I don't think Cashflow is really into rapping. If he was REALLY into his career and making it, he would have been ther. It seems like Carl Sr is trying to live out a fantasy through Cashflow.

What's the deal with next week, does Carl Sr want to use the money solely on Cashflow?

They were wrong for leaving her in the park, especially when Carl Sr KNEW she was uncomfortable.
The Malcolm X part tripped me out! :o

Octavia...I was like, he's working her like a hebrew slave. :o All she said was "okay".

I'm really mad that the dad is all about this kid "Cash Flow" and his career, but he doesn't say anything to him about being an hour late for the magazine meeting. This kid must think he's Usher or Bow Wow. You are NOT an established artist. You are TRYING to be established, and I'm sure this will not win him over with other media outlets. Lil busta....

Why did the white mom take the Malcolm X questions further with, "Did he ride the bus?" :o :o

I can't believe they left her in the park by herself either - that was wrong.

Cashflow - please!! That dad is putting everything (and neglecting his other kids) on a pipe dream! This kid may never blow up. But he should lit a fire under his arse for showing up late!

Can't wait until next week's episode!

But then he said (when she was showing him how to work the washing machine) that the clothes had been piled up since before his wife left!!! They woulda stayed right in the hamper until his wife got back OR he coulda got the real maid to help him!!!

RedefinedDiva 12-15-2005 10:54 AM

I thought that Octavia was going to go off once she saw the cleaning lady. I mean, if he made her wash the clothes, wipe tabels, wrangle the pool hose, etc., what is the cleaning lady to do? I thought the cleaning lady was going to think that Octavia was moving in on her territory....

I can't figure out how Kelli could gang up with some other chicks to make fun of her own sister! You would think that she would try to defend her. Then they curse like sailors and Dad, nor Mom, says anything. Man, some people have it all and don't know how to act. They had me tripping when they were crying after Octavia told them that they were rude and disrespectful. They were only mad because the truth hurts!

I don't know if Octavia is really quiet and humble or if that's how she is appearing on TV. She just observes her surroundings. Even when they showed clips of her at home, she was just sitting quietly on the couch while Carl Sr. went on about the business with Cash Flow. I am happy that she isn't all hood, like I thought she might be.

That's what I thought too, because all the cleaning lady did was stare at Octavia.

omigoodness, i thought that was SOOOOOO RUDE!! i was like, "dude, why did u leave her?" i know she didnt move from that spot so with the family looking dumbfounded, that was just ridiculous.

like aka2d said, CLEARLY carl sr. is trying to live through is punk-azz kid. that lil bamma needs to be in school. pardon the language but pretty niggas make me sick.

i was sooo not feeling the white dad treating octavia like a damn servant.

next week will be interesting.

Shalom08 12-15-2005 01:59 PM

After the Malcom X comment, I would have left her rump in the park too! She needed a taste of her own "you-are-invisable-to-me" medicine. (I get sick and tired of some folks deciding WE are invisable to them, like we don't exist...until it suits their needs to have us around).

Besides, she must have blended in more then she stood out because I noticed not one person bothered her...in fact, it appeared they ignored her.... like she was part of the neighborhood fixture!

Ol'girl can come off as if she hasn't interacted/interfaced with other cultures all she wants...I get the impression (yep, from my one hour viewing I know) that she "knows" more about diversity then what she's letting on! I'm not buying her "acting" abilities of her so-called cultural shock.

Shalom~

AKA2D '91 12-15-2005 02:57 PM

Shalom,

Good assesment/observation regarding the blending. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

RedefinedDiva 12-21-2005 10:49 PM

Did anyone else notice that the black mom pulled up in a black cab and the white mom in a white cab? OK, I'm thinking too hard... lol!

Anyway, Octavia has been my girl all the way up to the meeting. I mean, I know that Carl Jr. is her child and they believe in Cash Flow, but Carl Sr. REALLY does but too much time into him. Hopefully his bombing out in that concert will show him the light. Why bring your child up to be a rapper? Why not a doctor? teacher? lawyer?

Tom's family was crazy!! That one chick was staring at her like she was ready to fight her or something! "What part of Africa are you from?" OoooooooooK....

