I didn't know what to think of Bo before he performed, but after he sang, he definitely moved up towards the top of my list. Can't wait until Wednesday to find out who is going home. Excited for the women's performances tonight. I really like Carrie Underwood and hope that she performs well tonight!! |
Mikahla annoyed the piss out of me. Even when you have an accent, it shouldn't really come out that strongly in a song. I felt like I was somehow flipped to an episode of the Nanny. She's not versatile, her voice isn't all that great, and her personality is annoying as hell!
I don't remember some of the names.... the black girl in the green dress was TERRIFIED, her voice was so wobbly. I think she should be good if she could get over her nerves. Carrier Underwood was decent, but I think she needs to work on her stage presence... I was kind of bored. The blond chick the the black dress with sleeves (made her looked like a middle aged woman) also has a lack of stage presence, to me, I wasn't entertained. The first woman to go, the black woman with the longer straight hair, had a lot of stage presence and was fun to watch even if she didn't have what I thought was the best voice out of all of them. Much more of an all around entertainer. The girl with the mousey brown hair who was a bitch during group auditions in LA- I was bored. I want to see her going home for being such an obvious bitch to someone on national tv. At least, I'm pretty sure it was her. Yeah, the girl in her group didn't seem to care at all about doing well, but she shouldn't have been such a Mean Girl to her on national TV I missed a couple of the later performances... |
Oh GOD! I absolutely DESPISE that Mikala-chick too. She totally makes my skin crawl. I loved when Simon told her that half the people would love her and the rest would hate her (I think it is more than half that will hate her!). I hope she is the first to go. Her cuteness she thinks she has, has totally worn off in my opinion. I don't see her as a singer, I see her more on an annoying sitcom on the WB that dies out after one season...........
I like Carrie Underwood, Jessica Sierra and Celena Rae. |
I only liked Vonzell (first girl), Carrie, and Nadia last night. That was it - if everyone else left I would be happy.
Aloha is just ugh - I do not like her look or her voice. I really hope she gets the boot tonight. I am so bored with AI. And could they please get rid of the 1980 pictures floating around on the screen behind them?! |
Ditto to AXO Alum...I tried to come up with a list of who I thought would be top 6, and those 3 were the only ones I cared about making it...the rest are just meh...except Mikala-I can't stand her lounge singer act.
I think Janay will go, and possibly Amanda who is pretty & has a nice voice, but pretty forgettable. We shall see... |
Well, another american idol season heats up...
Monday night, I was NOT impressed by the boys, although I loved Bo and Mario. And as much as I hate to say, I did like that Judd...it was fun! The rest were just there...poor little Anthony though, our hometown boy here in Philly wasn't very good... Tuesday night, the ladies also lacked a whole lot. I loved Carrie (she sang TIFFANY!! LOVE IT!), and while the judges didn't like it, I liked Lindsey, and I really liked Jessica too. Nadia to me, while she's fun and such, just isn't my style, but I bet she does well. Mikaelah was absolutely horrid...if she is still in after tonight, I'll be PISSED! |
Not impressed with the girls at all.
The ones I like - Amanda, Janay, and Jessica - had boring performances (Janay sounded awful). They praised Melinda's voice, but I thought it was a terrible performance. And Mikalah is on my nerves! Based on performance, I think Celena and Janay should get booted this week. I *really* hope Amanda stays around...she's hot and it's fun to watch Simon hit on her every week! ;) |
I missed last night. :(
But I'll be taping tonight... or running home from church or something to catch all the recaps. But the show is still on for an hour. WTH are they going to do for an hour. It takes a 2 minutes to say who's gone. (What am I saying? This is American Idol... famous for delaying results for an hour to pimp contestants for filler. ) |
I liked Carrie, and I'm not just biased because she happens to be a Tri Sigma... I really think the girl has talent. The tall skinny girl with the hair was good too. Nobody else really impressed me though. I think I'm with the majority here when I say that I CANNOT stand Mikalah! Unfortunately, she seems to have a lot of fans (although I can't figure out why) so I think she'll be hanging around annoying the crap out of us for a while.
|
Damn, she was HURT!!!!!
|
I am not at all impressed with how they are torturing these young people during the kick off segments. I don't think I want to watch the Wednesday show anymore. I'll watch the performances and just hear on the radio who was kicked off.

Sarah looked like she was about to pull a Carrie on somebody! I vote that we just have a contest between Mario, Anwar, Scott, and Travis for the guys and Carrie, Vonzell, and Nadia for the girls. Much more interesting that way! |
The good: well at least this week the people that we haven't seen much of at all are gone. Makes sense because they had less of a chance to make a fanbase grown. (DAMN 19E!) But I saw the recaps and Melinda was terrible from what I saw. I thought Sarah was good on her send off. I understand that she was upset tonight and probably less than thrilled to do a sing off, but was she that stiff last night? Just curious.
I didn't see Jared's send off but I figured it's for the best. But geez I thought Joe was a goner. Poor Judd. That send off was totally random and MEAN! Errrr. I liked him. Oh well. On to the next. Hopefully better song choices too. |

They're all gonna laugh at you! Plug it up! Plug it up! Plug it up! They're all gonna laugh at you! Trust me, Carrie. You can trust me. Trust me, Carrie. You can trust me! *shing* Doors close. *shing* Lights go out.... (Sorry for the interlude, that's one of my favorite movies.) |

