Is anyone familiar with Maurette Brown Clark? A tremendous gospel vocalist and pianist, "How I Feel" (1998) is the CD I'm playing now. I have two of her CDs; don't know if she has more out. She's not a top "name," and she doesn't have a flashy style; but she's got a real clean, authentic (alto?) voice and style.

thanks tony. i think we need to gone and order our robes for the fif sunday (heheheheheheheehehehehehe)!! well, maurette's hubby is a minister. you may want to check out nuthinbutgospel.com to check out more about her. there is an article archived out there if i'm not mistaken. she sings in the choir with him on "praise wait". if you see the video for it, you can see her on the front row. very pretty lady. richard smallwood is the only other project i know that she's performed on. if you are familiar with ted and sherri, they also came out of richard smallwood's choir/group too! |

But you know it ain't gon' be that easy - you know how "discussions" are with trying to pick out robe colors! |

Whatchoo know about Ted and Sheri? They can sing their ABC's for me and I will cut a step! They have also done time with O'landa Draper & The Associates. John P. Kee & New Life and Donald Lawrence & Tri-City. I don't believe Sheri had been with Richard Smallwood. That's just Ted, and that was only on the last Vision project. Ted and Richard are both DC based. However, Sheri sang background vocals on the Kim Burrell Live project. Ted is on the Bishop Eddie Long and New Birth Cathedral project. BtB- Come up off of that Bishop Brown CD sweetie...Maurette ain't a new artist! lol Can y'all tell by now I love gospel??? :D |
I just came from choir rehearsal about an hour ago. My throat is SOOO'. :o But I still wanna be a virtual member of the GC mass choir! :p
|
Oh lawd many of us aren't that holy....
Everytime I sing in church I feel like I'm lying in church. Everything I want, everything I have, I'll give it you LORD! |

Mz.Destiny, LNF117, thanks for the additional M.Brown-Clark info. gotta love GC.
...and I will be there for the GC Mass choir concert on the "fif Sunday." It doesn't matter what color the robes are, just please don't take 15 minutes to "march in" like the Senior Choir, all because Mother Maebelle's son, Travernious, just came back from the west coast with a new step! :D |

I like that Ted and Sherri song on Hezzie's CD. It is called "He's On your side"....man, that song been having me slain in da spirit lately. Thanks for the info. on Ted and Sherri though. Are you referring to Bishop Ronald Brown? I love that man. It reminds me of my grandmother.