Does anyone in the family believe that Lysse rebels more because she is treated like the black sheep of the family? DUHhhhh!!

ETA: Octavia and Carl Sr. are the bomb!! I appreciate that they didn't go crazy like the kids.

NOTE to "Cash Flow": Baby Boy, you are NOT going to blow up!! Start requesting your college applications now.

NOTE to Octavia: Ashanti's hair is a H.A.M. PLEASE stop perming it.

NOWorNEVER 12-22-2005 12:53 AM

And why are his parents calling him "CashFlow"???? I wonder if Queen Latifah's mom calls her that or if DMX's parents call him X or Earl.

RedefinedDiva 12-22-2005 01:06 AM

NOTE to Lynne: Renting "New Jack City" and "Malcolm X" (who was a major "character" in Harlem  ) will not help you to relate to Black people. It's OK if you don't know. Get yourself to a museum or take a class or something....

AKA2D '91 01-09-2006 09:05 PM

Did anyone catch TS with the mom from FL with the "nerd" hubby? :o

Tonight's WS, the sista is IN CONTROL! :o :(

Honeykiss1974 01-09-2006 09:07 PM

OMG did yall see the Caucasian's family house...and their BATHROOM no less!!

and there is a dead mouse just chilling under the living room table!!!!

AKA2D '91 01-09-2006 09:14 PM

DAYUM SHAME!

See, that's why when we have work pot-lucks....I.do.not. participate OR I find out who brought what. :o

NuThetaNupe 01-09-2006 09:16 PM

Oh my gosh I can't believe they actually had a rat underneath their kitchen table and their bathroom was just disgusting. This is going to be a good swap.

RedefinedDiva 01-09-2006 09:33 PM

I'm sorry.... I know that the sista is all strict and whatnot, but I'd rather have a mom that ran home like a bootcamp than to live in a house of filth, with dead rats and isht in the house!!!  Someone should have taken charge a long time ago!!

I don't think that the sista should be so strict on the 11 year-old, but I kinda wish someone had me working out. Maybe I'd be in a better position today...

I can't believe that people get down right defensive and resistant to having a clean home!!! It's just like the husband swap a fe weeks ago. It's amazing that some people love living in absolute filth.

Farting in public!!! OMG!!!

Neosoulchild 01-09-2006 11:00 PM

Dang, I missed it. The family that has the mother that is a clean freak goes to my church. I wanted to see that show.

So other than the cleaning what else happened?

AKA2D '91 03-13-2006 09:04 PM

Medieval mom?

RBL 03-13-2006 09:54 PM

That poor girl couldn't use a cell phone........

kitten03 03-13-2006 10:47 PM

What about that son? He was so rude. Seemed a bit like the mom wanted the kids to keep her company. Although, I wouldn't mind being woken up with harp music instead of my loud alarm

I was thinking that too, b/c when the Haggerty children went back to school she said she was all alone.

I'm glad Mrs. Haggerty got the son a job so he could learn a little respect; and I'm glad the little girl found a friend.

When Mr. Haggerty said all they did in home schooling was make shoes, I died. lol

I hope Mrs. Haggerty really starts spending more time with her kids, I really felt bad for them especially the daughter and it seemed like the son couldn't read that well.

RedefinedDiva 09-18-2006 08:55 PM

TTT

New season started tonight!

How can people live in UTTER and COMPLETE filth?!?!   I know that my apt. isn't super spotless, but some stuff is just ridiculous! You can be as nasty as you want to be ALONE or with your friends/spouse/significant other, but when you raise kids in such a disgusting home, child protection services should be called.

I TOTALLY disagree with rule changes that require children to be home schooled. This is the second time that a "mother" has tried to keep kids home in an attempt to home-school them. Then, they have the unmitigated gall to be angry when the husband gets angry! I don't care about a TV show. There is NO WAY that someone would keep my kids home from school just because.

This is also the second time that the new mother has attempted to work wih the home-schooled kids, only to realize that they DO NOT know anything. EVERYONE CANNOT HOME SCHOOL KIDS!! You cannot just wake up one day and say, "Gee, I'll teach my kids myself." You have to TEACH the kids, not give them an hours worth of coloring and then break for lunch for the remainer of the day.