You forgot the water hoses! lol |
The show was a bit rough on the folks who got booted. I have to say I was surprised that Janay didn't get booted. I hated that Melinda's performance on Tuesday,so that didn't surprise me...but Janay SUCKED. Oh well...such is...my favs are still in. But I have to say that I am not on that Vonzell train....I mean, she's just like LaToya and Tamara Gray and Trenyce. It's more of the same to me.
For the boys...didn't surprise me with Jared, but I was stunned about Judd...he got a vote from me. |
Bumping because it's on again tonight. Guys go tonight... gals tomorrow.
Hooray for more Meh! I hope for better song choices. |
I think tonight was much better than last week, for the most part. I was unimpressed by Constantine's vocals, but his performance was energetic. I also didn't think Anthony Federov was that great, but the judges were kissing his butt, and that long note he held will get him votes... people eat up that stuff. And I am not on the Scott Savol or David Brown train, so it won't bother me if either of them go home.
|
Nikko Smith.. all the way...
Bo Bice is awesome.. Constatine is a POSER |
Mario and Anwar for me.
I wasn't feeling Anwar until today, when I stopped being annoyed by his voice. |

Hold the phone! American Idol has been invaded by screaming banshees!!!!!
Oh wait... it was just Constantine. (Errr... ConstantSquawk?) Yeah that did NOTHING for me. Clay 2.5/Anthony - Ok I no longer see the Clay comparisons being valid, minus the fact that he's a clean cut white guy with a backstory. But Clay never sang cheese-ball late 80s ballads, unless they were a requirement of the theme night. And I laughed during his performance. I couldn't get the image of Hal Sparks singing that same song during one of the "I Love the 80s/90s" shows. Those of you who are fans will remember what I am talking about. Low points: I think David may be going home. I'm not seeing it. Or hearing it for that matter. Travis, while a nifty dancer, doesn't have that fab of a voice IMO. Joe... better than last week but... disposible. So two of those three will probably go. I won't throw Clay 2.5 in there yet just because of the judges' pimping. Scott in a pink shirt? Need I say more? I liked Bo in the beginning, and then my employment help called me during the performance. So I caught the beginning and the end. HE is the real deal and SHOULDN'T be on this show, but on a record label with Pearl Jam et al. I hope that's what is in store for him cuz he rocks and I would hate to see 19E do something horrible to him. (Like sing disco.) Mario, Anwar... good as usual. Nikko, I missed last week. He's a cutie. But I'm waiting for him to WOW me. He's a good singer, but I thought the same thing about Charles from Season 2. And I like his glasses. (He doesn't look like Bobby Brown though...) Did I miss anyone? |

I like Anwar.
|
I can't stand Constantine. I personally thought he sounded horrible and no better than someone in a karoake bar but the judges are pimping him for some reason. Bo rocks. He did a great performance. I think he'll make it to the final 12 but as soon as they get into Motown night, he's done. He's a rock-n-roll guy and that's it.
The Good: Nikko, Bo, Anwar, Scott, Mario The Bad: Anthony (I'm just not a fan), Joseph, Travis (awful vocals but great stage presence) The Ugly: Constantine, David |
Right now my favorite guy is Bo. I really wanna see him sing something that Chris Cornell sings. I would love to hear his version of Outshined or perhaps Hunger Strike.

I liked Joe (I think that's his name)...he sang 3rd. MUCH better than last week. I liked Nikko and Bo too. Wasn't as wowed by Mario this week. I can only hope Constantine hits the bricks along with David I think his name is (black guy, dreads, not Anwar).
|
I want to hear Bo break off some "Tightrope" a la Stevie Ray Vaughan...he's my fave so far!
|
So far, I think the guys are better than the girls this year. Let's see if my opinion holds up after the gals sing tonight.
|
Say what you will about Mikalah Gordon she just NAILED "God Bless the Child"
|
That noise you just heard was Janis Joplin turning over in her grave! That was terrible!!
|
Unless you have a rock-n-roll voice like Melissa Ethridge, you DO NOT sing Janis Joplin. Especially if you're going to make it country sounding. She butchered the song.
My favorite from the night was Amanda Avila but I don't think many people like her so I wouldn't be surprised if she went home. |
Quote:
Wow the girls were REALLY WEAK tonight Best- Mikalah Decent- Vonzelle and Aloha I still think Lindsay Cardinale has the best voice among the girls though.. |
Well, I didn't hear anything tonight to change my mind. I think the guys are better.
|
Would someone please fire tonight's stylist? All the outfits looked terrible except for Carrie's and Vonzell's.
|
Quote:
Yep. She did Faith Hill's version mixed in with Janis' version of the chorus. It was most certainly meant to sound more like Faith, since Carrie is supposed to be the country girl. |
Quote:
I love Carrie. I think she has this amazing and fresh voice. I think she is adorable. I have to admit I voted for her three times just because the judges were such butts. I really think Carrie could go far. Heck the AZ Republic gave odds that Carrie would be the next AI. |
Quote:
However if it was supposed to be Faith's version (which I don't think I've heard enough...) then so be it. Overall... blah. Bored to tears. I want to know what strings (or paycuts) Clive Davis had to threaten to get Alicia Keys to pass over her songs to 19E and AI. Alicia is her own being, which is what makes her famous. Tonight just sounded like a bad karaoke competition. Vonzell was better on her impression than Aloha was, but still. Janay seriously looked like a deer in headlights her entire performance. I think she will be the one to go. Simon's right... she's too young and I don't think she quite understands that the crowds get BIGGER as the competition goes on. If she is having trouble with this small of an audience... think about the Kodak Theater... and tours. I missed Jessica's which was apparently was the best of the night. Oh well... I wasn't digging the shirt though. Or Amanda's for that matter. I agree that AI needs new stylists... or to stop giving the contestants H & M gift certificates and telling them to pick what they want. Whatever will save us all from their fashion blunders. I like subdued-Mikalah. I didn't like the turtleneck she had on... but a quiet Mikalah is a good Mikalah. |
