeks to complete. Trump said longer courses of two to three months would be offered in the future. |