Let me get off of home schooling before I offend someone....

Anyway, I know I couldn't do this because if I were sent to a filthy home, they would have to cancel my appearance on the show! Talk about breach of contract! LOL!

I looking forward to more Black families! :D But I won't hold my breath....

mccoyred 09-19-2006 12:08 PM

I watch Wife Swap. Initially I was against the whole idea of swapping spouses but I like the way they do it and the lessons learned. They swap the spouse (they HAVE done Husband Swap on occaision) with a family that is the total opposite of hers (ie a physical fitness wife to an overweight family). The lessons learned are that every family needs balance so what better way to learn balance than to walk in the other person's shoes?

AKA2D '91 01-15-2007 07:46 PM

Ya'lls friend Margaret is back wreaking havoc on anyone not "Christian". :o

Firday

AKA2D '91 01-19-2007 11:00 PM

THAT was interesting!

Her name is Marguerite (Perrin).

JamaicanZeta 01-23-2007 02:33 PM

That would do it.

A little late, but I'm still mad at the black man being consumed by his version of the black agenda, and he was so rude! For what? The sad thing is that he doesn't realize that he's teaching that little girl that it's okay to yell at people and disregard their opinions, even if they're asking for you to lower your voice a bit. He really pi$$ed me off and made me feel a little embarrassed.

His wife was cool though. The church ladies weren't open either, but she stood her ground as she tried to enlighten the ladies. I shall record Part II.

OOhsoflyDELTA#9 02-19-2007 09:29 PM

these "raw" eating folks are waaaaay out there, no need to clean your house or wash your hands because God wouldn't make anything that harms you???? WTF is that about...how about you just living foul and your house is straight nasty!!! Oh yeah and send your children to school...there's gotta be laws against that!!

the other family seems cool, the husband just seems a bit different;)

pinkies up 02-19-2007 09:45 PM

Yes, the raw food people are nasty as hell! CTFU @ the butter and clay toothpaste; definately not a good example as to the reason to adopt this kind of hygiene.

OOhsoflyDELTA#9 02-19-2007 09:50 PM

the shot of their tiolet in the background almost made me gag!!!! Who lives like that??  I'm too through!!!

i was thinking the same thing. i mean, after seeing this DCFS should be all up in they business with the kids not being in school.

they were just nasty! eww, my skin was crawling just watching the show tonight.

tld221 02-20-2007 12:47 AM

ooh lawd both families seemed to be on opposite sides of the crazy scale:

the city family was so hell-bent on cleaning and being "cultured" and the country family, well, theyy seemed to equate farm life to being straight up nasty and earthy. if you ask me, both set of kids could end up part of the Prozac nation - the city kids might end up being some hippie artists that end up starving for their art, and the country kids could end up some worldly professors who desperately leave their past behind.

again, why cant people find a happy medium? i mean, most things are OK in moderation.

but i couldnt help laughing at the country family - did you see how the son was spazzing out? he went in the kitchen and took a shot of EGG YOLK!!!

RedefinedDiva 02-20-2007 12:52 AM

Can I view these episodes online? Y'all know I LOVE me some online episodes!! :D

LOL, I saw that, poor boy had to take a raw egg shot to calm down.

With them not brushing their teeth, they probably have all kinds of dental problems and if they don't know there has been research that links certain kinds of health problems with dental problems.

Just Nasty!!!

MzJ25 02-20-2007 11:38 AM

My co-workers and I were just discussing this show. I suspect that children services was knockin on their door bright and early this a.m. It is against the law to not have your kids in school. Plus having your children in those nasty living conditions should be a crime. I really felt bad for the kids, they appered to be really brainwashed. They are very lucky that they have not been seriously ill from that raw food.

delph998 02-20-2007 05:13 PM

It was very disgusting! But that father falling out crying had me cracking up! That was so hilarious--I had to wipe the tears out of my eyes from laughing so hard.

I could not believe that mother wanted ol' dude to donate all of his nice clothes. She had to be insane!
