Shane, I remember meeting you when you were an active at UTSA, and when you were on staff. Bunch of good guys I met at UTSA, my roomate at GA in 2002 was "Sweet Pea" from your chapter.

Hey all,

I know I haven't been around, or at least commenting on stuff, for quite a while - and some of you have fired of a message or two about it - but I have been dealing with some pretty severe health concerns of late.

Basically two years ago I was diagnosed (officially) with CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) after a good three years of testing to try and figure out the various health issues I had been having... anyways best way to try and explain how I feel is this: picture having a really bad case of Mono for oh four years solid, and then add the fun of feeling like you are recovering from a bender (sweats, shakes, crappy sleep, headache, etc.), and then finally throw in some of the fun of being drunk (spins, concentration issues, nausea, and coordination issues). That is what I've been dealing with for the past while, and of course the fun of trying out different drugs and stuff to try and fight it ;)

Anyways thanks all for your concern, and while I haven't been posting I have been lurking and reading through the C&Cs (including the comments and articles by many on this here site), I haven't forgotten about you all or lost interest in the site... just haven't had really anything to say really :p

Rob,

Good to hear from you. I just spent some time on the web reading about CFS, and it certainly is a mysterious condition that's very hard to deal with effectively. I wish you all the best and hope you recover from it.

HAZING!!! HAZING!!! HAZING!!!

JConleyWCU 12-13-2007 02:54 PM

We all know that "Hazing is Amazing"...

*** The following statement was sarcastic. ***

Sarcastic:

sneering, sly, jesting, or mocking of a person, situation or thing. It is strongly associated with irony
, with some definitions classifying it as a type of verbal irony intended to insult or wound— stating the opposite of the intended meaning, e.g. using "that's fantastic" to mean "that's awful". It is used mostly in a humorous manner, but can express annoyance or anger.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky defined sarcasm as "the last refuge of modest and chaste-souled people when the privacy of their soul is coarsely and intrusively invaded.

GammaZeta 12-13-2007 04:45 PM

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. I was being literal.

That loser comment is considered hazing to a new brother/associate.

How DARE you!

I chose Lambda Chi because I went to highschool with a handful of guys who were int he fraternity. I was offered a bid in teh fall but didn't take it because of money, and a woman (bad choice. :P) I knew lambda chi was for me when The entire fall i was still "one of the guys" I wasn't looked down on for not signing. So i signed first day back from Christmas and never looked back.

Music Education major.

Any other questions?

hello

My name is Jean Paul(JP) St. Pierre.
I'm a Junior at the University of Maine(beta)
I joined Lambda Chi Alpha because it was different than any fraternity on my campus. It was and still is, a truly unique brotherhood and I clicked with the brothers right away. My friends and parents thought I was crazy because they saw me as a very independent person, with no difficulty making friends. They will never understand what about it matters so much to me... but I'm ok with that, because ALL OF YOU KNOW! : ) ...and thats the way it should be.
I currently serve as High Phi, historian, and as a member of our Executive Board.

All of yours, In ZAX

I joined Lambda Chi because it was new. I went to a college where I knew no one and wanted a new start. Lambda Chi showed me something completely new and was probably the best decision of my life up to now. All the guys are great, and we have the best rep on campus. Now just elected as the High Kappa and have already served as the Big Brother Coordinator and High Gamma.

Wanted to bump this back up.:D

Brings back so many memories.

FYI, Brother Jono Hren passed at the age of 66(?) of cancer over the weekend.:o

Tom Earp 03-28-2019 12:19 PM

I met Jono on GC Site and friendship flourished from there!

He invited me down to B N Founders Day in Melbourne, Fl and he intern came to LX F D.

We next roomed together at 2004 Gen. Assemb. With both of us knowing so many people, we had a lot of visitors at our room. What a blast we had and will miss him so deeply. He also contributed many articles to the C & C over the years.
