Chapter: Sigma
School: University of Washington Year joined: 2001 Status: Active Collegiate Current offices: Freshman Educator, also have been Director of Adminstration and Rush Assistant. Why I chose Alpha Phi: It was the house I always felt like I was at home at. I felt loved here even during Rush, which is something everyone needs but hardly anyone gets. I talked to the same girl throughout rush and when she couldn't pref me, she hand-picked someone for me to talk to. After a very difficult day at preference, the Alpha Phi I talked to told me that she hoped my decision was much better by the end of the hour and after sharing her experiences with me she hoped that my decision would be easier to make that night. I almost started crying and told her that I knew it would be now! Needless to say I was on those same steps the next morning! |
WELCOME to another Pacific Northwest Phi!!!

Chapter: Epsilon Eta School: Old Dominion University Joined: Fall 2002 Status: Active! Positions: VP of Recruitment, Guard, University Greek Housing Representative Why I Joined.... I felt the love and warmth and genuine care when I walked into the room filled with Alpha Phis! They treated each woman who went through recruitment as if she was so important and they truly cared about her being there. I knew the second I met them that I was meant to be an Alpha Phi!! Hey yall! I'm brand new to Greekchat! This is actually my first post! Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hey!! QUICK NOTE!!! APHIATDUB....do you by any chance know Taylor?!?! She was our ELC this past semester and we fell IN LOVE with her!! Was she the President who spoke with you about Alpha Phi? sorry this was so long!! |
Welcome Shelby! http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...smiley-066.gif (I love that name, always have!). Ahhh ODU....ya make me homesick. I was raised in Virginia Beach (my mom still lives there)

Name: Jen
Chapter: Alpha Lambda School: Attending Boston University, initiating at Bentley College Joined: Spring 2004 Status: Alumnae Positions: VP of Communications, Boston Alumnae Chapter (as of yesterday!) Why I Joined.... I was drawn to the website, and as soon as I found out AI was even possible. . . I had a feeling it was home. When I met the co-presidents of the alumnae chapter, they were so warm and welcoming, and all the women in the chapter have been the same way. I think AOE stands for Angels on Earth. ;) |
No, no no... everyone knows it stands for Always Oreos, Every(day)! :D
|
Geezer Phi chiming in ...
:) "Mature" Alpha Phi originally from the MidWest now residing in the powerhouse West of Alpha Phi where the sun is bright and the Alpha Phi's shine hotter!
Recruitment Advisor for a very strong chapter in Northern California. |
Welcome...but who could this be????
Except for the RA part, your profile *could* describe me too! |
I'm in the Bay Area too! I'm the Recruitment Advisor at SFSU. Were you at Conference this year? It's hard to guess because our Northern CA chapters are all awesome! :D
Welcome to Greek Chat! |

My guess based on info provided is that she is the RA from Santa Clara.
Regardless of whether I am correct, welcome to GC. LD |
Name: Lisa
Chapter: Beta Eta School: University of Manitoba Year joined: 2002 Status: Collegiate Member Current offices: VP of Recruitment Alum clubs in past or present: none Why I chose Alpha Phi: I really wanted to join a sorority and I found out the first time I met them that a friend of my family is an Alpha Phi. That basically sealed the deal. :) And I've never regretted it for a moment. |
ROCK! Another Canadian Alpha Phi! :D

hello
Name: Meg k. Sprange
Chapter: Beta eta School: university of winnipeg Year joined: 2003 Status: active Offices: Vp of marketing and philanthropy Why Alpha Phi: I was really interested in philanthropy, and wanted to get more involved and possibly take charge in that, so i went through formal recruitment to see what this whole sorority buisness was. I found Alpha phi to be fun kind and full of life. They all made me feel welcome and like I belonged. I didn't get that from the other groups. SO yay for alpha phi WOO HOO |
Chapter: Omega
School: University of Texas at Austin Year joined: 2002 Status: Active Current offices: Favors Chair Why I chose Alpha Phi: Alpha Phi had what I was looking for, diversity, sincerity, and during rush, everyone looked as though they were truly happy to belong there. I actually was the longest pledge (I had to wait a year to join) however they didn't drop me once they realized I wouldn't be initiated as soon as they thought. That meant so much to me! |
My little sister's mom, aunt, and grandma are all alumnae of the Omega chapter. You ladies are great!
|

Nicky Dandurand
Beta Eta chapter University of Manitoba collegiate memeber initiated in: March 2003 VP Program Development why i joined: I was dating a Phi Delta Theta boy and he introduced me to the girls. They seemed the most down-to-earth and fun loving. I could tell that they were passionate about the Sorority. It's always been a blast! And every September I look forward to the new memories to come. *tear* :) |

Alum Club:Denver Alumnae Why did I go Phi: As soon as I walked in the house I knew where I wanted to be. Chapter: Epsilon Omega
School: West Virginia University Year joined: Fall 2003 Status: Active Why I chose Alpha Phi: I remember the first day of rush, waiting outside the Alpha Phi house. Every girl that stepped out was absolutely beautiful, and it sounds superficial, but I wanted to be a part of that. I was surprised that the girls were genuinely nice, and they were one of the few sororities that didn't talk negatively about other sororities during rush. What really got me was the Senior Testimonial during Pref Night. I don't know if every chapter does this, but it's when a senior gives a really beautiful speech about what Alpha Phi has meant to her the past four years. It usually makes all the actives and a lot of the PNMs cry. Anyway, after hearing the senior testimonial, I was 100% sure I belonged in Alpha Phi! |
Sorry girls, I copied the form from another post and forgot to change my chapter! I'm the Beta Iota chapter at WVU!
|
Hi, this is my first time on Greek Chat and I had to see what all the fuss was about.
Chapter: Delta Beta Texas A&M Commerce Pledged 1994, initiated 10 years ago next week Status-Alumnae Current Offices: Advisor for University of North Texas Why I chose Alpha Phi: Because it was the best sorority on campus and I loved everyone in the chapter. I knew it was home from the beginning. I look forward to getting to know and share ideas with my fellow sisters. |
Chapter: Epsilon Iota
School: Duquesne University Year joined: SPC '04 aka Phi-Unit Status: active collegiate member Offices Held: none Why I chose Alpha Phi: I fell in love with alpha phi from the first time i met the girls, and the first girl i met was my future big!! It made me feel like i found a home. |
Hello I've lurked out here for a long time and just started posting because the Philanthropy board inspired me to "come out of hiding" and start asking questions and sharing ideas.
I live in Texas and joined APhi in the 90s. I love to hear about all the wonderful accomplishments of our 6 exceptional chapters in Texas and across the US and Canada. APhi was the one for me from the beginning. I lived in the dorms and knew several girls on my floor who loved it. I never even considered another sorority and am sure it was fate! :) |
Welcome TxAphi! http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys2/00009158.gif
